Worse item budgeting than Plasma Rat (+4 Str, -6 Sta, -7 Crit vs https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=28253) but a touch slower for harder-hitting instants, it's BoE in case your drop luck stinks, and it's usable by Shamans.

Not a bad addition to the blue 70 weapon choices all in all :)

This axe in comparison to the Plasma Rat https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=28253
This axe: 268-403 damage
The Plasma Rat (polearm): 261-391 damage

As you can see the axe might have 6 stam and 7 crit rating less and only 4 str more than the polearm, but the better burst damage makes up for that imo.

(I have no idea how long it actually takes to collect 50 apexis shards but i guess it wouldn't be very hard if doing the daily quest "Banish More Demons" - https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=11051 rewards you with 15 apexis shards and some other stuff).
Of course in order to create this axe with the 50 apexis shards you would need to have the Depleted Two-Handed Axe first https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=32670#dropped-by

Bought this one from AH for 90g. Didn't know it could be made from turning the crystals in, but it's still worth every last copper :)

For you experts out there...

I am an arms/fury (burst) warrior and am currently using the crystalforged lollipop.

Is the apexis cleaver a decent upgrade before I finally procure the mats and gold to have the felsteel reaper crafted?

I'm losing out on a bit of stamina and +8 crit rating...

You get this by using Depleted two-handed axe together with 50 aprexis shards. It dropped for me today, worthless for a priest, so what can I get for it on AH?

Damn... I leveled the wrong classes...

Was allready considering a warrior, I guess I now have to to put this 'beauty' to good use, since it's crap for my #$%^&*! and all my priest can think of is the shard it gives...

Too bad it looks as if bought in the Durotar starting area.

Actually I think it's nice to find a weapon that's not purple and shiny. This one actually looks like an axe.

Planning to use this til my Arena weapon / Blacksmithing ( It's a race between the two, and due to my lazyness, Arena is rocking BSing face. =P ).

Not a bad weapon, best thing you can really get before an epic, imo.

I purchased the Depleted two-handed axe on the AH for 100g for my 31/30/0 MS warrior. It was a small upgrade from my previous weapon, the Sonic Spear. Basically I lost a small amount of Dodge and Crit but in return gained a few additional points of DPS.

As you can probably see from the stats, this weapon's performance is solid but not spectacular. The main advantage I gain from it is in pvp, particularly the Arena. The Sonic Spear is so common that everyone knows what it looks like. This, on the other hand, is definitely *not* a common weapon or a common graphic. On at least two occasions I was told that the enemy team initially ignored me because they thought I had gimp gear...

...and it is *not* a good idea to ignore a well-geared MS warrior when Death Wish, Flurry, and the Shammy's Bloodlust are all going at the same time. :P

I just got this on AH for 90g. I was thinking of selling it for 200g ( the average price for it on my server) when i bought it, but then i realised that it is a little better then my Crystalforged waraxe. I equiped and dont regret it one little bit. It pwns in PvP, i just beat a raid geared hunter and im in all blues almost with one epic and 3 greens.

I got mine today for 70g (burning legion realm).

Not a bad upgrade from the crystalforged axe IMO, you loose a little stam (11) but you make up for it in DPS, for PvP this is definatly the better weapon of the 2 (well i think it is), it's got a better top end damage, it's got more strengh and it's slower, all for the loss of 11 stamina and a little bit of crit rating.

It's just a shame the weapon is UGLY as sin, i mean what is up with making a L70 Blue look like a L5 green?.

I just upgraded from the Crystal lollipop axe..I hated it so.
This looks much better (like an actual axe) and has better stats.

Put Savagery chant on it and am heading back into the BGs now :)

I have not gone through the lengths of getting this Axe myself (yet? I think I'm going to try and get it off the AH, though) but I think these are the steps to making this weapon:

- Kill mobs in Blade's Edge Mountains to get Depleted Two-Handed Axe to drop. See the linked page to see what mobs it drops off and what the rates are. I guess it takes a long while before you get it to drop since the rates are quite low, so to speak. According to Thottbot data, Insidion drops it about 30% of the time. Insidion would be spawned by using 35 Apexis Shards at location 62,7. Although he is listed as ? he would be level 72 elite. He seems to be tuned for 3-5 players (prepare to roll for the Depleted Axe?).
- Get 50 more Apexis Shards. These are rewards from daily quests in Blade's Edge Mountains (they yield 15 if my sources are right and there are 4 of those quests, so if they aren't too hard this part's one day of work). They are also looted from "Apex Shard Formations" (see Wowwiki page).
- Right-click your Depleted Two-Handed Axe and you will have your Axe.

I guess in the luckiest scenario you will need 85 Apexis Shards (35 to summon Insidion, 50 to craft the axe). Averagely 155 Apexis Shards (105 to summon him three times, according to an average of three summons to have the axe drop (30%) and 50 again to craft the axe). But knowing the game, some will have it with less (called 'luck'), but the majority will have it with more (to make up for something called 'average'). :P

Now all this information is gathered from various sources (Thottbot, Wowhead, Wowwiki, Google, etc) so it might not be entirely incorrect. Information that might be useful to be added:
- Is the sequence correct?
- Does the Depleted Axe drop from other mobs than Insidion?
- Information on beating Insidion at it's own page, since I can't find useful information on how hard he is and how many people you actually would need to beat him.
- Are the coords to summon Insidion correct?

Any comments are appreciated, naturally.
