Best starter tanking boots at level 70, sadly, both for warriors and paladins -- Pre-Karazhan.

Depending on how much you value dodge, Flesh Eater's Metal Greaves can also be very good (66 lvl mana tombs quest reward).

This is probably a reward from a Skywing quest (judging from the name).

One of the few boots at this time with block value for prot warriors going after big shield slams.

These are a quest reward from a small chain started by a drop. Keep in mind, you need to have the 5000g epic flight riding ability before it will drop... a small detail nobody mentioned before I spent my time trying to grind it.

If it really is true that you need to have epic flying skill this quest reward kinda becomes a waste. If you want to farm money to get these, you'll be much better of just spending 500-1500g buying SSC tank boot plans from your local SSC/TK guilds and farming the mats for them. Even if you buy all the mats it'll be much cheaper than farming 5k for mount.

That's just me of course - I haven't been bothered with farming for epic flying mount. Heck, I played 4 months without epic land mount simply because I didn't feel necessary to get one pre-tBC. Most of my time was spent raiding, not riding around.

I was about to reccommend these to a new paladin tank in my guild but needing to have epic flying just to get some green tanking boots is crazy.

How many people have their epic flyers BEFORE they go to kara? My guess is not many.

ok, so i got these and i tank for kara cause these are some of the best tanking boots you can get pre kara(including out of heroics, the ones out of heroic bf are good but i love shield block)

so i didnt really know how to get them and no one had explained on thottbot yet so im gonna do it.

first off you need epic flying, then you speak with the blood elf in shadowmoon near the dragons in the south. you complete the quests to get neutral with netherwing, and once you have your epic flying skill he offers more quests, which lead to you being able to gain rep with netherwing, which allows the item to drop off of the big ass monster(which is solo able by a tank with 450+ shield block taht knows how to stance dance)

thier easy, good, but expensive
