The costume is a non equipped item with a 6 second cast time. The item itself has no cooldown, but it triggers a 1.5 sec global cooldown, and the effect is broken when you cast a spell, attack, eat food, or take damage.

When you jump, you flail around like a spasmodic rag doll, and every once in a while you wont quite stick your landing, and end up landing on your face.

The only emotes that function properly are waving and dancing. Running is excessively exaggerated. There are also unique movements when you stand idle. You cannot sit or lay down while in the costume, nor can you mount up.

All in all this thing is freaking hilarious and I love using it in the AH and outside of instances while waiting for raids to start.

I can't tell for the life of me why Blizzard has to go through such efforts to kill simple pleasures such as Murloc mounting. Is there any game-breaking things you can POSSIBLY do with it? And it's not as if the item is common, so few could exploit even if there was one.

Not sure if it's a bug or intentional by Blizz.

Noticed that once you are under the affects of the costume, your character becomes male...at least my F-Belf's emotes became the Male Bloodelf voice instead.

*Fixed in 2.2*
Murloc costume keeps the original gender, emotes are corrected to the proper gender!

Playing around in the 2.2 PTR it looks like the Murloc costume will get some new emotes. It now has animations for: Laughing, sitting, and pointing.

Where does it come from and how hard is it to get?
The Murloc Costume comes from the Blizzcon 2007 Welcome package.
Rarity: One per visitor to Blizzcon 2007
Quantity: Speculated to be a print run of 8,000.

How much would I expect to pay for one off eBay or similar?
According to http://www.wowtcgloot.com/murloc_costume.htm (most information sourced from there), the lowest Buy It Now price starts around $220 USD upwards to $400 USD, with the average quantity listed hovering around 1 item. The prices are slowly rising due to the rarity of this loot.

Upon succcessfuly submitting the above information, you will be presented with an in-game code. Write this code down or print it out; you will need it to retrieve your item. Log into the game with the character that is to receive the item and travel to Orgrimmar for Horde, or Ironforge for Alliance. Find your murloc representative (listed in "Facts" above), he will ask you whether you want the Murloc Suit, Murloc Pet, or the Big Blizzard Bear. Ensure you have got bag space to hold the item! The zipper on the back of the costume says "EPC" and it means Ezra Phoenix Chatterton, the name of a child that Blizzard helped through the Make A Wish foundation, for whom they created a quest in Mulgore and gave him the first ever Ashes of Al'ar aka phoenix.

Ok this Murloc Costume sounds really cool. But how exactly does it work? I mean can I use it over and over again? Or is it one of those crappy 1 time things? I mean it looks and sounds awsome! But I would like to know if it is worth paying money for it... :)

It's kind of a darker green color and it's got some stitch looks to it.
If you're alliance go in IF and go to the Forlorn Cavern where the guy that gives out Murky and he'll be in the costume. it looks really hawt.
If you're horde just make a gnome/dwarf and go to IF unless you know where the murky guy is for horde.

The /dance animation is the best one I've seen. Worth the costume all in itself.
Also another emote worth noting is /cheer. Makes me remember Roller Coster Tycoon.
It also makes you jump slightly higer. Weird.

Anyone know, if when a hunter uses the suit and does fake death, will the murloc go mmmmmrrrrrggggghhh?

I wonder... like the old Blood Elf disguise, and the Skettis Disguise.

Can you use this while in the druids Travel, Aquatic, Flight Form. WOuld be funny to see a Murloc fly past :P

Okay, my guildy went to Blizzcon and got this hilarious costume, so I'll try to answer your questions.

1.) No, you can't blend in with murlocs, they still attack you. Tried in Tirisfall.

2.) No, you can't feign death. Any skills used automaticly takes the costume off. Like a mount.

3.) It has a special Murloc dance which is hilarious and whenever you jump it flails it's arms around.

4.) It shrinks your character down as well, and there is a giant zipper showing in the back. It also carries a blue "BlizzCon" flag in it's right hand.

A few other tidbits... it sometimes falls on its face when jumping, it doesn't make noise (/cry), its eyeball pops out crazily when you /greet or jump, and finally, it has heart-covered underwear visible in the back. Really cute and fun!

If your character is a female, wearing the costume also causes you to change genders. I have a human female. When I did a /silly, all of her jokes came out in a human male voice.

If you plan to buy on ebay make shure its not the TCG murloc card, that does not give you the suit.

It's a costume that sits as an item in your bags, has unlimited uses and a 60 minute duration for each use.

When you become a Murloc, it's like the Savory Deviate Delight - it has a buff that has the Murloc noise under it. Any casting or abilities disables the suit (wish they'd change this!).

Random other stuff -
The murloc has unique walking (and patter sounds), dance, wave, and jump. He carries around a little Blizz flag that waves as he runs/dances, etc. The eye pops out while doing most motions, but any vocals (/silly or /flirt) come out as the male race. The zipper on the back says EPC and the undies have red hearts on them. While in costume, you also swim like a murloc

Really cool costume, I just wish we could cast/fight/take dmg in it!

You can get the costume from a guy in the forlorn cavern in IF.

I see lots of guys running around in them and they make my want a costume even more.

The code is on the ticket for blizzcon.
