This pattern was added to Apprentice Darius of the Violet Eye ( https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/npc=18255 ) , outside Karazhan in patch 2.2.

I hope this isnt the finaly mat requirement... If so than this cloak is horridly underpowered and will never see the back of any character. GG Blizz on yet again making a LW recipe that NO one will want to make or use.

The mats aren't that bad really; just the Nether count is ridiculous.

4 nethers....i mean this IS great for druid feral dps because of the strength and all, but yeah im not collecting 4 nethers for a little bit better cloak than i have, i guess it's good to boost gear an alt....

Also great for Ret Paladin, since Strength is better then AP for them and melee crit rating.

I think that the violet eye decided be nice to kitty cats. If you just fit a +8 str gem, you get 31 str * 2.4 = 74.4. AP. Compare the result to https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=32323 and realize that while you don't get the plus hit, kings gives you even more AP.

That said, I'll be just as likely to go with a +agi gem, or maybe some sort of multicolor to try to get the socket bonus. But for a feral druid, it is easy to see how it could be worth 4 nethers.

no specialization is needed for patterns that are earned through reputation...

Apparently not available in phase 1 of classic. Guildie of mine hit exalted this week and I had him check the vendor for me. Wasn't there.

This is essentially equal to vengeance wrap for warriors (and maybe ferals + rets too) but with 25 stamina added on top.
