As far as i know this pattern is Horde only, Alliance get

Getting the pattern seems impossible but the item could be passed through neutral AH.

As a tailor I received this in the mail from blizzard with the following message:

Good news ! You're supposed to get new patterns like directly in your mail from Great Father Winter himself. Bad news, nobody exactly knows how to get them.

We're currently investigating this matter—quite avidly, to be brutally honest—and hope to reach a solid answer shortly; until then, we will be unable to directly assist any players who have not yet received Winter Veil patterns or recipes, as we must establish baseline requisites before providing such items to the public.

Once more, you have my most sincere apologies for leading you astray; nonetheless, our intent has not changed—we still wish to ensure that all those deserving of these patterns and recipes acquire them—though our method of "attack" has altered slightly for the time being.

This pattern is available via the Smokeywood Pastures vendor in Orgrimmar (possibly other major cities too), along with the boots pattern and the cider recipe. The pattern is bind on pickup.

I just got back from Christmas, and went and opened all my presents on all six of my level 60+ characters. (All Alliance.) In the package that had the Greench and the Preserved Holly, I also received this pattern. I got it on my 64 warlock, who does not have tailoring, but it's boe, so I sent it over to my tailor. Kinda wish I had gotten this earlier, when green winter clothes were selling for 70g on our AH.

I learnt this and looked in my taioring and it wasn't there! i looked everywhere... maybe cause i'm a BE, everything messes up for em.

I just checked and the recipe's are now available at the vendors besides father xmas.

Now, the recipe's are BoP, however, the vendors are allied with the goblins, and not with either Ogrimar or Ironforge... So could you mount a raid into say Ogrimar and purchase the green recipe as an alliance toon?

not sure of the valitity of this but apparently the red set aer allience and the green set are horde and as blizz for some reason has seen fit to make these BoP the only way horde can get a red clothes or allience the green clothes is by the goblin AH.

lastly if you look for the colour not assined to your fraction remember your limited to the dreated items not teh recipe themselves...damn BoP.

Duno im a tailor and i receive this in my mailbox from great father winter, but i just got the chest part :O where can i get the hat and boots receipe!

So far as I've learned, tailors get the Clothes pattern in the mail when Winter Veil starts, if they did the winter veil quests the year before. Leatherworkers get the boots pattern in the mail the same way, and the hats are drops.

It also seems to me that alliance gets red patterns and horde gets the green ones, haven't gotten that confirmed yet though.

i'm not sure about the part for having done the quest the year before. I didn't do the quest as this blood elfe tailor character was not created and i received the pattern.

Well, I didn't do any quests last year, did one quest this year and I had the pattern in my mailbox several hours later. Not sure if it is a coincidence or not.

need 325 + professions for the gifts to be able to use them is my guess. it seems green is horde and red is alliance, but its not bop so can be switched over from what i know of.

Of my three tailors my youngest and rarely used one recieved the pattern. She also did not have the required skill to use the recipe yet.

Yea blizzard sucks majorly on that i mean i have done every single christams event all quests and everything been 375 ever since i could nd 300 ever since pre bc and i have yet got anything for the x mas event in mail. I seriously think santa has me on a hitlist or something.

talked to a gm today and he said that ally got red and horde got green but didnt clearly answer my question on why ally got to buy from the vendor and horde did not

edit: it is now sold from the vendor

was able to buy the green suit on from the horde vendor on my ally toon- just got to have a fast mount and a good clicker= vendor will sell to anyone lol

yes it can be done, I got in and out of Ogrimmar without dieing to buy the pattern...only problem is I bought 4 of them because I was just clicking away heh.

Just ran into Ogrimmar to get this on my 70 NE Priest Tailor (guildmate ran along with me just for fun). Scoped it out first on my lowbie horde alt so I knew where to go (the vendors are right before the AH).

We donned gnome elf disguises and used holly to be on reindeer. Only a couple guards spotted us, he got dismounted and a couple people attacked (luckily he's a rogue, so he just vanished). We got out of there alive and I have a shiny new pattern. :)

Probably easier to do at off times, with less horde wandering about. Not sure if the disguise/reindeer helped or not. It's really not that far in. But much better with a mount, I'm sure. Or maybe a swiftness pot.

I may be the only Alliance to own this pattern on my server, for I haven't heard of anyone else doing this. I only got it for the fun of knowing I'm an insane nutjob.
