As far as I know Blizz changed them so they could fight anywhere exept in Shattrath

The Clockwork Rocket Bot is a new pet that you get from a present under the tree. It's a 100% drop rate so anyone who looted the presents got this pet. Because of his abilities as a "non combat pet", the item has a 5 seconds cast (interrupted if dmg taken).

Clockwork Rocket Bot - Abilities:

2 sec attack speed
Melee for 1-3 (rarely 3 crit)
Wide Slash (spell, ~10-20sec cooldown and affects 2 to 5 close-to-each-other targets)
Electrical Charge: (spell, ~20sec cooldown that affects a random target thats in combat with the bot, probably all combatants if you actually manage to get in combat without killing the robot...)

Clockwork Rocket Bot - Facts:

40 health points
Immune to Freezing Trap and Polymorph (CC)
Will allways run to stand at the back of his target (he will avoid front to front with his target)
Casts Electrical Charge on a random target that is in combat with the Robots target (example hunters pet or more targets, like if someone heals the hunter)
Despawns on zoning (Hearthstone and such ...)
Will not fight mobs, only players that use offensive abilities on you

Combat statistics, based on combat log data. Each duel lasted around 10 minutes.

Vs. a naked level 70 Hunter, 683 armor, 7,2% dodge and 5% parry:

Melee: 1-2 damage (3 crit, really rarely like 1%/2% chance per hit)
Wide Slash: 4 damage (hits close by targets, casts around each 10-20sec, resist/miss rate is quite high, but it can hit up to 2 close targets)
Electrical Charge: 4 damage (single target, casts each ~20 seconds, resist rate is high, around, 80% resist rate)

Vs. a geared level 70 Hunter, 5969k armor, 17,1% dodge and 5% parry:

Melee: 1 damage (2 crit, even more rare to crit when the opponent has gear on)
Wide Slash: 2 damage
Electrical Charge: 2-3 damage

The level 1 vs. 70 player formulas applies on the bot too. That is missrate, resistrate, e.g.

I gathered some combat data when it fought a level 1 character, this is what I managed to discover.

Vs. a level 1 character, 47 armor, 4,84% dodge and 0% parry:

Melee: 4 damage hit and 8 damage crit
Wide Slash: 8 damage hit and 18 damage crit
Electrical Charge: 2-4 damage hit

Additionaly you can summon it close to someone else with this pet (or both countdown and summon it simoultaniously) and the pets will fire rockets on each other. One will get his pet killed, other will survive! ;) If you use Prat, use this macro as a simple countdown for both of you:

/in 1 /s == 3 ==
/in 2 /s == 2 ==
/in 3 /s == 1 ==
/in 4 /s == NOW! ==

He says things like "Uh Oh" to "hehehahaha" to " I was just joking" and so on.... so many little phrases, he usualy says "i was just joking" right b4 he laughs

You must be lvl10 or up to get the present.

I have a question: With the recent patch the robot still attack in PvP or duels? (i know it no longer shoot rockets on robots with the recent nerf)

"Are you happy?"
"Love me!"
"*laughter*"
"Uh-oh" (plays when they get blown up by other robots)

whenever you have your Clockwork Rocket Bot out and somebody else has theres out, they attack each other and dismiss.

on a PTR during Christmas when everyone had one they kept on killing him so im like WTF
so i summoned him mounted up and kept on going acrosse the place and he fired a rocket every 2 sec and also he was invincible lol it was so much fun =D

As of 2.4.3 (Currently on PTR) these robots fight each other again.

is it confirmed that the robots fight each other outside of shattrath or do they just fight in the city still, any info would be very helpful, thank you

You can get this on very low levels. I'd just started when i got it, and couldnt have even been level 20

I know for a fact they don't attack mobs when you are hit by them. People in earlier posts have said they attack players, I have yet to see that, but if someone else nearby has one, they will fire rockets at each other. The one that gets hit (or both if they both fire) with die, but just needs to be resummoned. They are cool looking little robots, with (as the name suggests) a clockwork key, which is always turning. When you click on them, they make goofy little buzzing "robot" noises, and unlike most pets, have a 'casting' time to summon them (as you wind them up). You can get one of your own from the Winterveil Gifts under the trees in Ironforge or Orgrimmar, and they have no duration or limit on uses. I dunno what the minimum level to get one is (or even if there is one) but I know toons as low as 50 can.

This nifty little bot will attack other players if someone melee attacks you! It's pretty handy vs casters coz it pushes back te cast bar! Try it in a duel!

If yours dies, run out of range of the other person and his robot so that when you summon it, it doesn't instantly die :D

Everyone at European realms can grab Christmas Presents under the Tree in ORGRIMMAR Now.
(since 25-dec-2007)
This one is a 100% drop from the Winter Veil Gift: Winter Veil Gift
You can get it from level 10 and at level 40 you can get all presents.
This pet sometimes attacks enemy PLAYERS and randomly attacks Pets
It automatically attacks other Rocket Bots when it's close to one, so no need to click or press anything to make them attack.
I posted 5 screenies but will take a few hours untill they are visible) Before you can see it yourself I can tell you: It's as big as an Warlock's Imp, pretty big for a minipet :]
PRIESTS: Shield & heal your robot so no other robot will be able to kill him ^^
This works as a Minipet so you won't be able to summon another minipet while the Rocket Bot is active, if you do it fades so you have to summon it again.

-Rofl a Rogue ran away from me and stealthed, than my Rocket Bot ran after him and detected him!

EDIT: Ofcourse, BLIZZARD REMOVED THE ABILITY TO LET THE ROBOTS SHOOT EACHOTHER WITH ROCKETS :(

If you are Priest you can buff robot with shield and your Rocket Bot will become unstoppable killing machine :)

cue little pet, but if you can't sheild him, don't go into the city right now unless you want to resummon him every 6 seconds :)

BTW, don't know if there are different colors for horde and alliance, cause there are different color ones on WoW model veiw... will post pics

Go near a bank in Shattrath and get someone else to summon their robot. They'll constantly shoot rockets at eachother and not die... now get on your mount and run around in circles.. fun!

They still attack eachother in shat but they don't die when they get hit. They attack players or mobs after they hit ur charachter and they reandomly attack peoples pets, like mine chased and shot some locks felhunter.

Yeah, I knew this would happen...They removed the ability for the bots to attack each other with rockets.

Great, just when probably one of the best pets they ever had was released, they removed the most fun thing about it.

Seriously, finally the CTRs become non-engineering fighting robots, now everyone got a bigger, cooler, free robot for christmas, and on top of that the two don't even fight each other!

Looks like bliz nerfed the fun again. What makes me mad is they gave us a cool robot,can attack in duels/pvp (1-2damage and 5sec cast to summon.. lol its balanced),no longer shoot rockets at robots.

Next patch after xmas: Nerfed! Thx bliz.

This did not originally drop on the 25th in TBC Classic, but was patched in a couple of days later.
