Simple way to think about the value of this proc: for a character attacking once per second, you would go from +0 to +440 AP in the first ten seconds (averaging 220 AP during that time) and benefit from the full 440 for the other ten, giving you about 330 AP over the entire duration. Adjust numbers up or down depending on how quickly you attack; good thing it has lots of haste as well.

The proc chance reported on the proc tooltip is 10% ......if it is indeed true this will be one of the most sought after trinkets for physical dps classes in the game and to pair it with lots of haste is just making me salivate. So .... to sum up, get it i dont see how you would be dissapointed.

If the proc had a 45 second internal cd there would never be more than a 1 stack

You read it wrong. Once it starts, it lasts for 10 seconds. During those 10 seconds every melee hit increases the stack. The 45 second cooldown is to start the buff.

Most rogues at that level hit a couple times a second. So the trinket would proc about once every 50 seconds (10% chance, 2 hits a second, average of only 5 seconds to start the buff) and give an average of 385AP over the 10 seconds it is up. This averages out to 77AP buff for the fight.

54 haste and 77AP? That's a damn good trinket.

Over the course of the procs based on 1 strike/second and assuming each attack lands, it will work out like this :

44 + 88 + 132 + 176 + 220 + 266 + 310 + 354 + 396 + 440 =
2426
2426 / 10
Average 1 attack/second.
2426 / 10 = 242.6 for the first 10 seconds.
2426 + 4400 = 6826

Average Attack power while trinket is active = 6826/20

Therefore average attack power is 341.3 per second when this trinket procs and every attack lands.

341.3 / 3.25 = Average of 105 AP per second over a 65 second period of Proc20sec + CD45 sec.

10% chance to proc at 1 attack/second = +10 seconds so 341.3/ 3.75

Therefore the average AP damage of this trinket during a fight is 91 based on 1 strike per second

Of course nowadays many rogues + haste rating and have as low as 2 strikes per second meaning this trinket on average adds around 223 extra attack power for them given the formula :

10% chance to proc at 2 attacks / second = +5 seconds
2426 (first 5 seconds of proc) + 13200 (15 seconds, 2 strikes per second, 30 x 440) = 15626
15626/20 = 781.3 per second while trinket proc is active
781.3/3.5 = 223 on average time of wearing the trinket

Just wondering ... on proc, would shaman stormstrike and windfury procs affect the attack power additions? Because one proc of WF along with a SS would bring it up to 5 stacks within seconds. This could potentially be as fast as rogues even though the sham would be dual-wielding 2.5s wepons or greater.

Just something to check if a shammy gets this from plateau.

Sword Spec rogue with a chance on hit to get additional hits per swing would bump up the increments.
