While it is true you can't always take 8 seconds out of a fight to regen mana, there are occasions where there's a lull in the battle (like some of the phase changes in the Illidan Stormrage encounter) where you could stand there and regen with this trinket. Added to your base regeneration, you might be able to save yourself a mana potion or 2 each encounter.

In addition, you could use spell haste to speed up the channeling process, particularly with the new season 4 weapon, Brutal Gladiator's Swift Judgement, which you could swap in on the fly.

And even without the regen effect, 119 is still among the highest +healing bonuses you'll find on a trinket. I'd venture to say it's probably the best counterpart to the Memento of Tyrande a non-alchemist can get.

This trinket can be only remotely useful if the channeled effect couldn't be interrupted of if you can find a time where you won't take damage and you can channel this :3

Memento of Tyrande (Each time you cast a spell, there is chance you will gain up to 76 mana per 5 for 15 sec) so perfect 8 times due to 45 second internal CD (228 mana*8 = 1824 mana)

3 Mana potions with Redeemer's Alchemist Stone (Basing that since mana potions are from 1800-3000 mana for TC sake let's say 2400 mana) 3360 per pot x3 = 10080

So subtracting 7200 from 10080 gives back 2880mana.

Same +heal effect with a passive mana regen effect. Of course, both Memento and Redeemer's Alchemist Stone's +mana return goes up as the fight duration goes up. Let's say KJ is oh, 15-20 minutes like Illidan.

You can use this trinket 3-4 times in KJ. (6000-8000).

Memento would return 228 mana*~27 = 6156mana in a 20 min setting. 228mana*20=4560 mana in a 15min setting.

Redeemer's Alchemist Stone 10 mana potions in a 20 min fight 3360*10 = 33600 subtracting 24000 from mana potions it would make the mana return 9600. 15 min fight 7 mana potions 3360*7=23520 subtract 16800 would give you 6720 mana.

Now this trinket is clearly superior to Memento if you can find a time when you aren't taking damage to channel it for it's full effect.

Dropped for <Vicarious> of Area 52 the other night. the on-use effect (the channel) is called "Evocation", like the mage ability, and scales with spell haste. Damage does NOT shorten the time for the channel at this moment.

Got the trinket yesterday. The on-use effect scales with spell haste gear (and probably anything that increases haste). You get the same amount of mana, but faster.

Regarding the pushback, I am losing cast time (and thus mana) from being hit in melee. Moving or being stunned or knocked around also interrupts it completely. For druids, barkskin can protect against pushback. Pummel does not interrupt the cast (and I am assuming counter-spell or anything like it won't either). It is cancelled if you cast another spell.

The animation is the same as evocation for mages.

great for a paladin/shaman stacking haste. Lets say the trinket holder had 325 spell haste it would then take them~6.627--with bloodlust a mere 4.63 seconds to finish the normally 8 second cast. It will reduce the need on so many pots, and if you are like me who doesn't want to switch to alchemy be nice as well.

This would be a great item for a druid that itemizes spirit, while channeling this you get alot more mana than just the 250 per second due to being out of combat.

If you don't have either one of these then the Glimmering Naaru Sliver is an upgrade.

Also, something of note is that +spell haste shortens the duration of the channel effect. I'm at 232 spell haste unbuffed and the trinket is 6.97 cast time.

A fight that allows you to go 7-8 seconds without taking damage or doing healing will probably not be one that priests or druids will have mana issues on anyways. So, probably better for paladins or shamans, but as mentioned above I see those 2 trinkets as top of the line for them as well.
