Each time you gain the '100 holy energy', do you also gain a buff that lets you know how much energy is stored up? Otherwise it might be harder to use this to its maximum efficiency. Just a thought.

A lot of these comments are pretty short-sighted by calculating hp/s. This trinket not only has a 15mp5 passive effect, it also gives an entirely new spell. A 2k instant heal can save people and I for one will be using this trinket well into the next expansion if this type of trinket is unique.

Yo, here's some info straight from PTR.

- The amount of energy you have can be ascertained by the number of stacks the buff has. If you have 10 stacks, you have 1000 energy.
- The buff on yourself that stores the energy lasts 10 seconds
- Using the trinket does not produce a Global Cooldown effect
- The trinket has approximately 10 yards range
- The trinket can be used with 0 energy, and then it heals for 0

My opinion, as a druid:

- The buff on yourself that stores the energy lasts 10 seconds -- It should be more like the Lightening Capacitor, worst case scenario a healer starts the fight with a full stack of 20 and gets ONE free 2k heal
- The trinket has approximately 10 yards range -- As compared to the 40 yard range of most heals? That seems kinda... not good
- The trinket can be used with 0 energy, and then it heals for 0 -- If youre dumb enough to do it, you deserve the cooldown
- It is not affected by +healing gear -- Thats good , no insane 5k instant heals
- It can crit -- Huzzah!

If this little sweet thing stacks procs with LB (lifebloom). any resto druid wants it, if u cast a Lf every 6 seconds to keep the stack of 3 up, u will have around 1100 energy rdy, and if cast some rejuvations mean while u will have 1500 energy to spare every1 minut. a very nice trinket indeed.

Do take note that this trinket is ilvl 115, much lower than what most had assumed upon release of the "fake" screenshots.

As a note, this trinket was also nerfed to 2 min cooldown from 1 min in a very recent PTR update for reasons unknown.

This trinket might be a useful paladin trinket for smaller arena brackets, where we struggle against double dps, concerted CC efforts and especially curse of tongues.

For balance druids playing healer, this is an incredible item. While the potency and efficiency of our heals is fine, and our mana pool is more than fine, we lack a "zomg need heal now" spell. Everything is fairly slow to act, and needs to be cast many seconds in advance. This trinket would do a lot for that.

It will collect about 200 +heal for every heal you do, effectively making a Flash heal free every 20 heals a priest does. Making all your healing spells about 35 mana less! So what a trinket!

On the latest PTR build the buff appears to last forever, and has increased range.

Collects any kind of healing spell (Nature or Holy), but I havent tried with other stuff like Improved Leader of the Pack ect.

I got this today, March 25th, and the range is 40 yards, the same as any other healing spell. It is not affected by bonus healing, but abilities such as Fel Armor boost its healing capacity (Healed for 2520, and crit for 3000 with FA). Amplify Magic does not boost it, though, which I found interesting.

Gonna take it into Sunwell soon and try it out then.

No doubt this trinket would be fantastic for any healer looking for a Kara/ZA trinket, but it's value will diminish like any piece of gear as you progress through instances.

The following is all true from Live:

- Trinket heals for (current number of buff stacks) times 100; max 20 stacks, one stack per heal you cast
- Trinket gives a buff stack for any heal you cast (nature works, too, not just holy spells)
- The buff is permanent and is not dispellable (you could stack it to 20 before starting an encounter/arena match then use it at will, it won't just wear off)
- 40 yard range on the trinket's use effect (same as other heals)
- Using it doesn't trigger the GCD, nor is it affected by the GCD
- It can crit (and will crit for 0 if you crit when using it with 0 energy stored up)
- Receives 0 contribution from +healing (/sadface)
- Doesn't count as a "spell" from all I can tell; it doesn't proc Nature's Grace upon critting, for example.

Notice the part "Collects 100 Holy Energy from healing spells you cast." isn't singling out any particular school of magic. I think that whatever school of magic the healing spell is connected to should cause this trinket to collect its 100 Holy Energy. However, I'm not sure about that and am just wondering and what someone to confirm that.

Also, would this Holy Energy collecting effect on this trinket work with the warlock spell Drain Life? What about it working with Gift of the Naaru too?

What schools of magic does it work with to collect Holy Energy?

So ... battle master / duel battle master procs 5 heals when it procs ... so duel wielding ... you could get all 10 charges in 2 hits. Question is ...

1 - Does it work
2 - How fast will Bliz nerf the hell out of that if it does
3 - How $%^&ed would you make a healer by ninjaing this w/ a rogue

Tips for Priests:

1. Great when paired next to an Inner Focus heal to get a large amount of heals out while not triggering the 5-second rule.
2. ProM does not count for the stacking affect
3. After you get buffs out in arena, spam Rank 1 heals to get a head start on the stacking effect for an early use.

Picked this up on my priest last night. Haven't had much time to play with it, but:

1) The buff lasts forever, so you can work up a 20 stack while waiting for a pull and save it for an emergency heal
2) It can crit (crits for 3300)
3) It heals for 2200, not 2000 like the tooltip suggests
4) Any heal you can cast will add a charge (I worked up a 20 stack with rank 1 lesser heal, 25 mana per cast)
5) You can use it while silenced

All in all this is a pretty sexy trinket. I think Priests and especially Paladins would benefit the most from it, lacking other instant heals, but since you're not going to have more than one healer in a 5 man it's a moot point.

Edit: Looks like it benefits from the Spiritual Healing talent in the priest holy tree (+10% heals), a druid guildie who has it only heals for 2000/3000, even though he has Gift of Nature which should give him the same boost. I can't see this going unnerfed, but for now holy priests get 10% more heals out of it.

For those of you who use Clique here is how you go about setting it up so you don't have to target the individual you are using the trinket on.

1) Open your Clique menu and hit the "Custom" button.
2) Select "Use Item" and assign the combination you want to set it to.
3) In the "Item Name" field, type the name of the trinket, "Vial of the Sunwell". Then hit "Save".

I have to admit, when I first got this I had no idea how I would use it. But then I started thinking about how to macro the use of the trinket. There are so many posibilities here if you use this with a macro. I am a pally healer and I can see several options.

BoP + Heal
Pally healers can cast Blessing of Protection on a softie. This will inmunize them from physical attacks when they are getting beat up in the face. You can macro the trinket and instaheal the softie after BoP.

Cleanse + Heal
Same as above but you cleanse the target then instaheal them mana free.

InstaHeal + Holy Light
This can also be used in a macro with Holy Light. If you are the Main Tank healer you will be spamming Flash of Light which will charge up the trinket. In the case where the tank is getting spike damage you can cast your macro and instaheal the tank for 2000 followed by the Holy Light big heal.

Healing Booster
You can create another macro to boost your Flash of Light healing. If you use Holy Light Rank 4 this works really good too. In the macro you use the trinket after the cast. While the trinket is in cooldown you basically charge it every time you spam the heals. Every two minutes, the trinket will trigger and boost your heal for 2000.

Since this has been dropping so many times for my group we gave the last one to our hunter for fun. Hilariously, Mend Pet counts as a healing spell and grants the hunter the Holy Energy necessary to use the 2,000 point instant heal. Good for PvP I'd imagine combined with rank 1 Mend Pet, or even damage-intensive scenarios in PvE; just don't try and take it from a healer who doesn't have it yet unless you want to be blacklisted. :)

Apart from using this trinket on any1 for an instant heal, i have macro'ed it next to my healthstones.

/cast Vial of the Sunwell

Since you kinda perma-cast on raids, this trinket gets 2000 energy quite quickly. With the above macro, you can heal yourself, without losing your target ( some tank or whatever ). It works, like a 2 mins CD Healthstone in other words :)

Just some quick comments to add.

Firstly I believe the crit chance of this trinket is based off your holy spell crit. I say this because I have been using this on my paladin for about a week and have noticed it crits significantly more than 5-10% and is around my own crit of 25%.

Secondly, it actually will proc direct healing spell bonuses you may have from other items. I use it in tandem with https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=30619 and have had the effect from Fel Reaver's Piston proc from the bonus heal. I have a feeling that https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=32500 would also cause the heal to be enhanced under certain conditions, but sadly I do not have access to the mace to confirm my theory.

The best aspect of this trinket is that it can be used while silenced or counterspelled, which as a paladin is a massive bonus to have in arena or certain boss encounters.

I would highly recommend to any paladin.

Priest 70 holy IMP DS:

-the buff lasts forever
-the buff will not be removed when switching trinkets
-the buff gains one charge from every spell excluding prayer of mending.
-Prayer of healing counts as one charge
-Binding heal counts as one charge
-Hits me for 2200, crits for 3300.
-Is Affected by Mortal Strike healing debuffs, IE it only healed for 1100 when I had aimed shot on me.
-Is not affected by bonus healing, is affected by select talents.

-The buff will be removed when you die (added in april 07

As someone has highlighted earlier on this post, on longer fights it may not yield alot more heals from your spells compared to certain trinkets, but what i can think of is it would be extremely handy for fights like Gruul where you might get silenced casting midway when your tank is low on health. This can be a lifesaver or rather wipe-saver. A trinket i probably wont be equipting all the time but will definitely swap in on fights like Gruul.

Casting Prayer of Mending does not generate a charge.
Casting Prayer of Healing generates 1 charge, regardless how many people were healed by it. I assume it's the same case with Circle of Healing.
The healing it does is unaffected by all but a few talents, like Spiritual Healing, thus the 110 healing per charge, instead of just 100.

While this item is great because of the mp5 amount and it's unique Use effect, I would rather use

This is because I, as a resto shaman, don't experience too many "oh ^&*!" situations - and if I do, NS does the job. 2 mp5 is however lost, but that is easily ignorable. The Use effect on Warp-Scarab Brooch is great combined with Essence of the Martyr's use effect - 579 extra bonus healing, which really boosts Chain Heal spamming. Just my opinion.

As the priest of my team has it already, My Warlock get this. Much to my surprise, Warlock 's Health Funnel can Collects 100 Holy Energy as well...So sometimes i treat it as a free potion..really nice ^ ^

EDIT:Drain Life, Siphon Life and Death Coil will not though...ONLY Health Funnel can

For shaman:

Charges on this do not build on Earth Shield casts or procs. One cast of Chain Heal only yields one charge.

As noted earlier, you will gain charges on it even if it is a full overheal. This means you can cast rank 1 Healing Wave during downtime (or before an arena match) to charge the trinket if needed.

I asked a Game master about the druid and shaman talents not affecting this trinket and he said that the priest and paladins talents will affect this trinket because it is a holy based heal.

Shaman and druids use nature healing and their talents only affect nature healing not holy.

It works as intended then.

While Druids have other instant heals (unlike the aforementioned Shaman and Paladin healers), I've found a lot of uses for this as a Restoration Druid.

It's great because you can heal in travel form and bear form without having to switch out. Definitely useful in PvP and mildly useful for Druids in, say, heroics, when "oh @#$%" moments can occur when your Swiftmend is on cooldown (and of course while silenced which was stated above).

Plus, it's always charged up due to the amount of times we cast HoTs.

Illidan took 7 vials from the original Well of Eternity.
3 he used to make the new WoE where the World Tree sits on, 2 he gave to Vashj and Kael, leaving 2 to be missing.
This is a stretch, but what if this is one of the missing two vials?
It COULD be viable since Illidan could have given Kael another vial and he used that vial, along with Aneeva, to make the "new" Sunwell, similar to Illidan and the "new" Well of Eternity.

The heal from this trinket can proc the Shattered Sun Pendant of Restoration, which theoretically could get a Scryer a double crit heal for a total of approximately 4000 health instantly and free of mana every 2 minutes. I would test to see if the Scryer heal likewise procs a charge, but I only have one on my Aldor character at the moment.

Troll priests: came up with a very cool macro for this. I only use max rank of Greater heal if the tank is getting spanked hard, usually I'm using Gheal rank 2. So when I need to drop on a max rank, I've been using this macro:

/cast berserking;
/cast Inner Focus;
/use Essence of the Martyr;
/use Vial of the Sunwell;
/cast Greater Heal(rank 7)

It immediately slaps them with the 2200 vial heal to keep them up, and the Greater heal is sped up a minimum of 10%. Popping berserking does start the FSR, but Inner Focus is still handy for the crit chance alone, usually give 10K heals combined together.

Just received this item a few minutes ago as a Warlock since our disenchanter already had one banked and couldn't loot it.

Health Funnel does in fact accumulate 100 Holy Energy PER CAST The application is mostly novelty since you really have to be spamming Health Funnel to accumulate any useful amount of healing on the fly, though idea of a Warlock running around with "Holy Energy" has boggled the minds of a few people in Shattrath tonight : )

As a holy priest working on late T5/early T6 content, I find that this usually accounts for a little under 1% of my healing on any given raid night. I only use it in emergency situations in boss fights; it's probably more like 1-2% of my healing during those fights (depending on how often emergencies arise). It would take about 70 +healing to match that if I were only casting Greater Heal, Circle of Healing, and Renew. I do sometimes cast heals with lower +healing coefficients, so the effective +healing value for this trinket is even higher. And it delivers all of that extra healing instantly, in a burst, when I need it, even if I'm silenced or out of mana. And, as has been mentioned, it can occasionally help keep me out of the five-second rule, helping a little with mana regeneration. Plus 15 mp5 as an extra special bonus.

As far as pre-Sunwell, non-crafted priest trinkets go, I think this one is only really bested by the Earring of Soulful Meditation and the Memento of Tyrande (and maybe the Bangle of Endless Blessings, if you're really hard up for mana).

An odd yet effective hunter trinket for arenas, just prime it before combat with mend pet spamming, and you have a 2000 health heal ready anytime during combat, for yourself or even others.

Great trinket for any healer.

As noted previously, it can be used while silenced, made the Azgalor silences a lot less harrowing.

Also, remember that it's not affected by GCD...great heal to mix into your rotation when healing a raid member affected by Bloodboil.

It CAN crit, and it is affected by warlocks and their tricks, so I've hit for 3500+ at times.

Man, if only it had some +heal...

This item will trigger stacks from any heal spell. The "counters" don't go away until used and haven't seen em dispelled yet.

The way I figure it for a resto druid is this... I spam lifeblooms for the duration of the battle and with a macro this is similar to a slightly less powerful swiftmend. Add in some much needed mana regen and I am a happy little tree.

In PvP you can stack up a full 20 charges pre battle and you have another way to instantly heal 2-3k (with crit on effect)

All in all this is a really rock solid choice for spam healers or anyone in need of more MP5

Just got this tonight.

-Any healing spell will add a charge, regardless of rank. You still gain charges if you cast a heal on a target with full health. Lesser Heal, Heal, Greater Heal, Renew and Prayer of mending add charges; Power Word: Shield does not. I believe prayer of healing and desperate prayer do as well. I spammed renew rank 1 on myself to re-charge this after wipes so I could charge while running back.

-You gain a buff when you cast a spell that tells you how much holy energy is stored. There is no time limit on how long you can hold this buff, but you do lose it on death. It does not have the "Magic" descriptor so I assume it cannot be dispelled.

-This trinket does not cause a global cooldown and can be used while under the effects of the GBC like most other trinkets.

-It is not effected by +healing, but it was effected by a Warlock's Fell armor so I would assume other effects that increase healing such as Tree of Life work.

-I only used it 4-5 times so I don't know if it can crit or not. Other reports state it can, but I've never had it crit for me.

-I assume you can use this while counter-spelled as it operates outside the GBC. Also, as it costs no mana this should not effect the 5 second rule.

A free heal every 2 minutes is pretty nice in PvE, but PvP this trinket is especially good at keeping you alive as its instant and can't be counter-spelled.

Got it yesterday and I love it.
It can really save your tanks live in an emergency situation. Doesnt even trigger GCD, so I made a macro to combine it with Holy shock(=4k instant heal if noncrit). It is a Holy Based Spell, so it crits quite often for Palas. Tho I tried it last night in arena and its really awsome there also.

The ultimate for healadins. Far better than the other class trinkets that drop in there. When did you last see 15mp5 on a trinket? Especially b/c healadins often spam FoL in raids for mana purposes, this will always be ready. Combine with holy shock, and you have something sick.

Heroic MgT is hell tho, gg Blizzard for making a truly difficult 5 man with appropriate rewards.

heres the deal with shamans. it will add the buff every time you cast. so if you chain heal heals 3 people it will only give you the buff once. also it does not proc off earthshield or that would be insane. im thinking this would be pretty good for arena, its an extra heal for 2k, pretty nice. the 15mp5 is nice for a 5 man party, but i really see a trinket such as essence of the martyr or eye or gruul paying off more. also i know you may be thinking, PALADINS SPAM FLASH OF LIGHT this may be true, but theres a 2 min CD on the trinket, and a paladin will easily of alrady had 20 charges. so this is really good for any healer. probobly performing at its best in arena and 5 mans

My main is a resto druid, and I got this trinket, but to be honest, I'm not that impressed with it. It heals for 2k, sure, but the cooldown is 2 minutes. During that time, I can drop about 40 lifeblooms, rejuvenation and regrowths that would all be receiving the benefit of 84 or 88 healing with one of my other trinkets. Sure, the 15 mana/5 is nice, but with the reduced mana cost of regrowth and the int bonus to my mana regen, mana isn't really a problem. I guess this'll go in my bank, hoping that Blizz will add SOME plus healing to the thing to make it viable for me.

Even as a spirit priest I really value this thing. It is very underrated.

In PvP it's uses are obvious: 2200 healed when you are silenced or locked out will save you and your teammates lives many, many times. I macro it to desperate prayer for those oh-!@#$-heal-and-run moments, and on another key for when my target needs it.

In PvE it's uses are slightly less obvious. By dropping essence of the martyr or one of the level 70 rare healing trinkets you are going to lose 70, 84, or more total +healing, as well as the use effect of Essence. (I wouldn't replace a regen trinket with this, I love my Bangle too much) But you gain an emergency heal every two minutes, which I think there is a lot to be said for.

You can theorycraft this all you want and figure out your estimated +healing from the trinket (it's not hard, average how many spells you cast/two minutes in a boss fight and divide) and it will be a lot less than 70. But it's strength is giving you control over when you use your +healing. I can't think of very many times when I've though: "man, with another 40 +healing I could have saved that tank's life," but I think in the future with this trinket there will be many times when that 2200 heal saves myself or the other healers time to save the tank or DPS.

Too add to this, it's another way to keep yourself in the FSR if you're desperate. Holy Concentration Proc -> Bangle/Earing -> Inner Focus -> Gheal -> Trinket could get you more than 1k mana back.

Edit: I understand that Hunters can use this with Mend Pet for a heal in 2's, but please, if you run Heroic MgT and this drops let your healer have priority. Don't live down to your reputation as wanting every piece of gear in the game.

This trinket is really good for shamans as well, The mp5 is great and when you do a healing wave, pop nature's swiftness and then this, it easily could be a 13k heal right there. I don't have it on my shaman yet, I plan on it though. Having 1800 healing gives me around 4.3k normal healing waves and 7.2k crits. This would be ideal for any healing class.
