If only the real PvP rings had one like this availible. I guess Blizzard is trying to get the high-end raiders back into the Battlegrounds with items like this.

Well yes i have noticed that, if you take 3 of the 'main' horde guilds on my realm several of their members got 2k+ rating, but then again theres some with 1.4k or those that just don't bother with PvP now you can't go and smash things up with your high end raid epics like you could in the 60 days.

Since the season one welfare purples became available along with season three Vindicator stuff, every class and spec can hit the battlegrounds and grind out a respectable set of Kara/heroic gear. Or, you can get PVP items with badges and tier tokens too. Granted it's not ideal for raiding and it's not going to get you on top of the damage/healing meters. So why is this stuff dropping? Because anyone can benefit from crit immunity at 220 resilience. It's not just for tanks and arena heads. 0 HP = 0 DPS/HPS. Survivability is really important until you can do those runs enough times to get the good drops and badges and start replacing PVP gear. When that happens you start losing resilience too, so these rings help keep up the crit immunity (or near immunity) for longer, without having to slog through the battlegrounds again.
