With the addition of this enchant, options for tanks are as follows:

Enchant Cloak - Steelweave = 12 defense rating/5 defense skill (0.2% miss, dodge, block, and parry for a total of 0.6% pure avoidance plus 0.2% chance to block)

Greater Agility still appears to be the best choice for a mixture of survivability and threat generation, but Steelweave most likely beats Dodge for the best defensive option.

This will be a great help to defence starved Paladins who are struggling to keep up with the cap. Though dodge rating is nice, pushing criticals off the table and improving base block rating is a big bonus which will allow gems to be changed, enchants to be reworked etc.

Similar to bracer enchants, this gives better 'defense to agi/stam/whatever' then in gems. So, its quite nice, from that point of view alone :p

This drops from Priestess Delrissa the third boss in Magisters' Terrace i ran the instance twice, once on my druid once on my priest. they are both enchanters. both runs this pattern dropped so i am assuming it is a fairly high drop chance. both runs were non-heroic.

Dropped for me on my first run yesterday. Between this and the new chest enchant with honored reputation, thats a lot of defense gems that can be replaced with say stamina or SD....

drop chance is not 100%, but its high. maybe 20%+ or so. Drops in 2nd run for me.

Very high droprate. I've done MGT 9 times so far & I've seen this pattern drop 4 of those runs.

This enchant actually gave me .08 more pure avoidance (not counting block) than the dodge enchant. It confused me, so I did the math by hand (recorded by before and after numbers,) did a before and after in tank points, and a before and after with my avoidance macro. All three told me I gained somewhere between .02-.1. Whatever this means, I don't know. Either way, it's slightly better for becoming uncrushable than any other enchant.

I am surprised that no one has mentioned how potent this enchant is for extreme end-game right now.

While the dodge enchant to cloak gives you ever so slightly more pure damage avoidance, this enchant contributes significantly more to your uncrushability. In terms of numbers, you give up 0.03% avoidance for 0.17% uncrushability.

At first this may seem like something that is only important to undergeared tanks or those whose gear lacks defense rating, however it is also very relevant to any tank who is progressing through Sunwell Plateau.

All NPCs in Sunwell benefit from an aura which increases their chance to hit by 5%, as well as reduces their targets' (aka your tanks') chance to dodge by 20%. Sunwell bosses can't crush, but against any other mob there using this enchant over the dodge one will result in more overall damage mitigated.

Yeah, there has to be a higher drop rate than what's presented. I've ran it five times today and seen it drop five times. Great enchant, dont' get me wrong. I'd have to say the drop rate is at least 80% bare minimum.

I've run MGT about 3 times and Heroic MGT about 15 times, and I've never seen this drop.

Same, Dropped from 3rd boss in MrT instance. Pst Swiitchblade on Aman'Thul Alliance to push up to the uncritable 490 defense.

This also goes on any items 35+ (item lvl) and above so will be a nice one for those twinky tanks too

Got this 3rd time I ran it. Didn't even knew it dropped on the 3rd boss just kinda a surprise...now to level enchanting to 375..
