maybe it's just bad luck, but i've killed literally about 100 of crazed/whithered ancients with no key drop

I got the key on the first kill as a lvl 23 priest. It took me 3 minutes to kill the bastard, but I don't complain.. :)

I killed 2 withered ancients and no luck, but then I killed a crazed ancient and got it. Now since I am a lazy bum who is too tired to look for the chest, where is it?

i just first killed a Crazed and there was only money and so i killed a withered and that dropped it. lucky me :-)

i killed about 200 and didn't get it
Maybe because i didnt realise i was in a raid and it may have lowered the drop rate
but i just abandoned quest and got it again and finally realized i as in raid so left and got it in 2 kills

So I get the key, go to open the chest, and accidentally move so it closes the loot box. The key gets consumed in the process. GG

I Get the Wooden key on first loot but then i used it i lost it i killed 1 more and it not dropped and 1 more and 1 more and last it dropped :D and so i used it

If it is taking you hundreds of kills to get this key, be sure to check your key ring. I had farmed for over 1.5 hours, then finally thought to check my key ring and there it was. I have no idea how long it was there, but make sure to check every now and then.

Quest is Raene's Cleansing
Raene's Cleansing about 10 of the treants, dropped. Friend got it on third try.

Chest is in a little alcove protected by two standing (not roaming) treants, west of road to Felwood, northern most part of Ashenvale, just south of Howling Vale.

I killed the first treant and got the key. And in the process of going to the chest I killed another treant and I got another key. now I've got an extra key =.="

Greetings from the future! Does this thing drop in Classic 1.13? Because I have spent nearly 2 bloody hours farming these tree dudes. 1 hour last night. 1 hour this morning, following the WoW-Pro addon guide. It has not dropped once. I gave up after coming here. I guess I am either unlucky as hell, or Blizzard hates me for crapping on Shadowlands.

I've spent an hour killing Ancients and I still haven't got the key. That's it. I give up on classic. Ridiculous.
Edit: Yes, I've checked my keyring...

I got the key on the 3rd kill, but it says I'm not eligible to pick it up. Could it be that my character is lvl 36, as it lists the quest as lvl 27 (minimum lvl 18)? I can see no other prerequisites I have not met.

The drop rate is not 45percent. More like 10. Had to kill 19 for the key to drop
