The drop rate on these seems to have...well dropped. I got one in the Swamp of Sorrows, after killing some 30 cats. Some sixty cats in Stranglethorn gave me 4 of them.

The buyout price shown (1g each) is pretty accurate. Because of the low number of plans that use this item, it may or may not sell at the AH immediately and be returned to you, but always re-post it without lowering the price because it will sell for 5g or more per stack. Not that much cash for higher level players but if you are still in the 30-40 range and looking for mount money, 5g counts for alot.

I picked up twelve in Swamp of Sorrows so I don't think the percentages are off. There is an island just NW of Stonard that has Swamp Jaguar distributed around the edge of the island. Just work your way around the island and you should average about one fang per circuit. The cats will have respawned by the time you get back to your starting point .

Maybe they fixed the problem. I tried a few weeks ago and no fangs dropped, but today I got three, killing tons of them both times.

confirmed again. drop rate blows. however, i dont think wowhead is incorrect. if you consider how often these SoS cats dont drop *anything*...

i would bet that the drop rate % is based on the times the mob actually drops something, so if, say, 80% of the time, the mob drops nothing, then, 10-15% of *that* would give you about a 2-3% drop rate overall, which is about what i'm dealing with atm.

chances are, these cats are not the best mob for farming em.

I find the best drop rates for this item comes from the STV mobs. I killed 5 elder mist vale gorrillas and got 3 large fangs. Also the croc's drop them fairly often.

I needed 4 fangs for a friends bracers, looked on wowhead for highest drop rate, flew to swamp of sorrows, killed over 100 cats to only get 2 fangs. Drop rate is wrong on this site.

I always remember tons of these dropping just when I didn't need them.

Don't bother. Gromsblood is infinitely easier to get than a couple of these.

Yeah, I concurr with previous comments. Best way is through Elder or Pristin(?) Gorillas. Drop rate is WAY better.

i have no problem at all getting them,i have had up to about 60 at a time farming leather from whelps in SoS i kill aot of them but its not that difficult

I find it useful to sort by the Count column rather than the % (percentage) column. Dropped column confirms that gorillas in STV are the best things to farm. Haven't confirmed in play yet as my char's only 20...

The drop rate on these is really never higher than 5% or so, so farming for them sucks. They rarely show up on the AH since most people don't bother listing white items. Your best bet is to go to areas where they have lots of drops (i.e. Stranglethorn Vale, Swamp of Sorrows, etc) and post on the general chat that you want to buy them off people. Since they only vendor for 75c you should be able to get quite a few people willing to sell you some for decent prices since they are probably just going to vendor them anyway.

I tried SFK and got nothing. I tried raptors around STV and got about 2 after 30 minutes.

Then I tried Cold Eye Basilisks in STV and got 4 in 15 minutes. It may just be my luck, but I just want to pass along this possible higher drop rate.

I need to find some of these to make barbaric bracers with leatherworking. As I noticed it said that several of the mobs in Stranglethorn drop them, I killed lots to try and get some, but not one has been dropped yet. Is there anyone who has found lots of these somewhere and can tell me where to get them?

I can confirm that the Yeti's in Alterac do NOT drop these fangs, I killed around 50 of them just now and I didnt get one. Dont waste your time here, you'll have better luck in stranglethorn

Contrary to the previous post, I had decent success with the raptors in Arathi ... both the Trashers and Striders dropped them, and since you also get the Raptor Hide needed for Barbaric Bracers, this was convenient. I got five in about 40 minutes, basically making a single circuit of the Arathi area.

I went there after getting frustrated with the Elder Crag Coyotes in Badlands ... I must have killed 100 of them and only got 3.

i have been looking for 2 days. traveling back and forth between Hillsbrand and arathi highlands. not one. ill say it again not one large fang has dropped. i have now leveled twice in looking for large fangs. dont know where to go next but look in STV.

went through shadow fang keep with my 37 warrior and a 40 mage. walked out of the instance with 3 or 4 of those. i only held on to them because i know they sell well at ah.

They drop off the tigers in STV as well.

These can be found as a drop from Lashtail Raptors in STV. The drops are quite regular. Happy Hunting

Family of Stranglethorn Raptors at loc 24,15. I would get 1-2 fangs every respawn of the complete family.
These are next to the baslisks so you can kill them as well for fangs.

If you are looking for these in bulk I strongly suggest you go to the badlands. They drop off of all lvl coyotes and tigers that spawn all over the zone.

They are located on practically every square inch of the zone so if someone is grinding or hording one location, it is very easy to find another location with tons.

The avg drop rate so far for myself have been 1 out of ever 8 to 10 kills.

based on loot table the best 2 places for these fangs are Badlands Coyotes have 4.3% and STV the shadow maw panthers show a 5% drop rate, keep in mind that theloot tanles arent always accurate so might be off by a little bit. But with my lock (67 Demo) I just Solo SFK a couple times and end up coming out with like 20 of em to send my lvl 30 druid alchemist Good Luck!

These drop of the darkmist spiders in duskwallow Marsh, the drop rate is fair, also if your a cook, white spider meat is here. I farmed the fangs and made enough food for my rogue for 10 levels by clearing the cave just 1 time. Theres also a rare spawn at the back a lot. Good luck

In Stranglethorn Vale, family of Lashtail Raptors at loc 31, 24. Not a great drop rate but the complete family respawns fairly quickly. It took a friend and I about 20 minutes to get 3 fangs.

Spent hours killing tigers and gorillas in STV, the droprate is poor (I got 1). I am nearly at the point of giving up getting them at all. I need them for my jewelcrafting. Big Sigh!

I looted 5 large fangs within a space of about 12 minutes with darkmist spiders (all types) in Duskwallow Marsh

I have grinded raptors at STV, it's pointless, only ever got one fang :/

You can also get 'Large Fang's from swamp of sorrows, green whelps drop then (occsionally) as to the swamp jaguars. I was there for around an hour the other day and got myself 26 green whelp scales and 9 Large Fangs.

Ive been finding them on Needles Cougers in thousand needles, only had about 2 drop in an hour if killing but they are there.

I've got all of mine from the Highland Striders/Thrashers in Arathi Highlands. A must for leatherworkers.

My current experience in Thousand Needles (as an expert leatherworker, skill lvl 225 and character lvl 30) is that I don't find Large Fangs on any mobs. My best advice so far is to go to Stranglethorn Vale and get it off the raptors, mostly above lvl 30.

(30, 23) is a great place to farm them on Lashtail Raptors.

3 out of the 5 ingredients for Barbaric Bracers drops from them (if you're a skinner.)

If u do all the hunter quests in Stranglethorn.. you should end up with a bag full )

Drop rate of Giant Yeti and Mountain Yeti is questionable. I killed at least 100 of them and got only 2 Large Fangs.

Left Refugee Point (Arathi Highlands) and killed a raptor that was in my path - dropped a large fang. Wanted the 12% drop rate since I needed 4 .. so continued to the Giant Yeti (with the 12% drop rate), frinded for several hours.. Never got a single one.

Went back to the raptors all around Refugee Point which dropped the remaining 3 I needed within 45 minutes.
