Best farmed from the Fire elemtals located near fire ridge plume (center of un'goru). Can be transmuted into 3 elemental fire's which is used to make greater fire protection potions, and thats why they often sell for a fair amount of gold.

Heart of fire Transmute : You can transmute the Heart of Fire into 3 elemental fire by gaining Friendly Reputation -Thorium Brotherhood to recieve the Recipe.

The NPC is inside BRD to buy the Recipe.

Drop rates seem to be messed up for this or something. After 2 hours of farming in Un'Goro I netted:
65 Essence of fire and
17 Heart of fire

If anyone knows a better place to farm this please post. They go for about 6-8 gold apiece on my server at the auction house.

Also used for weapon smithing sub-300. You need a ton of these or cores of earth/breath of winds. That also contributes to the price.

Has a okay drop rate in Un'goro crator in the Middle, the only problam is that there is not that many Fire elementals (the dudes u kill).!

OK, I'll admit the drop rate isn't nearly as bad as the Core Of Earth, but I have to say that there is no way these droprates are as high as Thott reports. I have gone days doing nothing but farming elementals in the Gorge (and I'm a rogue so I blow through them for the most part one a minute max) and I have gotten maybe one Heart every 100 kills.

I'm level 48 and not high enough level to even try the Entropic Horrors in Felwood, but by the time I can actually take those on I'll be high enough to make and use the Wicked Leather Headband so what's the point? The stats are just as good if not better just without the fire resist. Maybe this might be nice for raiding UBRS over and over with the fire resist but otherwise not worth the trouble (as is most of elemental LW).

you are better off farming Fire Elemantals at Un'Goro Crater, i've gotten 4 in about 35-40 minutes.

You're not getting them off of elementals in Badlands because they're not on the loot tables for those mobs. Try killing some mobs that have a chance of dropping them.

Try farming the fire elementals in the center of Un'Goro Crater. I wasn't even farming for them, but they dropped 2 for me in about 20 minutes.

What lvl is Searing Gorge, and what lvl is Ungoro? I'm a 47 undead rogue, could i make in either? The mobs for Searing Gorge that drop these heart of fire are said to be 45-47, but everyone tells me that searing gorge is 50+? Help me out please

The Gorge is about lvl 43-55 and the crater is about 48-55 i haven't tried farming in the crater but i'm going there now, i spent 5 hours in the crater and found a total of 7 hearts of fire. i'm in mind thats a pretty poor drop rate

I need two heart of fire for the elemental LW q, and was getting them from Un'goro. The first dropped on the 3rd mob, and the second on about the 14th. Get some essence of fire, coer of elements and a decent green cloak too.

wow I've killed about 80 magma and blazing elementals in searing gorge and got none! it's not 4% at all. I'll try Un'Goro later.

the guys in ungoro crater are easy and yes it is around a 6% drop rate...i suggest farming them.

44-48 :: Best location is in the Searing Gorge. Farm the Magma Elementals.
48-50 :: Best location is in Felwood. Farm the Entropic Beasts.
51-? :: Best location is in Un'Goro Crater. Farm the Scorcing Elementals.

These are all great non-elite soloable mobs that, if the right level, can be farmed easily by anyone. Keep in mind the lower the level mobs you are farming the less of a chance they will drop so you have to be patient with your luck.

Other good place besides Un' Goro is Shadowmoon Valley, at 'Hand of the Gul'Dan'. Also fire elements in the green lava. Drop rate higher, also more difficult 2 kill ofc.

In my opinion, if you need Heart of Fire, you simply must spend some time at Fire Plume Ridge in Un'Goro Crater. By killing all the elementals around the Ridge I get two Heart of Fire daily. I get Core of Elements, Essence of Fire, Coal, and all the Burning Pitch a growing boy needs.

If you blacksmith (the reason I need the heart of fire) There are sometimes two rich thorium veins there.

I start at the NE spiral going up and kind of circumnavigate Fire Plume Ridge Killing Everthing, looting what I can from the Elementals and Living Blazes.

It's becomming a routine everytime I log on.

1 hour grinding in Un'goro netted 8 Heart of fire, 12 Essence of fire, 30 or so brickets and 4 Elemental Fire. Luck or skill, I don't see there being an issue with the drop rate..

Well, you have better luck than I. 52 lvl druid. I go through them in about 17 - 25 seconds. farmed for an hour 1/2 got one heart of fire; 25 essence of fire; and 3 elemental fire. I don't ever have to stop for 30 seconds to take mana or health, so i grind consistently the whole time. The previous day, about 45 minutes resulted same result -- 1 heart of fire and that was with a mage tagging alone to increase the kill rate/speed.

I am quickly coming to the conclusion that elemental LW is simply to much effort to get the mats on your own. Instead, make middle lvl armor for the AH and just buy materials from the profit farmers.

i needed 5 for my priest to get tailoring up. so ah was dry. read ur helpfull posts and decided to roll out my 70 hunter. went to the top of un goro by the eleite.. take the bridge up to that platue, theres a fire pit below where 2 will spawn also. ne ways, i grinded for about 30 mins and got all 5 hof's and got 3 esssense of fires. i admit it would suck at that level, since i killed and buttload, too many too even count, with ubber epic gear. good luck. and remember in outlands farm these guys, and you'll be making gold of primal fire.

It's not too bad, i think the higher level you are the more they seem to drop, same with Breath of Wind in Tanaris from Gusting Vortex. Sometimes i'll be there for about an hour and not get anything but then i'll get 10 in 15 minutes. I'm level 65 warrior and i've been farming them for about 5 levels over past 2 weeks.

drop rates aint that bad if u can kill fast at the right place at the right level.

Crater is the far best area to get these - the drop rates vary a bit, but I killed 400 of them and got 9. Another time I killed 120 and got 7, the last 3 in the last 20 kills. As for the price on my server, 5-20 gold each, so farming is best. Circle Fire plume and if u do it right, never run out of them. As for telling us how many you got in any hour, are you lvl 55 or lvl 70. At 70 I can kill 150 in an hour, and at 55, well lets just say bad drop rate.

The drop rate on this thing is unbearably low.

In the last hour, I've farmed a grand total of:
46 Core of Elements
40 Burning Pitch
22 Coal
31 Essence of Fire
and only 2 Heart of Fires

This is in Un'goro Crater

I can see why i didn't find any on the AH now. It's not worth farming for profit. It's really not worth farming for any recipe that requires it has a mat.

*sigh* oh well, back to farming, i need 2 more....

I needed 8 of this to make "Helm of Fire" for my alt druid.
AH prices are insane, 9G for each!

so i took my 70 main rogue, head over to Un'Goro Crater.
started at 11:43 AM, finished at 12:30 PM with this loot:

8X
1X
1X
17X
1X which held inside of it
50X
9X

also gray items which i sold to vendor:
35X=1.96G
12X=1.86G

so overall, i spent nearly 45 minutes, and ended with quite a nice profit instead of spending 73G on AH for the Heart of Fire in the first place!

btw, if you don't have a 60+ to grind with, it will be hell for you :P

i needed a Helm of Fire for one of my alts so i went to Fire Plume Ridge for 8 Hearts of Fire on my level 70 rogue, wen i finally had 8 Hearts i also had

36 core of elements
20 Essence of Fire
5 elemental fire

its was about an 45 mins worth of farming, there was nobody there but me, it used to be filled with farmers at all hours on my server before BC.

Well , tried to farm them on my 70 ...absolutely horrible from a low pop server. No one else farming either....got 2 in 5 hrs. Lots and Lots of other drops tho..SAD

Could be pure coincidence, and I am sure it is, but I have noticed when Baron Char is around and Fire Plume is loaded with invaders the drop rate seems alot lower. Again could be pure coincidence. Farming Fire PLume for these is real hit or miss I usually farm about an hour or two with quick runs down to the slithering scar for thorium and get about 3-4. I have had times killing well over 150 and getting none (that baron Charr thing) and other times getting 10+. I would love to find a more consistant area to get these.

OK-

32 minutes on fire plume ridge. In that time I got:

Essence of Fire: 12
Core of Elements: 34
Coal: 14
Mountain Silversage: 20 (not as a drop, but just from the nodes around there. A really great place to farm this herb)
Heart of Fire: 2

However, there were also 20 empty loots, aka, nothing on the Mobs at all.

I did this on a 70 s1 arcane frost mage, so, expect to take a lot longer if you're a lower level.

I really hope those leggings are worth it for my shammy, lol.

Anyone noticed lower droprate in Ungoro? It says over 6% from the normal fire elementals there.

I've killed 202 now and only got 6 drops which is lower than 3%.

Farmed in Un'Goro with a guildie for Essences of Fire for his Robe of the Void. Got 4 essences before I logged (we went for about 2 hours). I don't know how many Heart of Fire he got (at least 4 himself, he had 3 after an hour when I asked). I ended the night with 6 of them and two Elemental Fires. No essences for me though.

went to felwood and it took 77 kills to get one, and got the 2nd one after the 94th kill. Comes to about 2% drop rate, not 6.5%. Here's the breakdown:

Tried to farm them about two hours in the Searing Gorge. Killed dozens of Magma Elementals and "Loderflammenen Elmentgeister" (might be the Inferno Elementals) but not a single drop.

Got only 2 average green drops, not worth the Food and Armor repairs :(

I can't find any of these on ah in Dalaran and I'm not high enough to go running around MC yet... :( Willing to pay any reasonable price for some, as I need them for leatherworking. Elendira on Horde side - COD them to me, if you like, or put them up on a neutral ah and let me know. I'll pay a little more than the average, but no, I'm not going to pay any ridiculous price for them. :/

I've gotten a lot of these (Heart of Fire) just killing the elementals around the volcano in Un'Goro Crater. Sold them all for nice amounts of gold, then found I'd need 'em for the elemental leatherworking quest on my rogue, lol. Oh well, back I go. But I recommend Un'Goro around/on the Volcano in the middle of zone. I usually get 3-6 of 'em within a half hour to 40 minutes every time I've gone. I've had much, much worse drop rates everywhere else I've seen listed for these things, although I haven't done MC. Good luck all!
