Horde chatacters cannot accept the quest that the necklace itself gives, but they can take the necklace to the salvage shop in Orgrimmar to start a quest chain that takes you back inside Uldaman.

The salvage shop is inside the Drag. Coming from Thrall's chamber, it'll be the the first building you can enter on the left side.

You can farm for this necklace by killing the dwarves outside the entrance of Uldaman. That way you don't have to venture in twice. (well, not for this quest anyway)

As an undead, it tells me that I cannot accept this quest because of my race...

That's the second quest this has happened to me on.

It does drop outside of the instance. I killed 3 mobs in a row in the North Common Hall and they all dropped one. It's just a matter of luck, I guess.

Why does it have to say "your race cannot complete this quest" if you eventually get a quest to retrieve it. I realize it's an alliance quest item, but the game leads us to believe it's completely useless to us. I trashed three of them on previous Uldaman quests. Now I'm going back yet again, hoping to get a fourth. Eff!

I had 4 of these drop on 4 consecutive mobs, left all 4 on the bodies because it said i coulnt us it.....going back tonight to see if i can get some more to drop! there gose a couple more hours of game play

Its so funny how people keep rambling about things that have no benefit to the others trying to use this site to gather information. Well Anyhow, the guys name is Talvash Del Kissel, he is a gnome found at the Location 36.3 in the Mystic Ward in IF.For those that do not use cords. He is located in the upper right hand corner in the Mystic Ward. Hope this helps GL....=)

I ran my level 35 NE hunter into the Badlands (just barely). I saw a dirt ramp on the right just as I entered the area from Loch Modan. The first mob I saw was a level 37 or 38 Dark Iron miner type. I targeted him and pulled him down the ramp and sent my level 25 Ghost Saber cat after him.

He dropped the necklace and some coin. It was the only mob I attacked in front of Uldaman. I left the area after looting the body.

Checked out this thread to see if it's worth hanging onto or vending.

I'm playing Horde, and by god it's annoying to get like two or three of these every time I run Uldaman.

I tossed this item after I got it, right-clicked and got the "This quest is not available to your race" message.
If you're Horde, there's a quest to obtain this in Orgrimmar, so don't throw it away. Just don't bother right-clicking on it: Necklace Recovery

4.17% chance to drop.

lol almost every Shadowforge Digger/Surveyor/Ruffian dropped it.

Taking me ages to get this to drop, anyone else having problems with it?

After camping the Dwarves outside for their power stones without seeing this necklace drop, I decided to stealth into the caves and get into the instance to start camping the Troggs for this necklace instead, seeing as this page lists their drop rates as being higher. I don't believe for one second that these drop rates are 8% and 18%, but I did get the necklace after about 20 Troggs compared to god-knows how many Dwarves, so consider switching to them after you're done with the power stones if you can safely make it inside, The Rockchewers and Oracles aren't much harder to solo than the Surveyors and Diggers.

Apparently Horde players can only turn this item into Droffers & Sons once. I've looted this item 2-3 times now and nothing after the first turn-in.
