This is an excellent sword that I would recommend for Warriros or Paladins. It has a fairly high proc rate. The holy shield absorbs several hundred damage which is very useful. I used this from level 47 until about 56 when it was replaced with Destiny.

This is a decent weapon with high damage and slow speed. Which makes it ideal for power hitting Warriors, Paladins or Shamans. The fact that it has no stats whatsoever is a huge drawback, considering many weapons of comparable level have about 20 or more stats total. The weapon's proc, while very cool isnt as great as it may seem. 175 Damage absorption while handy is about the same as 18 Stamina. Which means it's usefullness depends entirely on how many times it does proc in a lifetime. 3 Procs would equal 18x3 Stamina which is quite alot.

All around good weapon, but a shame it doesn't have any stats on it at all.

you are very righ shamans cant use swords at all maces and axes and staffs thats all i know

I just read the comment about the fiery enchant on the TSC. That's absolutely right. I am a lvl 60 warrior and I still use the TSC with the fiery enchant. Tried Doombringer, with better DPS stats, but it could not keep up. I think it's a great 2H sword.

I have used this extensivley with my 60 pally for test purposes, From what i've noticed the weapon work's as follows...

The TSC Proc like most weapon proc's is based off weapon attack speed times 2 ie 3.00 x2 = 6% proc chance

and since math in WoW is screwed up that happens more often than you would think.

Once Proc occurs it errects a barrier around you that absorbes 175 damage either physical or magic, only thing it doesnt save you from is falling damage(lol found that one out the hard way) Hope this helps some of you out, cya in game...

This Sword rules PVP for a Retribution Pally... my lvl 49 destroys with seal of command and whenever the shield casts i can get a quick heal in uninterrupted so i definately recommend it

I'm curious if this stacks with the Uther's Light trinket effect, or gives the PW:S debuff that would make you immune to the Uther's Light shield. If they could stack, it would be totally awesome, more so by the fact that they are the same level(would absorb something close to 400 damage, awesome for a 49 twink of sorts).

Anyone know if such a thing is possible to do?

I really enjoy the proc of the Shield this sword offers. I've added fiery to it and it's awesome. At level 59, I'm still trying to find something I like as much. I've bought Doombringer but it seems to proc just as I'm about to deal the final deathblow anyway. If I could have a sword that dealt more damage than the Champ but proc'd like it and I could add fiery or Crusader (I'm a holy pally.), I'd snap it up. It's a bit difficult killing the mobs I'm meeting now but not impossible. I'll take the Champ over Doombringer any day. Doombringer's just sitting in my packs.

And so far as price goes, one poor smith was so desperate to dump it (no one on our server appreciates the weapons and armor we smiths make, they'd rather have raid stuff) that he let it go for 7g. I almost bought it for my level 15 just to keep him from vending it. When my 15's big enough, she's getting the Champ.

Awesome, awesome sword.

This Sword is kickin For any Ret Paladin, 45 dps and the shield effect are prefect for tanking, Even if it only saves you from 175 damage It does it more then once usually per battle, And you can still lay on the hurt. I Personaly Went with The Iron counterweight instead of an enchant because More swings = More shields, And it still raised my Dps up to 92.4 and with Seal of the Crusader im doing 120dps.. absolutly brilliant sword.

I've heard alot of good things about all 3 of these weapons...

First of all, I'm a paladin.

I'm just wonderin' what to get. Theres people here saying they use TSC until 60! But then again I don't know if I would do that. Icebreaker is supposedly REALLY awesome for a Paladin ( such as myself) but TSC seems to be good also. And then there's Kang the Decapitator... I really doubt I will get kang but w/e its a possibility. TSC has the lowest DPS of them all but the most useful proc imo. While Kang and the Icebreaker have higher DPS, but kang is slower, and Icebreaker is faster. Icebreaker procs for a fireball damage, and kang has a bleeding effect. I just dont know what to use so I need some opinions please

I made this sword for my alt retri pala cause when i've made it i was already lvl 55 with my warrior and i couldnt sell it so my pala got it, as for the sword itself imo its best blue 2h weapon at that lvl for retri palas,since its craftable and therefore geting it dont depends on drop, the only thing that realy sucks about it are mats, they are very hard to get if you want to make it for yourself and you are 47, apart from ah ofc, that especialy goes for star ruby&breath; of wind

I just picked this up on the AH for 24g. The damage on this is pretty brilliant, even for a Prot-spec Paladin. However, because of its slow speed the shield only procs occassionally. If you can team up with Shaman and get Reckoning and Windufry to proc at the same time, while running SotC to speed up attack speed, it helps the proc rate though.

I built this for My Pally - Moved from Bone crusher which i had from Lev 35 - and the difference is great - I have not had Either Kang or the other one mentioned here to compare too

Sheild is good - give's some time to
1. Deal more damage without use of Mana and Spell hits
2. Lets the next fight begin Without Buffs required - or can be added while shield on
3. On Equal level Baddies usual 2 to 4 times sheild is active

If i ever get BoW again i will make another for AH I recon its good for 30 to 50 gold

The coolest thing I have heard about the proc is that even though the Holy Shield asborbs only 175 Damage,that if something or someone hits you for say for 475 in a single blow, it absorbs all the damage instead of just the 175 and then hitting you for the other 300.Of couarse the shield will desolve instantly after such a hit but it still would be nice to stop that single attack from hitting you.Can anyone verify if this is true?I can make this on Korialstrasz but I cant use it yet.I think I am gonna wait to retire my Fiery War Axe until I can use this.(A sad day,I looked for that Axe for about two months)

just wondering but i had mats for this when i was farming mats for phantom blade but decided to go with this and was wonderin now im DW a vanquisher's sword and scouts blade at 48 and im a hunter should i use as a backup or sell it (i have +5dmg to it also)

I have firey enchant on my truesilver champion, and it kicks the crap out of my nightblade with crusader. The holy shield procs a lot more than i've heard. At least once or twice a fight. It says it will absorb 175 damage which is true, but if a mob hits you with an attack more than 175, holy shield will absorb the entire hit, of course it will then go away, but it's nice not having to take that hit. I've noticed that mobs that stun will do away with the holy shield. But man, if you can afford this weapon, GET IT! Not to mention it's one hell of a good looking sword =)

just a hint to all you hunters - this weapon is entirely useless to you. go buy something with +agility and/or +stamina.

This sword, in my opinion, is amazing. It has lasted me so long, and saved me multiple times. There have been many times that I have gone down to low life, and this sword kept me from dying. Very good for people who like to fight multiple things or high level things. It was well worth the money I paid for the mats, and I would never regret getting it.
The shield actually does come up quite often, I've found. It is such a useful sword, too. And once you are finally done using it, which is a sad event, it sells for quite a bit. I will miss this sword when I have to sell it, as it has been a great help in my adventures. I would recommend it to anyone.

I bought this at AH for 8g buyout, damn good price, using it on my 49 Troll hunter, gonna keep it for awhile, shield helps when pet doesn't keep aggro or when fighting Alliance that are among the few to realize when Hunter dies, pet disappears, just one problem, being able to shield alot kinda makes me feel Paladinish, even though its Priest style shield, and I don't like feeling Alliancish.

Man this is a great sword, but wats up with the ingredients? I mean, 30 Mithril bars?/Thats crazy! And Truesilver aint a piece of cake to get either. But sayin that, it is a VERY nice weapon. Enjoy!

this is going for around 45g on the AH on Greymane server.... which is outrageous..
I got the mats myself (miner) and saved so much $$

With lower level enemies the shield seems to proc every second hit with me...

great sword... wish it had some +stamina stats or something though

Only way to get this sword is to have it made by a blacksmith.

Ingredients are as follows:

30 mithril bars
16 truesilver bars
6 star rubys
4 breath of wind
8 solid grinding stone
6 thick leather

I've counted the shield at about 170-260 damage. It procs really frequently, and is a good solid weapon you'll be able to keep for quite a while :)

Got mine for only 12g, and have been using from 48-52.

Hello, just to summarize all the messages below:

Sword SEEMS to proc on % not on per minute.
Sword procs Holy Shield similar to priest spell, however, priest spell can stack.
Shield lasts 60 seconds or ~100-150 damage

breath of wind drops from the swirly wind mobs in silithus, get a lvl 60 alt or guldie to farm for you, 4 bits takes approx 2 hours to get though, drop rate is worse then anything ive experienced however the lvl 60 will drop the odd essence and green items too, if not hitting lucky as well with an epic..

I use this shield and can confirm the following:

It goes off roughly once every three fights, and the shield absorbs exactly 175 damage.

I can also confirm paladins using this will not get spellcasting delays while the shield is active. Use it to get a heal in.

So.. I'd like to say this goes off about 5% of the time or so? That sounds about right.

Great sword. I got it for my paladin, and now my warrior, too.

Bought on Arthas in AH for 19g when i was lvl 46. i was so excited i grinded as much as possible in order to get 47, I equipped it today and I am very happy with it. Great damage and you gotta love this shield proc. (btw, just so everyone knows it is a 60 second shield OR absorbs 250 damage). Good luck on getting it, you'll love it.

i was using bonebiter at level 45 before i got to use this... my burst damage was ok but speed was definitely on the low side. i bought one of these for 20-30g (i forget how much exactly. there were TWO for sale at 9g but i missed the auction >< ), skilled up in hinterlands and when my skill got closer to max i REALLY started loving it. i put a +5 weapon damage on it, so burst damage is still about the same but i'm killing mobs faster than i did with bonebiter.

the shield is great, it procs fairly often (maybe once every fight or two) and already got me lmao when i went to kill a named troll mob and his pet in hinterlands ^^ i popped retaliation and the poor bastard's hits bounced off the shield.

i'd like to try my luck with sul'thraze soon...

Getting all the other ingrediants is easy if u got money to get them from AH.

But its the Breath of Wind which is really rare to get which is only dropped by Gusting Vortex's Which are a rare Mob in Tanaris and are a Pain to find.

They also drop from Some Raging things which are also rare and a Cyclonion which has a drop chance of 18% and can only be killed by warrior quest.

i need help on this ppl...ive been reading thro this thread and it seems like the ts is a pretty good weapon to get but i saw another weapon with nice stats ...i like that also but which should i get? money doesnt matter...i have plenty...btw im only lvl 45 now and should i wait 2 lvls for this? or should i just buy the blade of titans

its the same as power word shield, but it doesnt cause the weakened soul. if grouped with a priest, they can still use their sheild on you, the sword's sheild is seperate

I bought this last night for 34g. A little over priced maybe but there were 2 others on also one for 40g & one for 45g. Cant use it till my next level (Cant wait to get home and lvl so I can use it :D) Should be a great weopon for a pally!

Actually only a Weaponsmith with skill of 260+ can make this, if you see one get it quickly the ingredients are rare and for that reason it's a pain to make.

Mithril is piece of cake to farm. Magic magic Badlands :)

Truesilver is an effing pain in the backside. Rrrrreally sucks getting that .... Desolace, Tanaris, and the highlvl Zones of the badlands, recommended by someone who had to farm enough TS for 4 people doing the Armorsmith Q at the same time :(

Tanaris is the place where the Breath of Wind Drops, from Gusting Vortices, but if you're there, slay Land Ragers as well (Shared Spawn afaik)

As for the gems : Either you are lucky or you visit the AH :)

Wow to this Sword. The Truesilver Champion took me from 50-60 with amazing results. The holy shield is a life saver to say the least and when this puppie is used with +8 sharpening stone...mmm. I recommend this sword to take Paladins from 47-60 and then get some better swords later on, trust me, this one is worth the amount of money or whatever you have to do to get it!
