Excellent offhand for a rogue or DW shaman at level 40. Mid-range speed plus good stats means you can use it for quite a while. Keep in mind as a shaman that while you will probably find weapons with higher DPS that can be equipped in the offhand, you will lose damage on Stormstrikes due to this weapon having a higher top-end. So if you're going for burst damage, this is a good investment. For rogues, mace specialization means that wielding this over a higher DPS weapon gives you more opportunities to proc stuns, which are deadly in PVP.

While Heaven's Light has been changed to be one-handed in 2.4.2, this is still a great option for enhancement shamans and fury warriors if you can't pick up two of those.

This is a reference to the popular Diablo Series.

In Diablo 1, there was a character called Wirt, who lost his leg to Diablo but escaped. He then lived in a town called Tristam. You could buy a rare item off him, and it costed ALOT of money.

In Diablo 2, Tristam is overrun by demons, and at one point in the game, you Revisit it. You can get "Wirts Leg" a mace with poor stats. (This mace unlocks The Secret Cow Level, however)

Then, in Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne, at one point you kill "The Butcher" (A boss in the first Diablo) and then an item drops called "Wirts Second Leg" This is an obvious reference to Diablo, and the leg serves as no use...

And in World of Warcraft, we have Wirts Third Leg. A random mace drop.

In WC3:TFT the butcher mob dropped an Item called Wirt's Other leg, not Wirt's second leg

Have you played Diablo? Wirt was an NPC with a wooden leg in Diablo 1, and he died when Diablo attacked Tristram. You can find his wooden leg (Wirt's Leg) in Diablo II.

I found four in one day at the pirate compound in Lost Rigger Cove. Two came from Pirate's Footlockers. The other two I hauled out of the Captain's Chest.

It's a replacement for the grey loot "A Wooden Leg." Thus, it can only be found in three spots: Footlockers, Captain's Chest, and Pirate's Treasure!. It can't be looted directly from any mob.

There is a cow level in Diablo 2 (+ expansion)

There is NO cow level in WoW, even if there is a cow king's hide!

Don't belive anyone who said they seen or heard of a cow level in WoW. It doesn't exist and didn't exist in the beta either!

Got this with my main character and am using it on my Rogue. Had it in the AH on Hellscream but apparently no one knew the story behind this :) and didnt want to spend my asking price. Now im happy i have it since its just fun to have. More and more people recognize it.

There can be more than one on a server at a time. There were two in the Destromath Horde AH a couple days ago. Don't try to fool yourself too much, it's just a weapon. 20g is a fair price for it, don't expect anything too grand.

Was fighting in Tanaris, and looted one out of a pirate foot locker dropped by a 45 Southshore pirate.

Not a bad weapon for a mace spec rogue actually, nice and slow with high Min dmg.

This reference comes from Diablo Series also made by Blizzard:

Wirt was a one-legged cynical-manic boy in Diablo 1 who would sell you magical items at outrageous prices.

Wirt died in Diablo 2 in the Town of Tristram. You are required to loot his "second" leg (i.e. his wooden peg) to open a bonus level full of cows.

I am guessing to keep consistency and dissociate his wooden leg in Diablo 2, Blizzard to name this item Wirt's "third" leg.

Someone on my server said you have to have this in hand, and have a warlock summon you. They said the party he was in was ported to a small instance zone . I dont know what happened after that. Saw this for sale now around 400g....

Can anybody confirm, this or is it just a drunk guy who played to much D2 ?

I got this yesterday from looting a pirate's footlocker...suprise to me, it sold for only 13.5g and nobody would buy it for more then 15g...wtf?

I just picked it up in the, as a friend refered to it as, "ooooooooober pain in the ass non-quest" The 3 map fragments put together to form a treasure map, in tanaris.

i found two of these in less than half an hour while questing in tanaris, very nice. not the absolute best for the level, but still pretty good.

found one in a pirates junkbox, and the other in the chest you get from the treasure map quest.

These are not rare at all. I have had 5 of these now from grinding the pirates in lost rigger cove. They dont sell on AH for more than 5g but they do disenchant into small brilliant shards every time though. Great for Icy Chill enchant ;)

I have two of them ready to go. For my Rogue this is the best choice of weapon for several levels. They are always up at the AH selling between 10g-20g. I bought 2 cheap ones as I saw them. Will give me a combined +18 Agility +8 Stamina.

Would be nice to dual-wield these as a mace-specced rogue, ne? I see this weapon up for sale constantly on the auction house, so it seems plausible.

As i've been able to see, theres only 1 of theise on every server :o, I'm currently the only one with one, on horde side, ive talked to my allaince friends they said no one has one. So im thinkin its a "unique" item that can never be found again on that server, so woo? :)
