This mace is very good it dose a lot of damage and is fast for the damage that it dose and it slows the targets weapon speed down just like the warriors attack.
I loved it when I used it in my 40s. (=

Works great up to late 40's. Attack speed is a little slow, but DPS is still decent. Coupled with windfury weapon and flurry on an Enhancement shaman, makes for decent damage. Proc is useful too.

It took a little bit to adjust to positioning mobs so a Thunderclap proc wouldn't break a sap or a blind. The 8 yard radius on the effect means that you can hit a mob with the thunderclap, even if you couldn't hit them in melee.

I'm assuming it would be the equivalent if you hit all the effected mobs with a 7point melee hit. The effects don't mention a threat increase, unlike the warrior ability by the same name.

Got this today on my enhancement shaman...only have one complaint. When the thunderclap on the weapon procs it uses up one of my stormstrike charges.

Only problem I have with this weapon is make sure you don't use it in Zul'Farrak. Those scarabs aggro if hit with the proc, could mean a wipe if you were actually in the scarab room.

But then again, your Stormstrike would deal a whole lot more damage with a 2.7 speed weapon than a 2.0 speed weapon, assuming same level.

Having a 2.0 speed weapon equipped (be it main- or offhand) would severely lower your DPS, even if it reduces your Windfury "downtime" by a marginal amount

Having slow weapons as an enhancement shaman is far better then having fast weapons. You may get more Windfury procs but they won't do nearly as much damage as with slower weapons.

This weapon is truly overrated in my opinion.

Shamans: Yes it's slow and have a great amount of damage, tho it will burn 1 point of the stormstrike debuff as its proc and you can find a better one with stats. Tho I would say you could use it as a upgrade from a smaller amount of damage weapon as ~40-80ich.

Rogues: Would be nice for SS/hemo, tho the proc is... kinda nice too but it would give small amount of aggro in grouping, that could be a little problem.

Warriors: Kinda same as the the Rogues tho fury build with flurry and WW and so on. Tho you could get better.

I'd say go with a https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=13027# or a https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=1721# as DPS.

Tanking: Proc would give some +in getting aoe aggro, tho this weapon is slow so it's worthless.

A protection specced warrior or paladin will benefit most from Hand of Antu'sul. Its AoE damage helps to generate aggro against multiple targets, while the AoE slowing effect helps to mitigate damage. Both threat generation and damage mitigation are essential to good tanking.

The downside is that its base DPS is somewhat low compared to other blue one-handers of this level. Single-target tanking is better done with a different weapon.

Does anyone know if +Nature damage applies to this weapon? Because if it did, then it would be great for a Shammy with some +Nature damage gear.

I sometimes find it funny how these turn into a winefest over which class the item is best for.

I can tell you, this is NOT a druid weapon; Druids in bear or cat form (the only time they should be in melee or at least the only time they should care what their melee damage is) don't get weapon procs and don't benefit from a weapon's dam/del so they should be looking for weapons with loads of stats instead.

I can tell you this is NOT a hunter weapon; Again since they mainly range attack their weapon(s) are stat slots first and dps/procs come second. If you are a hunter then you are not allowed to disagree with this until you go back and delete all your pro-hunter posts for lvl 40+ leather/cloth items.

If you have ever played the role of "tank" then go up and read Stefania's comments on the subject. If you are a "squishy" (priest/lok/mage) then shame on you for even looking this weapon up!

If you are a Rogue or Shaman the ONLY times this is useful is solo or escorting lowbies, otherwise it's too much AE hate for non-tanks. Coincidently I was wondering what would help a rogue when escorting lowbies and in an unrelated search found this.

If I ever see this drop in ZF on my rogue I will only roll for it if no warriors or paladins are interested, all of you are free to agree with my opinion or piss off your group, it's your decision.

kollins.... u fergot to mention a big reason in why this is not a hunter weapon. you said how they mainly do range attacks but you left out how they cant even use maces so no one should be saying this is a hunter wep.

i got this last night on my 43 Warrior and it is a great weapon for tanking and goes well with my green tower however i think it would also make a good shammy weapon (the proc can get annoying as it breaks polymorph and sap etc)

haha, funniest thing happend 2 me couple days ago. I was runnin zf wit my guildies and then this drops. since im a rogue and i have phantom blade in my main hand i passed it. then this stupid hunter needs the mace.....:(.(hmmm whats wrong wit that picture)ne ways my pally friend got mad so he booted him.

Yeah, you could tank with it, but I always prefered a fast weap when I tanked (your main ability to maintain aggro is a smart use of taunt followed up by a sunder, but also if you need to get a hit in a fast hit usually outweighs a slightly bigger hit timed later)....and if you are counting on a proc to maintain aggro, you aren't much of a tank.

It's prolly the best combat rogue weap at that level, or one of the best.

If I was running with my guild, where the weap goes to the one that can make the most use of it, I'd say it would make a much bigger impact on a combat rogue than any other class, due to the slow weap speed. I'd pass on it if I was playing a warr in favor of a rogue, thats for sure. That's not to say a warrior couldn't tank with it, but it's not really an optimum tanking weap.

Ever occured to you that a warrior isn't tanking all the time? Have you ever seen a warrior solo grind or do PVP with a sword and shield? A warrior have use for this weapon. You're right it's not good for tanking, but everyone who's ever played a warrior above lvl 20 knows that you should have multiple weapons and armours. One set for tanking, another set for doing PvP or grinding. I'd take this weapon over a paladin or rogue any day.

This Mace is very good. It rivals a few other weapons out there in the same level range (Ripsaw, Phantom Blade being main ones) which are easily attainable.

I've used all 3, and you may have noticed all 3 of these weapons are main hand. To be honest i'm not much of a MH switcher, so i decide on which weapon is the best all-rounder and stick with it. I'd switch MH if i had to though.

The proc on this weapon is like a mini-Thunderclap. Wait, it's actually better than Thunderclap. Does less damage sure, but slows the opponents attacks by -1% more. Not much, but still more. Phantom Blade does a -100armor and makes target unable to stealth/invisible. The -100armor is a useful debuff, the other debuff not so much outside of PvP. Ripsaw 75dmg would is nice too. The Hand of Antu'sul and Ripsaw i see as even.

As i'm a Warrior this weapon is pretty useful for when i am in Defensive stance and can't switch to Battle stance to Thunderclap too often. Also you might say that this weapon is too slow for tanking, and it is kind of, but i'm Fury spec and crit a lot so my attack speed lowers due to Flurry (25% AS increase) so it goes from 2.7 seconds to 2 seconds, which is in the preferred swing time for a tank weapon (1.9-2.2spd).

The downside is that this weapons proc rate is about 3-7% of proc'ing per swing. Totally random. It will probably proc on the worst time too (breaking CC'd mobs). Also, when the proc does occur, is has the same graphic as the Warrior's 'Thunderclap' ability.

Still this weapon is very good for anyone who can use it (melee priority, sorry Mr. Moonkin/Priest guy). I'd say, after Warrior, that this thing is the best worn in the hands of a Shaman, then Paladin but it doesn't really matter.

Another little reason why i like this weapon is because it's like a miniature Thunderfury :)

So in conclusion on which of the 3 above mentioned weapons i'd pick:

1. Phantom Blade
2. Ripsaw/Hand of Antu'sul (which ever one you get your hands on first, of course if you're a Rogue/Hunter you won't have to decide which to take because your class can only use one or the other).

this weapon is great for enhancement shamans and the proc is very good, cause most of the time u do quests alone and stuff, u dont lvl only doing insts.

I got this, and put Enchant: Fiery Blaze on it from the badlands. As a Solo DW Enhancement shaman, I can say that both of them proc A LOT, and add a lot of cool aoe effects around me(3yds)....its fun

not good for instances.

It dropped in ZF. I'm enhance shammy and I won it. We went to kill a random Troll. It procced and all of those neutral scarab beetles got pissed. Trying to kill them, It procced again and pissed off more. Eventually we were fighting all of them. We wiped.

I haven't used it since.

Just to clarify on how often it drops:

Ran ZF 6 times in 2 days, dropped all 6 times. My point in this post- if you want this weapon, go to ZF, it's that easy!

Decent main hand rogue weapon for combat build, but not sure about aoe's in instances. That part can't be good.

I've got a prot pally and was wondering if anyone knows whether or not a +40 spell dmg enchant stacks onto the thunder on all surrounding targets whenever it procs ?

Am happy to say that + sp damage enchants on weapons does indeed buff damage done by procs on weapons like this. Spell damage enchants specifically says in their tooltip "all spells". Since weapons procs are classified as a spell within the game, it get the benifit.

Besides that, I tested it and it does indeed work.

Very AWESOME ITEM. If you take Combat, Spec in Sword, and mace. Have 5 in Each. Get Firey on this and Have an off hand item, its pure gold, I Killed 2 lvl 48 Horde shammys with this. IM LVL 45 AND I HAD NO BUFFS ON.

All it is, is a proc'ing thunderclap.

Warriors - this is useless for you.
Rogues - You don't want aggro generating from a mistimed thunderclap
Paladins - Perfect for paladins. We have no thunderclap, and its a nifty thing to have when tanking in lowbie instances. DPS is decent for the level.

Just got it recently on my ret paladin and was asked to tank Uldaman and it definitely help me generate aoe aggro in conjunction with my consecration and ret aura.

This IS NOT a baby thunderfury! This is a weapon that proc's thunderclap and nothing more. You have to make this distinction so that warriors don't roll for it and see that all it does is thunderclap. The graphic is thunderclap, the slow is only aoe on you like thunderclap and the effect on the mob when the proc goes off says "Thunderclap". Warriors have something like this already.... called Thunderclap. Thunderfury is more like Chain Lightning proc with a slow component than this weapon.

Hopefully that clarifies any myths about the hand.

if the proc didnt' do the worthless 7 dmg this would be a good mace, the aoe wouldn't break your stuns or polys or anything, the 7 dmg kinda makes it gay though. im a mace spec rogue and use it for now cuz the dmg is better than what i had before but when doing dungeons i usually have to use something else

Well imo this wep is really goot for enhance hsammky and if ur l33t enough u shouldnt have a problem in pve with these. however im wondering if they both proc would they stack? i already have 2 of them im just waiting to hit lvl 43 so i can use them. well if i dont get a reply i guess ill just have to test them out for myself. if they do stack its ganan be sick (22% wep speed reduction + FROST SHOCK= pwnage?)

I just got this on my lvl 45 HUMAN warrior. I was in a group with a dwarf rogue, a NE druid, a NE hunter, and a gnome mage. Since I am protection spec'd, and had the mace spec ratial trait, I needed it, but before I did I asked the group about needing it, and the only person who didn't want me to need was the mage. I ended up winning it because I was the only one who needed. Then the leader, the mage, yells at me for needing it because other people wanted it, but not needed it. I told him I would make better use of it then anybody else and would use it to tank. He eventually went on to say that anybody else could make better use of it. Eventually, when all was said and done, the group disbanded.

In instances, this is NOT a good weapon...especially for dps ( i see many rogues who say this is good/useful)..but it's NOT.

You are pretty much doing a de-buff and mini-thunderclap AoE to several monsters, which, at the start of the fight, will most likely grant you the highest threat of the monsters the tank doesn't start hitting, and it will cause more problems for the tank and your group.

For PvE it's okay...but I think this weapon should go to tanks first priority

This weapon isn't meant for anything other than tanking in PvE. Proc weapons on classes with stuns that break from damage are horrible. This weapon's great for tanking and not even worth rolling for if you don't plan on using it for that.

kind of useless inless you want a decently dmged 1h with aoe. but if you don't care about its dmg, and just want aoe proc, i don't see any reason to get this over toxic revenger from gnomer. why proc 7 dmg to 4 targets, when you can proc 15, to ALL targets? Toxic Revenger

even if dagger proc only hits 4 targets, 4x15 is higher then 4x7. its also a dagger, meaning you can still backstap/ambush for higher dmg, as opposed to sinister strike. then there is the fact that toxic is MUCH easier to get. most zf groups want to skip antu, fallout boss in gnomer however, you can probabaly just solo at this point.(enter front door, jump down, clear few mobs or wait for right time to pull. pull, kill, repeat till it drops) if you missed the dagger, just go back and get it.

as for the 10%slow add on, its just aggro magnet, which us rogues would rather be without. only class's id recommend this for is maybe a paladin or shaman. rogue is better off with toxic, and warrior can just cast thunder clap themself. druids won't melee enough outside of shapeshift to get much use either. since it only affects 4 targets, it should do alot more then only 7 dmg, in my opinion, maybe 20. inless they buff this up or downgrade the toxic, i don't know why anyone troubles themself getting this mace.(any class can use a dagger)

The proc on this weapon can be annoying. I picked it up as a mace spec rogue and I couldn't use it. It is an AE and it breaks all forms of rogue stun.

But i do agree its very nice looking. On a troll its HUGE as well, ther eis some satisfaction to be had there.

I have this equipt on my priest Along with Firey. when i run to low on mana. this is just the thing i need to survive, the Fiery does more damage than my swings "little pipe priest arms" But that thunder clap gives my just enough time to reup some mana for a scream. so i can bandage and go back at it.

Not sure whether this is intended or not but it triggers a hidden cooldown on thunderclap. So if you charge in, auto and the auto triggers the weapon proc, you can't use thunderclap for 4 secs even though it's not displaying a cooldown. This is somewhat annoying as the weapon proc creates far less threat than the actual thunderclap.
