Mythic+ Season 4 Affix Corrupted: Details & How It Works

The Season 4 Mythic+ Affix, Corrupted, is now available for Testing on the PTR. Activate Black Empire Obelisks to enter and traverse N'zoth's realm, defeat N'zoth's lieutenants and clear the dungeon! Skips are now available to everyone with the Corrupted affix and in addition, the Bwonsamdi buff is back from Season 2!

Introduction
The Season 4 Affix is
Corrupted
and will be the 4th affix for the duration of the Season. The Corrupted affix will place 4 Black Empire obelisks in the dungeon at various points. When interacting with an Obelisk, you will cross into N'zoth's realm and be attacked by the Obelisk's Defense Lieutenant. When the Lieutenant dies, a portal will appear on its corpse, allowing you to return to reality. While you're in N'zoth's realm, you are completely phased from the rest of the dungeon and are immune and invisible to everything in reality. You're able to use these portals to skip whatever you want, as long as you kite the Lieutenant to where you want to exit.
However, if you don't defeat all 4 Lieutenants before engaging the last boss, all remaining Lieutenants will teleport to the final boss and you'll have to defeat them all at once.
Everyone's favorite buff is also back! When the timer expires, talk to the Fish (yes, Fish) to reset your Sated debuff, and get a 20% damage and healing buff for the rest of the dungeon.
The Obelisks
There are 4 Obelisks in each Mythic+ dungeon. Each has a different name and has a different Lieutenant guarding it. You can see the outline of the Lieutenant by the Obelisk.

Urg'roth lo Spezzaeroi
Each Obelisk is placed in a spot that can be seen on your map. Some are placed in free areas, but others are placed inside packs of mobs.
By clicking on an Obelisk, you are teleported into N'zoth's realm and given the
Incursione di Ny'alotha
buff. You are completely phased from anything in reality.
You cannot click an Obelisk or Rifts while in combat.
When you activate an Obelisk for the first time, it spawns the related Lieutenant in N'zoth's realm. Any player in this realm can attack the Lieutenant.
If someone clicks the Cursed Spire of Ny'alotha in reality, you will see
Tessitore del Vuoto Mal'thir
in N'zoth's realm, but you will not see
Samh'rek, Invocatore del Caos
in the realm unless someone goes over and clicks the Entropic Spire of Ny'alotha in reality.
When the Lieutenant dies, it drops a permanent rift on its corpse that can be used to traverse to and from reality. In addition, the related Obelisk also becomes destroyed and becomes a rift as well.
Rifts can be used to enter and leave N'zoth's realm. Obelisks can only be used to enter N'zoth's realm.
If any Lieutenants are not defeated before the last boss, they will teleport to players and attack when the last boss is pulled.
The Lieutenants
There are 4 Lieutenants related to the 4 types of Obelisks. They each have a different set of abilities and are of varying levels of difficulty. Defeating them awards some counts (4 count).
If you engage a Lieutenant at its Obelisk, it will cast
Armate di N'zoth
summoning a unique set of adds in N'zoth's realm. If the Lieutenants teleport to the last boss, they will not cast

skipping the summoned adds entirely.
When teleported to the last boss, Lieutenants are part of the boss encounter. Should you wipe, the Lieutenants will despawn and respawn when the boss is next pulled.
Tessitore del Vuoto Mal'thir
Tessitore del Vuoto Mal'thir
spends most of its time casting, alternating between
Pestilenza Paralizzante
and
Dubbio Persistente
.
Pestilenza Paralizzante
is a 3 second cast on a random player, that deals ~100k damage on a +10. It then leaves a
Disease
that reduces
movement speed
of the player for 8 seconds.
Dubbio Persistente
is a 3 second cast on a random player, that deals ~100k damage on a +10. It then leaves a
Curse
that reduces
casting speed
of the player for 8 seconds.
When
Tessitore del Vuoto Mal'thir
casts
Armate di N'zoth
, it will summon a set of 5
Scarabeo Esplosivo
.
These melee the primary threat target for minimal damage.
They can cast
Perforazione Instabile
, a 4 second cast that causes them to explode, killing themselves but dealing 100k Nature damage (on a +10) and leaving a
Poison
that deals 21k per sec for 6 sec.
This is probably the easiest Lieutenant to deal with and can easily be pulled with the final boss.
Samh'rek, Invocatore del Caos
Samh'rek, Invocatore del Caos
only has one ability,
Terrore a Cascata
.
This puts a Magic debuff on 3 players of varying length, that can be dispelled.
When the debuff expires, all players inside the circle (including the debuff holder) will be feared for 3 seconds.
When
Samh'rek, Invocatore del Caos
casts
Armate di N'zoth
, it will summon a set of 5
Demonio di Carne Famelico
.
These melee the primary threat target.
They also cast
Squartacarne
at their primary threat target, stacking a nasty bleed on the Tank.
This mob has the biggest source of disruption against the party. The Tank should probably be dispelled if chosen so they don't get feared and the DPS will have to be careful to spread out when their debuff is about to expire. It's probably not advised to let this one pull with the last boss.
Sangue del Corruttore
Sangue del Corruttore
only has one ability,
Suolo Profanato
.
This ability will alternate between shooting
Suolo Profanato
at the location of two random players, and dropping it directly under it.
Standing in the
Suolo Profanato
will deal about ~60k damage per second.
Suolo Profanato
will despawn when
Sangue del Corruttore
dies.
When
Sangue del Corruttore
casts
Armate di N'zoth
, it will summon a set of 5
Tentacolo dello Squartamento Mentale

These channel
Flagello Mentale
on a random target, slowing them for 65% and dealing 8.5k damage per second.
This channel can be interrupted.
This mob is probably the second easiest to pull with the last boss and the bonus is you don't have to spend time dealing with the spread out Tentacle stalks.
Urg'roth lo Spezzaeroi
Urg'roth lo Spezzaeroi
has two abilities:
Spezzaspirito
and
Furia Oscura
.
Spezzaspirito
is a physical tankbuster that increases damage taken by 100% for 8 seconds.
Furia Oscura
is a 3 second cast that deals ~150k shadow damage to anyone in the purple circle.
When
Urg'roth lo Spezzaeroi
casts
Armate di N'zoth
is summons a large number of
Crescita Malvagia
in the nearby area.
The
Crescita Malvagia
have very little health (70k) but are very similar to the Growth on G'huun
Crescita Malvagia
send out
Corruzione Vile
in the area that slows players in the area by 65% and dealing about 12k damage per second.
Defeating the
Crescita Malvagia
will remove the
Corruzione Vile
in the area.
This mob is relatively easy, but can be difficult if pulled with a high damage last boss. The Growth that is summons when pulled by an Obelisk are not difficult.
Voice of the Corruptor
When you start the dungeon, you may notice a small fish where Bwonsamdi used to hang out. Meet, the Bwonsamdi of Season 4: the Voice of the Corruptor!
I know, he's a little fishy... but don't worry, if you run out of time, he'll
scale
up in size and allow you to seek the favor of "mighty N'zoth". Doing so will grant you 20% damage and healing and reset any Sated debuffs on your character. It's the Bwonsamdi buff, but from a fish!
