Immune to Fear and Curse of Exhaustion, was barely able to solo him with my 65 23/33/0 +500dmg warlock. Needed VW, for the MD dmg mitigation, Soul Link, and 2 sac bubbles. Drain tanked the whole time, whenever Torg crit me would use a healthstone or healing pot. Came to the end, both Torg and I had a sliver of health left and no mana. My wand shot hit him, his shot missed me, he died, but more by luck I think.

Soloed as a 65 feral druid. He is stunnable and can be gouged/maimed. Summoned him, went cat, pounce, FF, mangle, shred, maim, shred, bear. Then bashed him and healed and bear again. Used a healing pot towards the end but killed him. Only used standard druid buffs.

He lays down some nasty disease but they are short term.
Keep all your buffs on you and him and shield block like mad.

soloed as a 63 hunter-he can be stunned so intimidation works wonders when u are about to take aggro. he stuns your pet and comes for u, if u are bm this is not a problem as bestial wrath will sort that out in a flash, otherwise feighn death and hope for the best. oh, i had to take a pot aswell to make thing fair--not a easy fight but can be done

Just attempted this with my 67 prot paladin. Not sure if this has happened to anyone else, but he bugged upon summoning. Something happened and he was invisible, though still able to attack me, while I wasn't able to hit him with melee/spells - targeting worked fine, though, in showing me his picture.

Oh well... Just run off and get the carcass again before re-trying, I suppose.

An extremely easy fight. Did it with an Enhancement Shaman and a Feral Druid (myself). No healeing was required as no one dropped below 95%. I stayed in Cat Form and DPSed from behind, and we kind of juggled aggro. Clear the area first, though.

As a BM hunter level 65 I solo'd Torgos (level 65 elite) easily, pop all cooldowns and you're done =D

P.S (my pet died but I came out victorious with minor scratches)

Solo'd this guy at 64 as a Demon/afflicion Gnome warlock.

He isn't an easy fight at this level by any stretch of the imagination, but I did manage to find his weakenss. If you go straightforward DPS on the guy he will eat your minion in seconds. Dont use curse of agony on him, instead, use curse of weakness and use Demon armor. DON'T use Fel Armor. That takes away Armor from your minion and makes you do more damage / heals and upsets the aggro balance WAY in your favour. Using Fel Armor also means you have to heal your minion more due to lack of Armor, and that means more aggro for you.

Using curse of weakness/Demon armor on him I was able to heal my Felguard faster than he could harm it. He turned on me a couple of times because of the heal aggro and corruption/immolate/Drain life I kept stacked on him. But I was able to get far enough ahead on heals on my Felguard I was able to drain life him to gain some of it back. Throughout the last part of the fight aggro bounced quite a bit between myself and the felguard, but a combination of health funnel and drain life, I was able to keep both myself and the Felguard alive.

I finished the fight at 45% health and the Felguard was at 80%. Never used a potion of any type during the whole fight, just life tapped myself for mana, health funnel'd the Felguard and when I needed more health, hit him with Drain life. Just watch his target, when you see it switch to you, step back so the drain life/health funnel stops, and your minion will be able to get aggro back fairly quickly. If aggro is bouncing and immolate wore off, wait till your minion has gotten a better lock on aggro before casting immolate again. If immolate crit's on it's initial hit, that can really make it tough for your minion to regain aggro. Plus the lack of DPS you are doin allows your minion to regain aggro alot faster and build up more hate so that even if it does crit, he will ignore it and keep focused on your minion.

During the parts where I used drain life was when i got the most aggro bounces, but just side stepping to break the spell allowed my Felguard to regain aggro.

All in all it was a VERY fun fight. Oh and ALL my gear is from quests that I have done up to the point of this encounter. So not top of the line stuff at all.... just the quested armor.

Oh and one further note.... DON'T try and solo him IN the camp where the Scare crow is, clear out the 2 mobs to the rear of the camp. Recharge and heal as fast as possible, plant the carcass and run back to the cleared area. Fighting right where the scare crow is means you have to clear ALOT of mobs that path into aggro range. To the rear of the scarecrow, only 2 need to be cleared. When he descends, he comes straight for you anyways. Then just take your time, and grind his health down and you win. If your minion dies, you are TOAST. He can't be feared and unless he has just a sliver of health left, he can crit for over 1100 a crack.

Doin this with a VW instead of a Felguard should follow along the same lines, but you would need alot more care in the health funnels and drain life. A VW doesn't regain aggro as fast as a felguard does at times. If the VW's taunt spells were just used, it's going to take till they pop again for him to regain aggro, and that may be too long.

VW's have quite a chunk more AC/HP's than a Felguard does, so carefully managing the funnels and drains should keep both caster and minion alive to the end.

Hope this helps some WL's get this one done solo style.

Kited him to the camp near by but a guard killed it and then I got "You don't have permission to loot that corpse".. I guess you need to kite but not get any help of npcs on the kill to loot.. :(

Get quest "Veil Rhaze: Unliving Evil" from Kirrik the Awakened (37,51). It needs to kill the same mobs that are where Torgos (26,55) is.

Pwnd him with.... Trachela :D Tammed Trachela yesterday. She's still unruly and lvl 65, but she did the trick. I'm lvl 70, that helps :)

go to 43,52 kill Trachela, it will drop his carcas.
take it to 26, 55 and put it down and torgos will appear after a few seconds.
he has a few debuffs and hits pretty hard

-for destro locks

i did this at lvl 65. had void tank him for a bit while i got the dots up, then nuked him down.
used HS, and a super healing potion though=/
had 5.3k hp, hope this helps.

If you die while killing Torgos, you will have to go kill Trachela again for a new carcas.

Tried this solo as a 64 Affliction Lock. Usually able to solo equal elites pretty easy... He tore through my VW and then me with great ease, only got him to about 60%. Gonna go take another crack at him...

Solo'd on second try with 65 BM Hunter. I neglected to clear the area the first time and got 2 raven and 2 spirit screecher adds - had to say byebye to the cat and FD. THEN I realize the carcass got used up...ugh.

Started with all the long-cooldowns (beast within, rapid fire, +AP trinkets), used plenty of arcane shots and multishots in between.

He's pretty hard. If he just kept aggro, I wouldn't have been able to do it (would've killed my pet with over 50%h remaining). But he'll fight the pet for a few minutes, sap it, and then switch targets, giving you time to mend pet and tank while it heals. Pet wakes up, regains aggro, you then bandage/potion, step back for range. Did about 2-3 cycles of this, ended with finishing him with 50%h/m. Could've easily gone the other way.

If it drops, I recommend camping Trachela and stocking up on at least 2 carcasses so you don't have to go back to her if you die fighting Torgos.

Level 65 warrior, only got him down to about 50% health, could not solo. Those who claim solo at this level was a breeze, I want some of what you're smoking.

Level 64 Affli/Demo Warlock, soloed him letting my VW tank at the beginning, and then drain tanking him myself to death. I used my healthstone, but didn't have to use the VW's sacrifice as I intended to. Regular quest and self crafted gear, not even a single instance piece.

So long for utterly complicated methods ;)

For BM Hunters, right after you set the carcass down, immediately back away and wait for the green bird (Torgos) to come down, cast Hunter's Mark, send your pet in and immediately Mend Pet.

I shot a Serpent String and then used Bladefist's Breadth trinket, Bestial Wrath, Rapid Fire and start hammering away with a macro. I kept Aspect of the Viper up the whole time and used no Health or Mana pots.

Keep Mend Pet up on all times cause he hits hard. If he comes after you, quickly Mend Pet and then Feign Death. After aggro has been reset, just hammer away till he dies :)

If you have Intimidation, you can throw that in the beginning to buy yourself some time.

I'm a 64 BM hunter (6018 Health/3740 Mana) with Ravager (4241 Health, Gore 8, Bite 8) as a pet.

I got sapped early in the fight he got me down to half health before the anything even started. He's immune to all frost effects like slow and snare so you're %^&*ed for solo if you're a frost mage.

Coords right on. I soloed him as a 65 frost mage in mostly greens, +dmg around 450. He's not too bad as long as you have him focusing on your elemental most of the time. As long as you can blink back and forth long enough for your elemental to regain aggro (and ice barrier cd to wear off), you can survive long enough to kill him. I had to use 2 elementals, cold snap, ice block, and one pot to do it.

Solo'd him without any problem as lvl 65 shadow priest.

I used my zandalarian hero charm to get some extra DPS at the begning of the fight, mostly with DOTs. Just make sure to keep SW:Pain and Vampiric Touch (and, of course, vampiric embrace) on him at all times and he goes down pretty easily. When my health dropped to ~60%, hit devouring plague and pop a shield. Mind flay him continually when shield is up and mindblast otherwise.

Ended the fight with full health and just under 50% mana.

oh and BTW, I didn't try, but I read he's immune to fear -- prolly not worth wasting the mana.

I did this solo as an NE Hunter Level 70 with low to average kit. Easy peasy you say. Hmmm. Yes and No.

ok here is the story:
You must kill Trachela to get the carcass (which btw has the same icon as Strider Meat!) then you schlepp all the way across the Bones Waste to a little "village" where you need to find a large totem-type object stuck in the ground that looks like a Crow-type mob scarecrow (oh well I know what I mean!)

The co-ordinates for Trachela are 43,51-ish confirmed - its a small mount with bones on it and she is there flying around looking like a greeny-white giant version of the other bird mobs around there (forget their names). Now, I do not know whether a bunch of these ordinary mobs just happened to respawn as I was battling with Trachela or she kinda brings them on. If its just her, then the kill is easy. So if I were you, take care to clear the area before going in mob-handed. Once she is down, you get the carcass. Oh, one final thing for Hunter's. I noticed that half way through the fight, my pets icon had gone red = WTF? Beware of this, 'cos your pets DPS will go right down. Ouch!

The co-ordinates for Torgos are 26,55 again confirmed.
Make sure you have the carcass thing on an action bar. When you are next door to Torgos' Bane, "use" the carcass and practically immediately your friendly Torgos appears so watch out. You will know that you have found the Bane cos there is a kinda blue glow coming down from the top bit of it.
As other's have said: grind around here for a bit to make sure there are no other mobs around. Torgos is a level 65 Elite (other posts didn't seem to go heavy on that little detail!). If you don't get adds, the fight is ok, not a walk over but manageable at 70.
I chose the Terrokar Tablet of Precision 'cos it has better stats for a Hunter.

Co-ords for these two are correct, Trachela is easy soloable no doubt, altho i found kiting Torgos kind of easy as a hunter ;P Used one healing pot in total, he can easily be kited in circles from where he spawns tho. Good Luck if youre trying this youself

Drinked just 1 mana potion.

Nothing very imposible for shaman soloing just use Earth Elemental totem and heal some times elem, all other time do SS+Earth Shock + cleanse poisons.

I solo'd it as a lv. 66 feral druid. And I had no problems at all! I only had to heal one time, and then he was down before I had to heal again.
Just clear the area around him, then it shouldnt be a problem.

Never noticed this quest before I got lvl 70. I'm not a top player, but at 70 you can solo this with one hand tied behind your back. All you have to do is clear the area around the scarecrow first. Hunter BM. There's better trinkets around, but it's cute.
This doesn't seem to give you rep with any faction.

Sol'd 64 BM Hunter, not easy solo, must clear out surrounding undead, constant heal on pet, and do everything possilbe to avoid aggro. FYI, some serpant stings hit as immune and some stick and run their course, it's important you get one on him, I used aspect of VIPER to keep my mana supply fresh, since I was unloading on him everytime my cooldown cleared. Pet is a Cat w/ 7700 armor and intimidation (a must). I used no health/mana potions, by I did let him hit while my pet's health healed, then I feigned death to let pet take over aggro, ws not an easy battle, but if you are clever, you can solo as well.

Was able to solo him as a 65 feral drood. Opened up with pounce then, worked up combo points to apply a rip. At that point I shifted out to heal as he hits pretty hard(was at 50%health).(Don't forget to treebark before healing). If your still good on health you can probably build up another 5 points and then maim him so you can save your treebark for later. After healing(I used all 3 hots) go bear and get your tanking staff/trinkets on. Since I used my bark early I built up all my rage just doing normal attacks untill I was full, then frenzy regend back to full health and built up rage again to dps him down. First time was a charm and finished the fight with about 35% health.

Since he can be stunned I can see this being cake for a good stun lock rogue as long as he gets no adds, sounds like he can be snared etc so shouldnt be a problem for mages/locks either. Warriors/pallys/priest/shamans/? will definately need to bring friends for this one. As stated above hunter kite == dead torgos

NOTE: Trachela's corpse looks just like your common RIBS. I looted it and didnt realize. I killed him 4 times, reread the quest, read everyones posts again and didn't figure it out until I was cleaning out my junk at the vendors.

IT LOOKS LIKE RIBS.

Make sure you kill all the Spirit Ravens and other trash mobs in the area and don't loot until after whacking Torgos. If you're a class that can use fear, it doesn't work on them, so you'll need to deal with them during the fight if you haven't killed them all ahead of time. The good news is that Torgos isn't that tough for a 65 Elite.

There's a creature in the Bone Wastes so fearsome that only the dauntless dare to stalk him.

I speak of Torgos, king of the bonelashers, who circles over Veil Rhaze on the western edge of the wastes.

Too bad that there's an arakkoan scarecrow there, known as Torgos's Bane, which keeps him at bay. I'd bet if you laid his mate Trachela's carcass at the foot of that scarecrow he'd come down anyway. She can be found at Carrion Hill in the northern wastes.

Bring me one of Torgos's tail feathers.
