I've completed every Nagrand quest available to me except for Durn the Hungerer, including the escort - but this quest isn't available to me. Garrosh doesn't have a grey ! over his head, either, so I doubt it's because of my level. I'm a level 67 warlock and at Revered with Mag'har.

OK, so i finally got this.

there are 3 confirmed quest lines you must finish before getting this Thrall questline to unlock

i guess you're either lying or you're stupid if you can't get this quest and you've done what people say.

I did all the nagrand quests, am only honored with maghar, and i got this chain easily.

Afaik, there's a chain that involves Altruis from Shadowmoon valley. It's the thing with the demon hunter near black temple. I've done that one, didn't notice this quest when I was in nagrad so that might be a prereq. Doubtful though.

For all of you who claim you have completed all the pre-reqs and are not able to get this questline to open be _sure_ to complete the Blademaster chain. Ok, I have done every single quest in Nagrand. The escort Q i did at 64/65, I did the Blade Q chain at the end of 66. and I have just finished the Altruis the Demon Hunters tiresome quest chain (Pain in the but, runnning around bloody Outland *grunble grunble*) but I did it anyway; knowing that I would get this quest chain when I was done. Nothing.....I can't get this Q...I can't talk to Garrosh or the Greatmother. so annoyed...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :P

The required chains you MUST complete before doing this are:

The Blademaster Chain:

This starts in Nagrand, brings you to Terrokar forest and then back to Nagrand. When you complete this chain with "Diplomatic Measures" the Burning Blade Chain will be unlocked.

Burning Blade Chain (Lantresor of the Blade):

Once you complete these 2 quests at Kil'Sorrow fortress, you do another 2 up at the Laughing Skull ruins. The last quest in this chain is "Message to Garadar"

You will need a group for most parts of this quest. There are parts that are easily soloable. Last quest in this chain to complete is Forge Camp: Annihilated

This quest chain becomes super super easy after hitting 70 & getting a flying mount. I would've killed myself if I had to use a non-flying mount for the 5th part.

I thought that I had done the escort quest. I flew over the guy, saw the green NPC down below, and he didn't have a quest ! above his head. So I assumed I had done it.

But I was wrong.

Turns out you have to kill all of the mobs near him, and THEN he will give you the escort quest. So if you've flown over and found the guy, and thought you'd already done it, try killing all of the mobs around him and see if he offers you the escort quest.

BTW, it was reasonably easy to do as a solo 70 BM Hunter. He heals himself, and my pet could tank most of the mobs. Cakewalk.

The pre-requisite quests alone got me about a level worth of XP. You can do the Murkblood and Blademaster/Burning Blade quests at level 65, but the Forge Camp quests are 66, so if you are trying to maximize your efficiency you need to get started at 65 on those pre-requisites.

I have been trying to start this quest for days now...
I've finished all the prequests from what i can see, i thought maybe that I hadn't done the escort but the quest isn't coming up when i kill the guards so i guess I've done it.
Has anyone else had this problem or is there something else I'm missing..?

Altruis quests are not needed to get the chain.
I did the blademaster chain, Murkblood Invaders, and the escort, before I was able to get this quest.

You need to be Revered with Mag'har before this quest chain shows up.

This is wrong. You need to be level 68, and have finished all the quests in the zone. I'm level 67 and Revered with Mag'har and my guildie is 68 and honred and he got the quest.

Hello,

I do know for a fact you do not have to be revered when starting this quest line, i did not become revered till after I started this quest. You do have to do the leigioniers out in the camps ( so it seems) , you do need to do the guy over in burning blade ruins and you have to do the murkblood invaders as well it seems (maybe you ran into them early on in the area and completed the quest and did not realize it) and the escort quest. Afeter several of my guildies tried it various wasy some things seem consistant to open this line up. The only thing I had not done was the escort quest and I could not start the chain till after this last one was done in Nagrand.

Myself and a rogue I was questing with both finished the chain that involves planting the banners on the orc and kilsorrow bodies. After we completed the entire chain, he was given the quest to speak with the great mother. My mag'har rep was at 10433/12000, his was at 10124/12000. I did not receive the quest. If it really does require revered rep maybe it just bugged out on him.

Actually, it's not bugged - it makes perfect sense if you read the conversation you have with the Greatmother. Basically Garrosh has lost the will to fight and you notice that almost every quest you hand in, you are met with the same typical answer, "it doesn't matter, we are all going to die anyway."

So, basically what you have to do to activate this quest is simply to do every quest that involves talking to Garrosh at one point or another. For me the last step was the escort, simply because I missed it (31,44 - kill the brutes to activate it).

In any case, you finally get to speak to the Greatmother after you've seemly done everything you can to try and revive his spirit...

I had stalled in being able to advance this quest chain.

At 70th level, Revered with Mag'har, and having completed every quest in the zone (including the "hidden" quests) I was not offered any further quests.

I opened a ticket and was told that I needed to complete the prerequisite quests to advance the chain. Which I had done, but the GM would not believe me that this was a game bug and treated me as though I were asking for game hints.

But today after the server maintenance window was over Garosh had a quest which he had not offered previously. It was this one, and I'm happy that I'll be able to complete this quest chain now. But unhappy about the non-responsiveness of the GM staff.

you guys have it all wrong, you have to complete the quests from the half orc half draenei in the *Burning Blade Ruins*. He gives u a series of quests and finally he sends you to speak to Gorrosh who then sends you to speak to the greatmother. I'm 67, honored with Mag. Thats all.

hard for me to tell but id say the escort at sunspring post is the prereq. the guy says "what does it matter, the greatmother is dying..." when you hit complete and then is this quest.

Regarding people saying they got the chain after doing only the escort quests; they're wrong. The quest chain from Altruis which ends in destroying both Forge Camps is a prereq for the chain, aswell as all the elemental quests for the elementals above Garadar.

It seems that some people are spreading misinformation on purpose.

You have to complete all the quests in Nagrand.

Garrosh is in Garadar.

"Diplomatic Measures" takes you to the half breed, Lantresor, at 73.62. He starts a 6 part chain, which is easily soloed.

"He Called Himself Altruis..." gets you to Altruis, he is at coords 27.43, he starts "Survey the Land", you should know that this is a 7 part chain and you may need a group to complete.

The hidden quests are

1. "Murkblood Invasion Plans", which you have to kill the three invaders on the north west road, the quest is a drop from 1 of the raiders. You have to be lvl 64 to start it.

2. "The Totem of Kar'dash" (escort quest that starts in Sunspring Post, coords 31.44). When you go for this, I suggest you get the following, they are in the same area.

"Vile Idolatry"
"Murkblood Leaders..." (Ortor is at 30.42)
"Once Were Warriors"
"Murkblood Corrupters"
"The Spirit Polluted" (this is done at Lake Sunspring, Watoosun is at 33.50)

I am level 67, Honored, have done all quests except attack plans. I now get the quest; I didn't yesterday.

You must complete all the quests from Garadar as well as the two hidden ones.

All includes the Camp Forge quests from Altrius. Once you have done these you can get the quest from Garrosh.

The two hidden ones are the escort in Sunspring Post and killing the 3 elephant riders to get the murkblood invader attack plans quest.

Turns out I did miss some quests.

As I turn in the escort the Mag'har Catptive quest, I got this one. I suspect you have to do so many quests that's related to him (Garrosh) or turn in to him before you can get this. When I picked up this quest, I was still Honored with Mag'har, so revered is definately not required. I also had the Invasion Plan quest I haven't turn in so that one is not a direct trigger either.

I had to kill Gankly Rottenfist Gankly Rottenfist before I could complete this quest. When you kill him (and protect the gnome he's trying to kill), you will get another turn in quest. After completing them, I was then able to complete this quest.

Have just about giving up on ever recieving this quest.

I have done all quests in Nagrand as just about all the quests from all other areas, except the ones in raid/heroic instances now.
And I stil haven't gotten this quest.
Don't know what else to do, even talked to GM's but they don't say if I'm buged or missing some quests.
So unless there is some quest that drop from a mob that I need I don't see what else one can do.

I was able to pick up this quest without completing Murkblood Invaders.

The only quests I did in Nagrand were the Blademaster chain (including Message to Garadar), the Altruis the Demon Hunter chain and the Totem of Kar'dash (the quest appeared after turning in Totem of Kar'dash).

This quest became available after I recently completed all of Lantresor of the Blade's quests. I completed every quest in Nagrand by the time I was done with that chain.

I wanted to see what very little I could do as for quests before this would unlock. I started with trying to get Lantresor of the Blade's quests out of the way due to a previous comment on here hoping it would appear afterward. It did not. It basically came down to doing every single quest in Nagrand besides the Nessingwary and Consortium quests.

I even had to do the quests with the illidari dude in western Nagrand. Did the escort quest out of Sunspring Post. Did the egg quest with the Goblin. It wasn't until all those were done that Garrosh finally offered this quest. Just an FYI for those wondering how to get going on this chain.

I thought I had done every quest in Nagrand, and couldn't figure out why this quest was not appearing. Then I realized I have a quest called Patience and Understanding, which occurs in Shattrath City in the Lower City at /way 77, 35. After completing that quest you will do 3 more quests, ending with Forge Camp: Annihilated. Now this quest should be available to pick up at /way 55.4, 37.6.
