You do not recieve this quest necessarily from being Friendly with Honor Hold. On my shaman I did Hellfire Ramparts and Blood Furnace until friendly and was still not able to get the quest. I didn't have the option to accept the quest until sometime after https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=10143 and https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=10483. Both of them are the 'split' chain that starts from the first quest you get in Honor Hold.

I think it should be noted that, at least for the Alliance side, you CANNOT already control the base to get credit. It must NOT belong to your faction to get the credit, despite the fact that you can stand there and let the timer count down. if you do this and your faction already is in control, you don't get credit.

even if you are honored it takes a whiel jsut to take over one base while u get 5 honor from killing a orc so you can farm much faster from killing the orcs then repeating that quest

Handed this in today, and in the chat window it said I can complete 9 more daily quests, the quest giver would not give this quest to me again.

So has this been turned into a daily one as well? Or just a bug?

there is no EXACT cd but you must wait until the timer resets. the time is found under holding the cursor over the quest counter box in the top right. the top counter is your normal quests while the bottom is daily. you can only do this quest once per day as of 2.1.1 patch.

You have to stay at the flag for like 2 mins.. if you just want the quest done you should do it at the night instead since it's not many who's playing at the night.. Cords for the towers:

so perhaps this is a bit of a n00b question... this is my first time doing the quest...

alliance already captured one of the objectives... so I expected that when I turned my pvp on, I would automatically be credited with capturing the objective.

I've basically been sitting here for about 15 minutes... and nothing. The slider is all the way over to alliance and so far no capture.

Worth noting that you must be either lvl 60, or at least Honored, to obtain this quest. I'm currently friendly with HH at lvl 59, and can't do it yet.

Not sure why wowhead says lvl 55.

Under optimal conditions, with an epic ground mount, this takes about ten minutes to complete. I know this because I have an epic ground mount and started the quest with slightly less than ten minutes before server shutdown.

It was close, but I did not make it.

Guess I'll have to finish it tomorrow. :(

Are you able to cap towers and get the quest marked while in a raid?
I know you can in a party, and get marks from killing in a raid and party... but does quest count when in a raid? It should though cause the PvP marked ones in Battlegrounds do...

I got this quest while still only neutral, had to do a few of the beginning quests before it was offered though

This is pretty much the best thing ever, repeatable, 275 rep (if you're human) 6600 xp (the xp and rep are repeatable) plus it takes like 5 minutes, depending on how it's going. We had a pretty good rotation where we just switched off with the horde to do it as quick as possible.

Must be halfway through Friendly (as in, halfway to Honored) with Honor Hold to pick up this quest. Not Honored. Not Friendly. Directly in-between. No prerequisite quest as far as i know. But yeah, isn't all that hard... and gets some nice crap out of it.

Wow, that is one of the most illogical and immature posts I have seen so far on this site. Not only were you able to post here, because you are a member, but if it takes a brain to figure this stuff out, why are you a member of this site, and looking at the posts for quests? Look in the mirror.

For anyone who wants help with this stuff, and you don't have a brain (hehe), then this is what you do: to flag, hope you know this by now, you right click your icon in the left hand corner of the screen, look at your options for PvP, and click enable. Then you look at your map. You will see three towers, they will be either blue or red. If they are red, horde has captured them, and if blue, alliance has it. Go to the towers. Beware, you are flagged, and horde CAN kill you.

So thank you to everyone who has helped me, without a brain, to be lazy instead of running around in hostile territory searching for clues as to how to do quests, I really appreciate the effort.

And to those here who want to make an account for no other purpose than to dog on everyone else for asking for help, go to a PvP realm and harass the noobs.

Ok, so here is a quick rundown of what you need to know to complete this quest:

Locations:
Arena - 35, 50
Broken Hill - 40, 56
Overlook - 40, 48

To capture one of the objectives:
1. You must first be flagged for PVP (this can be done by typing "/pvp" into chat, or by right clicking on your portrait and enabling PVP; This will place your faction's emblem on the corner of your portrait). Changing your PVP flag is not necessary on a PVP server, as you are always flagged for PVP.

2. After you are flagged for PVP, you must stand somewhere within the fortification area, close to the location of the flag. You will know you are close enough when an objective progress indicator appears on your screen. The objective indicator will look something like this: (A)=======|---|=======(H), (with a little more graphic detail). When progress is being made on the objective, an arrow will appear on the progress indicator pointing toward the faction that is making progress.

3. When the objective has been captured, the flag will change to that of the faction that currently has control and the towers on the map will change to the faction's assigned color (blue for alliance, red for horde). You may also hear a sound indicating that the objective has been captured.

Notes of Interest:
While you are capturing the forts you will be vulnerable to PVP attacks from the opposing faction (on PVP servers you are always vulnerable). This is important to note, because killing players of the opposing faction while near one of the towers (as long as you or someone in your group gets the killing blow) will result in addtional Marks.

You will be able to capture any fort that is not currently controled by your faction. This includes forts that are controlled by the opposing faction, and those that are neutral (colored grey on the map, and have the white/grey flag in the fort).

This quest is a repeatable daily quest; meaning that you can repeat the quest as many times as you wish (for reputation, marks, and experience), however, you may only complete the quest once per day.

The reputation and experience gained from completing this quest seems to vary depending on your current reputation and the level of your character.

According to the information listed on this page, you will not be able to attain this quest until level 58, however, there do not seem to be any additional requirements, though others have stated that there may be a reputation or quest requirement to attain the quest (the stated reputation level is halfway through Friendly to Honored, and the stated quest sequence is Arrival in Outland -> Journey to Honor Hold -> Force Commander Danath -> Know your Enemy -> Fel Orc Scavengers -> Ill Omens)

Though you can capture a fort while in a raid group, you will not receive quest credit for the capture. However, I do believe that you can still receive Marks for killing a member of the opposing faction while in a raid group.
TIP: If you want to work with a large group of people to capture the objectives, try creating several 5-member parties instead of a raid, and work together.

TIP: On non-PVP servers, flag yourself for PVP when you want to begin capturing the forts, but immediately unflag yourself. The PVP flag will not disable immediately, but will take 5 minutes of non-PVP activity (capturing the forts is not considered PVP activity). This should give you plenty of time to capture one (1) objective, and will keep you from forgetting to remove the PVP flag later.

My goodness, all these posts that don't have the really important info in them! We need to give people coordinates! Instructions! I'm staring at this quest, and it's hella vague. Where are these places? Do the towers have to be held by hordies for me to capture, and complete the objective? Or if the tower is already ours, do I just need to flag and walk around? My goodness, I was really hoping for some useful comments here. Where should a person go to get good BC quest info? =P

I hung around one of the towers for a while yesterday and watched the timer on my screen. I got distracted/bored and was killed by a horde player :(

My question: how long do you have to wait until you have captured a tower?

A note for Druids, if you stealth or take animal form you wont get a progress bar and the flag wont turn blue. You have to stay human and visible.

People here haven't been exact enough at the minimum number of quests to become eligible for Hellfire Fortifications. They are listing the whole chain which is not necessary.
For those who are still saving HH req quests but still want to do the daily HH rep quest.
You only have to complete Know Your Enemy, Fel Orc Scavengers and Ill Omens.
You can pick up Through the Dark Portal and The Legion Reborn but these and other quests are NOT required to become eligible for Hellfire Fortifications (save turnin til honored).
