Also, this quest is repeatable which makes collecting tokens a breeze.

Just to clarify a couple things, the things you need to capture for the quest are the towers in the middle of the map for those of you who can't find it, i had this quest when i was neutral with Thrallmar so you don't need to be friendly to get this quest. Also the orcs jameslsy are talking about are the shattered hands, they give 5 rep a kill as long as they aren't grey, they stop giving rep after you are friendly with thrallmar.

This quest has changed in patch 2.1.

It is now a "Daily PvP", which means you can only complete is once a day.

But the rep you gain has increased. Now you gain 150 Rep each turn in, instead of 10.

The Overlook is at 39,48.
The Stadium is at 35,50.
Broken Hill is at 40,57.

It's only considered 'capturing' it if the bar was originally in the gray (neutral) area.

That 'daily' note means it takes 5 days at least to earn 15 marks in order to purchase anything... and that really sux... now rewards mostly don't worth that amount of marks i think

Since most servers seem to have more Ally's that Hordies, these things are almost always blue all of the time. Every time I have gone to capture them, Ally's come out of the woodwork. At first, I thought they were coming to kill me, but I quickly found that they just wanted to complete their version of this quest and were waiting for a Hordie to come turn the towers grey or red. I have yet to be attacked. It sure is spooky having a few 70's hovering over me waiting for me to leave, tho!

Honestly this sucks for people just getting to outland because a lot of 70's are ganking so you have no chance to get this.

Didn't help they made it into a daily quest either.

i also am unable to get quest. i am talking to battlecryer blackeye (the same one that allows you to spend your marks) but there is no ! over her head... it's not in my quest log, and i'm NA for quest when someone trys to share it.

blizz said "disable your addons" .... no resolve.

Ok, so here is a quick rundown of what you need to know to complete this quest:

Locations:
Arena - 35, 50
Broken Hill - 40, 56
Overlook - 40, 48

To capture one of the objectives:
1. You must first be flagged for PVP (this can be done by typing "/pvp" into chat, or by right clicking on your portrait and enabling PVP; This will place your faction's emblem on the corner of your portrait). Changing your PVP flag is not necessary on a PVP server, as you are always flagged for PVP.

2. After you are flagged for PVP, you must stand somewhere within the fortification area, close to the location of the flag. You will know you are close enough when an objective progress indicator appears on your screen. The objective indicator will look something like this: (A)=======|---|=======(H), (with a little more graphic detail). When progress is being made on the objective, an arrow will appear on the progress indicator pointing toward the faction that is making progress.

3. When the objective has been captured, the flag will change to that of the faction that currently has control and the towers on the map will change to the faction's assigned color (blue for alliance, red for horde). You may also hear a sound indicating that the objective has been captured.

Notes of Interest:
While you are capturing the forts you will be vulnerable to PVP attacks from the opposing faction (on PVP servers you are always vulnerable). This is important to note, because killing players of the opposing faction while near one of the towers (as long as you or someone in your group gets the killing blow) will result in addtional Marks.

You will be able to capture any fort that is not currently controled by your faction. This includes forts that are controlled by the opposing faction, and those that are neutral (colored grey on the map, and have the white/grey flag in the fort).

This quest is a repeatable daily quest; meaning that you can repeat the quest as many times as you wish (for reputation, marks, and experience), however, you may only complete the quest once per day.

The reputation and experience gained from completing this quest seems to vary depending on your current reputation and the level of your character.

According to the information listed on this page, you will not be able to attain this quest until level 58, however, there do not seem to be any additional requirements, though others have stated that there may be a reputation or quest requirement to attain the quest (the stated reputation level is halfway through Friendly to Honored, and the stated quest sequence is
Arrival in Outland -> Journey to Honor Hold -> Force Commander Danath -> Know your Enemy -> Fel Orc Scavengers -> Ill Omens)

Though you can capture a fort while in a raid group, you will not receive quest credit for the capture. However, I do believe that you can still receive Marks for killing a member of the opposing faction while in a raid group.
TIP: If you want to work with a large group of people to capture the objectives, try creating several 5-member parties instead of a raid, and work together.

TIP: On non-PVP servers, flag yourself for PVP when you want to begin capturing the forts, but immediately unflag yourself. The PVP flag will not disable immediately, but will take 5 minutes of non-PVP activity (capturing the forts is not considered PVP activity). This should give you plenty of time to capture one (1) objective, and will keep you from forgetting to remove the PVP flag later.

It's actually Battlecryer Blackeye, in Thrallmar, that gives this quest.

Abanded quest by mistake. Blackeye shows no question mark any more. Any ideas on how to get quest back ? Start at the beginning again ?

I am also unable to get this quest. According to everything I can find (including this page), I qualify for this quest. I am level 61, halfway through Friendly already, and have done the Felspark Ravine quest. Still, I am unable to get this quest. Any ideas?

Why create a quest that you cant do unless there are people from the oher side doing it at the same exact time? I understand that people want the bonus when in zone and change them for that reason at times also but I have stood for over 30 min doing nothing just waiting ... more than once this has happened..makes no sense not to have an alternate way to complete the quest when there are no horde/ally around doing it also.

you need to do the felspark ravine quest to get this one.

so:
you probably have taken the quests to get to thrallmar and spoken to commander in the large building, you get the quest (from the fellow near commander, cant remember name) to speak to Sergeant Shatterskull just outside thrallmar, go to him, take the Felspark Ravine quest and complete it. you don't have to do any additional quests.

i don't know if you have to be friendly, though i have heard that its not necessary.

now you can get the Hellfire Fortifications quest from the Battlecryer Blackeye

To obtain this quest, you must first see Nazgrel for "Eradicate the Burning Legion." Report to Sargeant Shatterskull for "Felspark Ravine," and complete that quest. Next, report to Commander To'arch east of Thrallmar in "Forward Base: Reaver's Fall." Now see Blackeye about getting Hellfire Fortifications.

Turns out you can do all of the prerequisite quests as well at the daily PVP quest at 59. I decided to try it on my 59 druid who is still nuetral with Thrallmar & it worked beautifully. I don't know if this is vaible for Alliance side or not though.

I am a lvl 59 Undead Lock and I got the quest from Battlecryer Blackeye in Thrallmar, the first part (the overlook) worked fine, the other 2 not, I waited until the bar went from neutral to Horde but nothing happend, does this only work when the tower is Alliance occupied, or do I miss something?
