I can't figure out how to start this quest. The greatfather has no quests for me.

I also completed the quest and the GreatFather isn't outside anymore... I don't see him.

2 of my group members were on the quest too and they were able to turn it back to the NPC that was there for them.

I wrote a ticket to a GM in game that told me to delete the WTF, Cache and Interface folders, reboot and relog in. Did all this to no avail...

Next ticket, I had to go to bed and read my email on the next morning saying that they fixed the issue and everything should work. NO! I Still see no GreatFather.

I dropped my quest and couldn't even repick it up since the greatfather didnt even reappear.

This problem is also present with my other quest "Auchindoun... (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=10167)" which is a serie to unlock some later instance... I cannot see the spirit upon Exarch death in the Crypts...

i had the problem described above, but i zoned in and out, and he appeared (along with the armorer).
no idea what the problem is, but it apparently is random. trying zoning a few times, relogging, etc..

Any chance the people who can't see him are druids? I couldn't see him to turn in the quest, rezoned a few times with no luck, then I zoned back into the instance and left my cat form, when i zoned out he was there. I was able to zone in and back out as cat andhe was gone etc.

Cant see him either and I'm a hunter.

Actually the other day I wanted to get the quest but he wasn't there. Today he was, so I grabbed the quest, completed it, and he's gone again :|

Ok I think I figured out why people have a hard time turning this in, though someone might want to verify this.

As the quest dialogue suggests, you need to finish this chain https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=10227 and have killed Levixus. Having done so, you've completed the quest that allows you to see ghosts in Nagrand and Terokkar. Greatfather Aldrimus is a ghost, so he can't be seen without having completed this step.

HOWEVER, apparently the potion you consumed doesn't allow you to see into the spirit world 100% of the time (not sure if this is a bug or intended). This ability seems to take effect spontaneously, and you'll see an icon above your head and hear a sound effect identical to being the target of mind vision, though there is no visable buff indicator or text in your combat log. After this effect happens, you should be able to see the greatfather.

I'm not sure if you can manually turn this ability on somehow, but i seem to receive it when i move from one zone to another- so when greatfather wasn't visable to me, i simply hearthed to Shat, and ran back to the bone wastes. Soon after leaving shat i was granted the sight. Problem solved.

Oddly enough, I had never picked up this quest. Heck I had never been to any instance within Auchindoon for that matter. But I was still able to see the ghosts. I was able to see the armorer, the Greatfather, etc all without having even picked up the quest.

The ONLY thing that I could think of is maybe the "...of Second Sight" helmets are bugged and actually work for ghosts in other zones as well, but I have been unable to test this with other characters. I really doubt this theory though.

make sure you guys are looking in the instance entrance area for the crypts. not up top around the ring.

this might help a bit since no one says anything about the objective here. you can find this lvl 67 elite in auchenai crypts. hope all goes good. got a grp and skip'd my way threw . /cheer

to get this quest you need to have completed the line that starts with the kid outside the crypts. the quest is called 'i see dead dranei'.

you cant even see the npc until youve done this.

Exarch Maladaar is the last boss in the Auchenai Crypts instance (the instance right next to the questgiver on the western side of Auchindoun).

Gout out of instance and i cant see him. Now i have competed quest in my log, dont't know how to finish it.

You can get it, just need to finish I see dead dranei, and if any of you were paying attention it says u need aprereq anyways. I myself am still on Vision of the Dead.

You've had quite an adventure, <name>. And before you've even set foot inside of the Auchenai Crypts.

I am one of the fortunate spirits. I was neither bound to Levixus nor a part of Exarch Maladaar's vile experiments in necromancy. While you have destroyed Levixus, Maladaar lives on, continuing to torment the spirits inside the crypts.

What I ask is simple. Enter the Auchenai Crypts and destroy Exarch Maladaar so that the spirits trapped inside can finally rest in peace.
