Captain Arathyn respawns at 27,65 on the hill with tent and two balistas. Hes riding mount so easy to spot.

If you are a mage, sheep him before attacking and he will not spawn his mount as an add.. less to fight.

This quest chain will give you a ton of scryer rep. Also, from what I have seen it is the biggest and most useful scryer quest chain of them all.

69 druid, pounced, his mount didn't help.
Stun him before and maybe it just doesn't spawn.

Easy quest as a (68) warlock.

He's found on the small hill at 27.5,65.2, with the Sunfury Blood Elves. He's on a Hawkstrider mount moving slowly so he's pretty easy to spot. He's non-elite and drops just as easily as any other mob. But according to others his mount will spawn with him to fight. As I did, you can avoid this spawn by using some time of CC on him initially--stuns, fears (Death Coil works well with its short time), polymorphs, etc--then you'll have no more to fight than just him.

Just pick the guards off one by one and don't worry about the one in the back. DoT the Capt and fear the mount. Capt will die fast enough that you can eat/drink before mount comes back lol.

The co-ords 27,65 are good although he patrols a small perimeter at the top of a mound. However, a word of advice. Captain Arathyn is surrounded by at least 4 guards and when you attack him he splits into two - him and his mount.

If you just go up the road to the mound and try and pull him away just like that the likelihood is that you will bring 2 or 3 adds plus Arathyn=2 so you could end up with 5 mobs to fight!

The best thing is to thin his guards out. It isn't difficult you just have to be patient. If you circle aound the base of the mound it is easier to pull the guards. Then you just have Arathyn to deal with.

BTW, when I started killing the guards a quest tracker message popped up saying I had got x sunfury signet rings. These can be turned in at Shattrath City to prove..dah di dah. Worth knowing that.

I just took him out, I sheeped him to kill the mount but there was no mount, donno if it bugged for me or if they just removed that part but it was an easy kill.

simple took out the surrounders 1 or 2 at a time. Then sheeped him, which gets rid of the mount so you only gotta fight just him. For those w/out coords, just head west outta area 52 you'll see a mound on the right just off the road. He's there.

Don't know if this is a glitch or not but as a rogue if you cheap shot any mob on a mount the mount will not appear.

I have killed him like 20 times.And didn't get the Quest item.Maybe thee is something wrong with him.

Spymaster Thalodien at Area 52 wants you to go to the outskirts of Manaforge B'naar and retrieve the B'naar Personnel Roster from Captain Arathyn.

Completing quests for the Scryers will cause your Aldor reputation level to decrease.

You may have noticed one of Kael's manaforges on your way here. You know, the large purple buildings sucking energy from the sky?

We were sent here by the Sha'tar to investigate them. You can help our information gathering efforts by obtaining a personnel roster. Giving us an idea of who's there and what they do will prove to be invaluable information.

We believe Captain Arathyn, leading a ballista team just outside of Manaforge B'naar, is in possession of one such roster. Obtain it for us.
