Arcanists are all around the perimeter of the manaforge.

Guardsmen are near the entrance.

Researchers are found further away, mining rocks.

I can confirm this, killed about 50, no drops. Abandoned and restarted quest, finished in 5min

Oddly enough i was having trouble getting the drops, i abandoned and got them on my first kills as well..

Reading what people said above I took the Q and abandoned, then re-took it.

Arcanists were around where you got the Q, dropped 2nd mob
Guardsmen were at the entrance to the building, dropped 2nd mob
Researchers were inside, dropped 3rd mob

I had to reset it 4 times till it finally dropped the robes of the 10th or 11th one I killed : /. The rest of them dropped off the first mob though.

Yea i dropped it as well and repicked it up after killing over 20 arcanist and not gettin a drop, after repicking up the quest i got it off 3rd arcanist, 3rd guardsman and 1st researcher.

Dropping and re-getting the quest do not affect your drop chance.

Gloves dropped first kill for me without doing so.

Little confused which faction this quest is rep for.

At the beginning it says "Completing quests for the Scryers will cause your Aldor reputation to decrease" then goes on to say the reward is "275 reputation with The Aldor."

Which is it? Scryer or Aldor??

I picked up the quest, killed about 6 Arcanists, figured what the hell it MIGHT be bugged, so just went ahead and dropped it. Killed about 8 more Arcanists, no drop, killed one guardsman, dropped medallion, killed about 5 more Arcanists and it dropped. Went inside the Mana Forge and killed Researchers, second one dropped it.

I doubt the quest is bugged, it's probably just that it takes longer for the items to drop for certain people and that after re-picking-up the quest it's just coincidence that it drops sooner.

I can confirm the above statement. You don't need to reset the quest, there's simply a reduced drop rate on one of the items. It took me about 15 minutes to get the last item, numerous kills, but it dropped with no reset.

Guardsmen are at the front door.
Arcanists are by the quest giver.
Researchers are slightly south, working on the rocks.

i killed about 30 arcanists and didnt get anything so i abandoned it and got it again then the next arcanist i killed i got the robe and i got the medallion on the second kill and the gloves on the first kill

Killed roughly 15 to 20 Arcanists, no robes. Dropped the quest and re-took it, the robes dropped on my first kill.

I got my gloves and robes from 1st-2nd kills..and I actually killed all the guardsmen out there to get the medallion, even the ones who were fighting the nether anomalies..so my point is just wait don't drop the quest..I got 12 signets in killing the guards, so no problem here..u get scryer rep as well :)

Great place to get guardsmen is at 50,84 (the southeast side of the mana-forge) where they are fighting the nether anomalies.

I got the Gloves and medalion on my first kill, the robe took me about 12 kills or so, not too hard of a quest, depends on your luck.

the drop rates for this quest are odd. the robes took me at least 20 kills but i got the other two with the first researcher and guardsman i killed. so it make take you forever or two minutes. gl.

If you use the three charges and haven't completed the quest abandon the quest, trash the item then get the quest again.

This has got to be one of the easiest quests in Netherstorm.

I got the robes on first kill.
the Medallion on 2nd kill.
and the gloves on first kill.

I tried all the techniques described to improve the drop rate (re-logging, abandoning and re-starting quest, etc.) but I've simply come to the conclusion that the drop-rate just stinks.

I've killed about 15 guys and only the robes have dropped. Really rare.

edit: ok this is a chain quest first you need to get quest from qgiver of scryer in inn in area52...

Drop-rate wise this is the worst quest Ive ever done ...killed over 60 Arcanists but still nothing ...(the other two items dropped pretty quick)

Not particularly difficult. Took me 10 arcanists, about 5 guards and 3 researchers to get the drops.

One thing though, don't attack the guardsmen who're constantly fighting mana wraiths - apparently you're more of a threat to all of them than they are to each other... i got mobbed by 3 guardsmen and 2 wraiths when I tried pulling one off from the edge of the frey =) ... there are plenty of guardsmen just behind them anyway.

By the time you get all the drops to make this disguise, you will have murdered at least 80% of the workers at this facility, making the disguise...IDK, pointless?

A Convincing Disguise

Obtain a set of Sunfury Arcanist Robes, one pair of Sunfury Researcher Gloves and a Sunfury Guardsman Medallion and bring them to Caledis Brightdawn at Manaforge Coruu in Netherstorm.

Completing quests for the Scryers will cause your Aldor reputation to decrease.

Infiltrating the ranks of Kael's army will not be an easy task. With my knowledge of illusionary magic I could pass you off as one of Kael's followers, but there are certain details in their uniforms I could not replicate.

Bring me a set of their robes, a pair of their gloves and a Sunfury guardsman medallion. This will make the results of my magic much more convincing.
