Could this quest perhaps be bugged? I have sat through their conversations many many times and even tried talking to them and I cannot get a completion on this quest. I have dropped it and started it all over again and still nothing.

Please disregard my previous comment. In order to recieve credit for this part you must be right on top of the two guards that are speaking to one another. Do not worry about Pathaleon the Calculator's Image he is red but will not aggro

The event takes place at 78, 84. You have to get past the Arcane Annihilator who guards the entrance - just wait for him to path by and run on in.

Wicked bug use this and then use druid bird you can actually fly in the form of the blood elf :)

Is this quest still bugged? They are not talking to each other at all. I stood there for 10 minutes until my disguise ran out....

Just watch for the arcane annihilator and you'll be fine. I had to solo it, and thankfully I was a lock.

The guys are in the south wing of the mana forge, I walked right up to them, they had a conversation, and the quest was completed. 10 mins is plenty of time.

The mob who drops the item you need to start the shutdown can respawn very quickly, and when she does, it's right where you're guarding. So I suggest not completely looting her, leave something there so she'll take a bit longer to respawn

Also, the adds have around 2500 health and won't attack you until you attack them. For rogues, this means you can get a restealth for an ambush; they're squishy

Keep in mind that even if you break your disguise, you will have aggro, but if you immeadiately reactivate your disguise you will lose aggro even if activated in front of gaurds or the quest objective people :P.

As a mage, i found that invisibility does NOT break the disguise, so if the elite is in the way, invis, get in, decloak, voila.
Works on escaping too.

Before you turn-in quest, use cloak one more time. You won't need to fight your way through all mobs to do followup quest.

Don't stand too close to the wall in front, a Nether Anomaly kept agroing me through the way and pulling me out of disguise, had to FD, wait to reapply the disguise (thank god you don't have to gather materials again), then run back in from a distance.

Be VERY careful not to aggro the arcane anahilator (or w.e his name is) i got his aggro next this row of sunfury guards and got the crap beaten outa me :/.

Big elite golem/elemental guy patrols around the entrance to the meeting, he is hostile and will attack you, if he does then your costume turns off and the other guys will gang up on you.

Has no problems with this, put on disguise (which is cool) sneaked in, listened, sneaked out. No problems :)

At first I thouht this was buged as I heard the convo twice and didn't complete.

Third time I stood right next to Ardnis and got it.

The Arcane Annihalotor will aggro you despite the disguise.

I'm fairly sure this is a bug, because when I tried to do it, a Nether Anomaly walked THROUGH THE WALL, aggroed me, and I died. (Because my disguise fell off, and then I aggroed about 8 mobs)

The quest is not bugged but it is a bit picky.

First of all remember that you need to avoid the Annihilator.

Next thing, which is a bit counterintuitive, dont run out of aggro range when the Pathaleaon the Curator's Image spawns and joins in the conversation. Even though he shows up as red he wont aggro you. If you move back you wont get credit for "hearing" the conversation.

seems to not work as of 1st feb, have tried this 7 times now and there is no conversation, blizz says they know of the issue and are working on it, but 3 days still no go.

I've tried completing this quest a couple of times now and every time an Annihilator is blocking the hall. I can't even get close without him aggroing me and destroying my disguise and then dying because I aggro the whole room. =/ Guess I'll just have to keep waiting then. =/

Also you can't keep the disguise and abandon the quest... you can only use the disguise at that specific location.

lol i just did it & it worked, just put on the costume when you recieve it & run Inside the building where you used the controls in the previous quest.
Then run around till you c some sort of entrance to a smaller room where a lot of guards standing, which salute you when you enter. Then just go near the 2 Elvenlords & wait a bit till the conversation is over. Then you get a Quest complete :)

You have to stand very close to them. I was further back and it did not complete.
So I walked out a bit took off the buff, put back on suit and stood right next to them. It completed just fine the 2nd time.

Did not get it completed unless I stood very close to the talking NPCs in TBC Classic.

I've prepared a uniform with the pieces you obtained. It is magically enhanced to complete the illusion.

We spotted Commander Dawnforge going in to meet Arcanist Ardonis a few minutes ago. He had a full retinue of guards with him, so whatever they're discussing is bound to be incredibly important; see if you can catch any of it.

Oh, I almost forgot. You'll want to stay away from the arcane golems patrolling the manaforge. They will see right through the illusion.
