Spawns about every 5 minutes and makes a bee line right down the hill when he spawns. So if you see his corpse and there's several people about, make sure you clear all the conjurers, or they'll frostbolt you and make it hard to catch and tag him.

the coords are right for his spwan 57,65. the easy way to kill him with no agro is to wait for him to move from a camp to another because there are passage ways between them thats your best chance.

get the quest item after you kill him and summon the image of the mage

You must kill the water elemental first. I just waited for him to spawn 3 times because I didn't realize until it was way to late.

There seems to be some confusion regarding Summoner Kanthin and his elemental so hopefully this will clear everything up.

It does not matter whether you kill the Summoner or Glacius first, as long as you are on the quest he will always drop the Stone of Glacius. If you do kill the Summoner first, the elemental will not despawn, so you'll either have to kill it or run away and leash it.

They're both rather easy mobs and it is possible to ranged pull the Summoner and his pet at a few locations throughout his patrol; I did so from near one of the Manaforge's entrances. Summoner Kanthin casts fire-based spells (such as Fireball and Pyroblast) and the water elemental will just beat on you in melee range for about 250 physical damage (on cloth).

The elemental will from now on despawn when you've killed Summoner Kanthin. :)

57,66 does appear to behis spawn point just keep the area clear and you wont have any problems

you can also do down with daellis at the same time

Summoner Kanthin's Prize

Defeat Summoner Kanthin at Manaforge Duro, on the island to the north of Sunfury Hold, and reclaim the Stone of Glacius from him. When you have obtained the stone, use Archmage Vargoth's Staff to contact the archmage.

If you lose Archmage Vargoth's Staff, speak to Ravandwyr at Area 52 to receive a replacement.

The next thing we must do is reclaim my familiar, Glacius, from the blood elf summoner who holds it captive. Summoner Kanthin was one of the most senior magisters in the force Kael'thas sent to decimate Kirin'Var. It's only natural that he would claim my familiar as a kind of trophy.

I'm certain that Kanthin, fool that he is, has tried to compel Glacius to serve him. My scrying has revealed that Kanthin is now stationed at 'Manaforge Duro,' if that terminology has any meaning for you.
