This quest is only elite because of the mountain gronn eyeball. The mountain gronn itself is easily solable(I did it at 64) and the eye dropped on kill #1. The windrocs you need are located in the Northwestern portion of the zone and the Aged Clefthooves(the hardest part) are located mianly in the Southwest. It took me an hour of farming these clefthooves to get the blubber to drop, as they aren't as populated as most mobs in the zone ~ very unenjoyable hour.

Clefthoove (south - south west) dropped 1st mob and the birds (north - north west) took 5 kills then drop and the mountain gronns (west - north west) were really hard to find but then it dropped first kill.

The cords and everything is correct, they're not really hard to find.
Dont know if I was extremely lucky, but I got the Mountain Gronn Eyeball and the Flawless Greater Windroc Beak on my first kill, and the aged cleefthoof blubber on my 3rd kill.

I don't know if i'm the only one but i killed the birds for over an hour then right as i was fixing to post this it dropped.

To make the Mountain Gronn portion of the quest extremely easy, try to find one fighting ogre(s) up the path starting @ 28,31. The ogres will get the Gronn down a bit before they die, so just engage the elite before he finishes off the ogre.

I found one fighting 2 ogres and he wound up @ 41% before he aggrod to me after finishing the ogres off.

Stop posting kill results and specific coords, that info isn't very useful as the mobs are wide-spread. Click on the item to see what the recorded drop percentage is. According to the current percentages, the items should all drop within around 5 kills, if not, then make sure you are killing the right mobs, otherwise just keep killing and it will drop soon enough.

The drop rate is inaccurate, because it is counting the total kills... ever... for any reason, and comparing it to the number of times this particular quest item has dropped

Okay heres what i did.

Mountain Gronn found at 27.0, 53.5 Mountaid Gronn eyeball dropped on first kill.
Greater Windroc found at 30.3, 34.0 Flawless Greater Windroc Beak dropped on Third kill
Aged Clefthoof found at 30.7, 64.3 Aged Clefthoof Blubber Dropped on first kill.

if its any helps the windroc and clefthoof were both found around the named elites that you kill for the end of the hunting line that you complete for Helmet Nesingwary in the Nesingwary Safari quests

Does the potion that lets you "forever see into the world of the dead" let you see anything else that you couldn't before? I know about the ghosts near the entrance to Auchindoun, and assume there's more in the general area, but are there any elsewhere in the world? Any not in outland? Any particularly worth noting?

This quest is crazy, I have done it 3 times now on 3 different characters. First time I farmed the clefthoofs for 2 hours. Second time I was grouped with a priest, it dropped on second kill. Third time (today) I farmed it for 2 hours again.

Now I know it's about luck... but for every character so far the other 2 items dropped first or second kill.

Also, Bobsson, it lets you see the ghosts that run around in Nagrand, there are many of them wandering around. The quest https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=10045 also gives you the "spirit sight", I could use the repair guy in front of Crypts after doing it. But for alliance, the Levixus questline is the only way to see the repairer afaik.

Mountain Gronns are fearable and don't have a 100% drop rate. <_<

Killed 2 aged clefthoofs near Oshu'Gun 32,60 and got drop. 50% drop rate on blubber.
Killed 3 greater windroc's outside Forge Camp Hate 30,34 and got drop. 33% drop rate on beak.
Killed 1 mountain gronn at 25,28 and got drop. 100% drop rate on eyeball.
Also a helpful thing with mountain gronn. If you got any attack speed reduces use them, they hit fast. And warriors i suggest shield. I got pwned using 2h even at 70 and used bandage. Used shield and lost only 1.5k hp. If you dont find a gronn at locations look around i found one by wandering aimlessly near 25,28.

I was running around doing a bunch of the other quests and would grba a clefthoof everytime i saw it, never got the drop until I was right about 30,60.

Call it coincidence or whatever but several others posted that similar coord (32,60) (32,64) as getting the blubber. I probably killed 12-15 of them throughout the day and this just ended up where I got it.

Got the Mountain Gronn Eyeball on my first kill, easily solod a Gronn as a level 68 fire mage.

Got the Aged Clefthoof Blubber at around my 5th kill, drops off Aged Cletfhoofs which occoupy the western part of Nagrand. I found a couple between the 2 Forge Camps (Hate and Fear).

Lastly, the Flawless Greater Windroc Beak dropped on my 4th Greater Windroc killed. You can find about 6-7 of those around 31,33, or directly north-east of Forge Camp: Hate.

As a warlock, you can also enslave one of the elite felguards from the nearby forge and use it to kill a gronn. Its pretty easy if you do it this way.

A lvl 65 feral druid can also easily solo a Gronn, just use pounce then mangle and shred.

When he's not stunned any more use bleed finishmove.

Then shift to bear use enrage and stunn him, Then you just maul and mangle him to death.

BE SURE that you have used demo' roar it helps alot.

Never got me down to 99% health. Blocked everything. He is stunnable by the way.

For warlocks the eyeball couldn't be easier. At the SW tip of Forge Camp: Hate there is usually a 66elite Mountain gronn just walking back and forth. Walk to the Forge Camp enslave one of the nearby Elite Fel Guards at the camp and walk it over and kill the gronn. The Elite FG even enslaved will smack things for 1k and make this part of the quest take approximately 2 minutes.

This quest is easy soloable.
Mountain Gronn Eyeball - easy to solo, find the one at Warmaul Hill, and wait until he's fighting against an ogre, the ogre should "tank" him for a while, and after that, he dosn't really hit hard.
Flawless Greater Windroc Break - Drops from Greater Windrocs, you can find the greater windrocs in the north-western part of Nagrand.
Aged Clefthoof Blubber - Drops from Aged Clefthoof's, really crappy droprate, compared to how many/little of them there are. I tried my luck West from Oshu'gun, and there seems to be alot of the mobs there.

Looks like 100% drop rate on the eyeball. The drop rate is still horrible on the beak and blubber, though. Took me about 20 kills to get those. Since the aged clefthoofs are so spread out that means about an hour. Kill the living cyclones while you are here. They share a spawn with the aged clefthoofs.

This quest is really quite easy... soloed as 70 feral druid (average gear: mostly blues). Got all 3 items on first kill. Found the aged clefthoof west of Oshu'gun, found the greater windroc in NW part of map, and found the mountain gronn on my way to the greater windroc. The mountain gronn isn't hard at all. I just went into bear form, only took my health down about 1/4. Didn't even have to heal.

For a prot warrior, the gronn is the easiest part of the quest. He hits only slightly harder than normal mobs, with a couple thousand hp more. Beat him down just like any other.

Drop rates seem to be improved. I got blubber on my second kill, beak on my fourth.

I killed 1000 clefthoofs.. yet it hast dropped for me. so as usuall. I gave up! Dropped the quest, Thanks blizzard? I don't know whats the reason for you to make low drop rates on mobs that doesn't drop Silver or anything, Whats the point? You want to waste my friggin time, and what the hell do i do with Nitrin's Instructions.. GG I'm out.

after that quest I said OKAY, Thats it. I will quit the game, for 2 hours.

The blubber did indeed take a while. Grab the daily residue quest and you'll get that while mining or skinning (if you can) your boredom kills :P

-The Windroc item and the Mountain gronn Item are simple. The Aged Clefthoof may take some time. The respawn rate on them is just aweful. also- ALLIANCE! STOP KILLING PEOPLE WHEN QUESTING. ITS NOOB.

This is a long quest chain that starts at the destroyed cenarion camp in Terokkar Forest.

Mountain Gronn (67 elite): near Warmaul Hill, 26,30. Should drop off one kill. Easy to solo. (Not the only location, but the easist since the warmaul ogres will also attack these)

Greater Windrocs are around the Aged Clefthoof corpses. One is at the entrance to Warmaul Hill, 29,32. I had the item drop after 2 kills. THere are other locations if youre having problems with drop rates though. Such as around 36,28.

Aged Clefthoofs are all along the western section of Nagrand, and even to the south around oshu'gun. Search for Aged Clefthoof, or just click on the blubber at the top - you can see a map of where they are. I recieved mine after one kill, though many have said that this is the hardest one to farm. Good luck.

The aged clefthoofs can be found randomly around Oshgugun, however, the aged clefthoofs can be found on the way to warmaul hill, which is where the Gronns are. The greater windrocs can be found at the bottom of the path of warmaul hill. They are flying around a dead aged clefthoof. I was able to find all the items at or by warmaul hill.

This part of the quest chain is totally soloable. Why it suggest 3 is beyond me.
I did it at 68, so unless you can get it at 60 or lower, you don't need help.

As a 68 Hunter, I can solo both easy and got all items in 5 mins, few kills
The Best spot I suggest, is arround 33.28,
Near Warmaul Hill.
all 3 mobs:

Greater Windroc
Mountain Gronn
can easy find here, and the drop rates is not bad for me.

Level 64 naked warrior with a fist weapon. Went down like nothing. Piece of pie, 2 hits each and they was all dead.

Ok I just had a flash of brilliance - if you are having trouble soloing the Mountain Gronn, which I was as a priest.

Go to Warmaul Hill and you will find one roaming around fighting ogres. When he's at low health, pounce on him, easy kill. I got my quest item on the first kill. (27,28).

Gronn doable at 65. Druid: Cast regrowth, and moonfire pull. Shift to bear.
Bash, mangle, maul, rinse and repeat. Only used 28% hp. Try it out...

There are also Aged Clefthoofs at 37,60. Annoyingly low droprate on the blubber. The other two dropped at first kill for me in the North. Might have been luck, though.

All of the spawns are along the west side of Nagrand, pretty easy, the Gronn's are elite mini Sons of Gruul. :-)

Apparently the respawn rate on the aged clefthoofs is absolutely horrible too. I showed up in western nagrand today only to find all of them had been killed. No problem I thought, I'll just wait for respawn. Well, 20 minutes later I'm still sitting here looking at their corpses. Way to go Blizzard, this game just gets more and more fun every day...

The gronn was the only difficult part. Would have been easier if I had attacked one that was fighting an ogre, but I wanted the challenge of doing it on my own. Took 2 attempts (first attempt was rudely interrupted by a visit from Bach'lor and his harem), but solo'd as a 64 pally.

Note: the attain on this quest should be lowered to 64.

really easy .. got the mountain gronn eyeball from the first kill and then the other two from the aged clefthoof and the greater roc.. i was lvl 70..waited until the ogres attacked the gronn and then hit with curse of agony and waited... when health went down then I sent in Felguard..easy kill..

The problem as a 66 Feral Druid was not the killing even of the 67 Mountain Gronn that isn't a slouch. The problem with this quest is Blizzard in their infinite wisdom thought it would be cool to have 4 or 5 dead Aged Clefthoofs for scenery. Now if after killing over a couple dozen Aged Clefthoofs without getting the Blubber you can appreciate my annoyance. It didn't take more than about a half dozen Rocs before I got that drop and the first Mountain Gronn dropped his eye. So expect to put in alot of time on the Aged Clefthoofs. I have been at it two days scouring the whole West side of Nagrand killing every Aged Clefthoof I see and I still haven't got the blubber.

I killed TEN mountain gronns and NO eyeball yet. What a waste of time. Only three spawn at a time and they take like 5 minutes to respawn.

The aged clefthoof Blubber has a 14% drop rate and the respawn rate of them is about 1/25 mintues...

The clefthoofs are spread out all over the place, they are hard to find and the blubber has a low drop rate. Kill the air elementals! Giving credit to an old 2008 comment, they share a spawn with the aged clefthoofs and you will get to the point where you will see a ton of the elementals and none of the clefthoofs.

This quest is fairly easy to do except for the drop rate of the Age Clefthoof Blubber. Not only is it a low drop rate but the Age Clefthooves are spread out all across the west side of the map and there are very few of them. Their respawn time seems to be really long too. I ended up killing 37 before the blubber finally dropped.

It has already begun. Levixus stands atop the ruins of Auchindoun and reads from the book of the dead. He calls the dead out by name and, through demonic ritual, binds the tortured souls to his will. He will raise all of Auchindoun if given the chance!

But... you must first prepare. You cannot do battle with that which you cannot see.

Bring me the items I require to brew the tincture. It will open your mind and allow you to see into the spirit world.
