There is no event or anything after you complete the quest. The only thing that changed is that you seem to be immune to the curse of the Violet Tower in that place.

Don't know if anyone noticed the text where the archmage says "some scryed to remember, some scryed to forget" which is obviously an ironic refrence to Hotel California, considering the archmage can't leave the tower he is in.

I think no rewards and follow ups means that this chain will be continued in future , and mb...this will be chain for Black Temple key(or any other future instances).

Actually...it was affected/cut down by 50% but in a way you wouldn't expect.After you complete the quest and you aren't cursed, you do double your normal damage while in the tower. For example my normal fire ball (unbuffed) just hit for 4k. It normally hits around 2k.

So not having the curse in the tower allows you to double your normal damage. ^^ Having it just causes you to do your normal.

Actually, it only decreased melee damage and not spell damage and effects :D

Sadly this quest line is unfinished for now. But I do think it would be very interesting when it is complete. This chain had us picking up items that had belonged to Krasus. And of course Krasus is the alias for the red dragon Korialstrasz who is a major character in several of the Warcraft novels.

If somehow this chain were to lead us to meeting Krasus I would be very excited.

Almost glad it ended, I needed room in my quest log. But it did seem to be abrupt, with only a gold reward.

did the entire chain except last 2 parts at level 69 - great for the xp - bit disappointed not getting some item or something though

As a duelwielder (enhancement shaman) the curse affects me, but only my offhand damage. Mainhand remains untouched.

The 50% damage reduction in this tower is a joke. Your damage is in fact reduced by 50%, but the big guardian's overall weakness is doubled. Once I turned this quest in I went down and killed him, but noticed something peculiar...my Unstable Affliction was ticking for 1100 damage. I checked my combat log from *before* i turned the quest in, and it had been ticking away for 450.

Talk about lame. All that work for 24 g at 70? Thanks blizzard. At least I ran botanica on a daily quest day so it wasnt a complete waste of time. You would think they would at least give you bonus rep with some factions or something.

When you are done with the quest at this point its over so you can destroy Archmage Vargoth's Staff if you dont think its fun anymore and is just filling up your bags.

1/5 blizz boooooh! You could have gotten 5/5 if you just made a little reward. Doesnt even have to be uber, just had to be satisfying and funny. Like the underspore frond for example.

I went in circles for hours as a prot warrior and went through 5 red bulls jsut to experience emptyness at the end? BOO HOO Blizzard. This is perhaps the worse chain ever and if I see one more like this I swear I am gonna have to stop questing forever. LoL.

Ok seriously though "1" BLUE reward would really make me feel I didn't run in circles all for nuttn cause 25 gold is too ez for me to make. Grrr.

Maybe a DEFENSE SHOULDER for exmaple? Damn.

while yes this quest chain is long and sucks that it's not coloable all the way through given the lack of reward at the end, being 70 i made a nice bit of gold off this 11-13 / section X 11 sections = 121 gold min for the whole quest chain. x if you're 70 that is. if not it's only about 55 gold or so + the exp. it's nothing to complaign about.

I atleast figured he would be like the lady in Arathi Highlands where she sends you everywhere to get things to make her come alive again just to find out she is evil, i was hopin he'd be evil and u had to kill him.

So do you really need to find 4 other people to help with this? If so that is not very well thought out by Blizz. The rest of the line was easy, well not Apex, but the rest was.

Just cause the questline ends here now, doesn't mean with some future major patch he won't have more. This may be a pre-req to attune to some raid or gain the key to some instance that isn't live yet. He is an archmage, who knows what crazy mojo he may have in the future.

It is unfortunate that the reward after a considerable amount of effort isn't all that great. Yeah, it's over a hundred gold, but repair costs could be pricey, depending on your class and armor.
Personally, I would have liked to receive some unique item simply due to the amount of time and effort put into this quest.

Not to mention needing a group to get the final key. Hopefully something decent drops in Botanica.

All in all, a questline I really wish I hadn't come upon.

Anyone know the limits of using this staff (Netherstorm only?) or did it manage to slip past safeguards and is useable anywhere?

this is the worst quest line. you have to run around like a headless chicken and you don't even gain anything from it, except some gold. wish i checked this page before accepted the first quest.

There were decent rewards two steps earlier in the chain, but this was a real anticlimax. Engaging line of quests, and loads of xp/gold depending when you start, but the end leaves you flat.

Ppl go complete the quest and the staff will remain in your inventory after that. Disapointing indeed but at least it was easy. And gold is gold and i need as much as i can get for my dragon :))

Venture into Tempest Keep's Botanica and retrieve the Keystone from Commander Sarannis. Bring it to Archmage Vargoth at the Violet Tower.

It doesn't surprise me that Kael'thas has put the key to this ward in the hands of someone like Commander Sarannis. Prince Kael'thas is a great many things, but he is no simpleton.

In order to break this curse once and for all, you must enter Tempest Keep and claim the keystone.

Only once the keystone has been destroyed will I regain my freedom.
