This quest chain is required to be able to do the caverns of time instance/events. You can't do the first one (Thralls Escape) without doing this quest. The second one, The Opening of the Dark Portal, cannot be done without doing the Thrall event. So in other words, you have to do this chain to even visit the CoT instances. :(

At level 60, you can't even see the greyed out exclemation point above the quest-giver.

Do you need to do it to enter the instance? Or is it just to get the quest?

When you accept the quest, make sure you are not mounted. I was, got a dumb error message and have had a pain trying to do it now because of the problems this caused.

I was confused.. here is a more clear picture what to do.

Follow me, please.

Fly/summon to Tanaris or COT. Go in front, you'll see a 'friendly' dragon inside the tunnel. Talk to it, get a quest.

Then run/ride all way down to bottom, you'll see a glowing circle with 2 kids there. That's the boy you need to speak to.

The Black Morass Attunement Full Questline:

1. To The Master's Lair. Accept the quest on Caverns of Time entrance and speak with the dragon to fly into Caverns of Time.

2. The Caverns of Time. Accept the quest and stay afk around 7-9 minutes in the pink circle until get the quest credit.

3. Old Hillsbrad. Return the quest to Erozion inside Old Hillsbrad Dungeon. /way 27,1, 37,3 Entrance

4. Taretha's Diversion. Go to the First Boss area and use Pack of Incendiary Bombs on 5 Barrels located inside the houses. Return quest for Thrall located inside the Castle.

5. Escape from Durnholde. Make sure take this quest before speak with Thrall. The objective here is follow and help Thrall until reach the final boss.

6. Return to Andormu. Grab this quest after defeat the final boss Epoch Hunter and return to Andormu located outside the dungeon.

As of 2021-06-04 - you need to be lvl 66 to be able to pick this quest up. Level 65, or 64 will not do - so do not bother coming here on earlier levels.

I wonder how you were supposed to learn about this quest back in 2007? There is no breadcrumb quest from Shattrath/Outland, like Karazhan has (Archmage Alturus), and you never have any incentive to visit Caverns of Time, especially at level 66.
