Basically, this helps you escape with Thrall, becareful though, you will want a strong party to take on the mobs when rescueing thrall.

The internment camps are the 5 rectangular buildings in the lower area, where the orc prisoners are congregated.

Thrall doesn't wait after any of the encounters for you to rest up (drink/eat) so be ready with pots, mana gems, healthstones, and make good use of CC and counter-spelling on the healing (wardens) and sheeping (mages) trash mobs. Take down the wardens ASAP and keep the mages poly'd or otherwise unable to cast as much as possible (one battle on the bridge has two mages). Otherwise the wardens will heal the other mobs (incl. the second boss), and the mages will polymorph your group's healer for 10-20 seconds.

You will have a few seconds to rest up after the second boss, and if you kill the first three waves prior to the Epoch Hunter quickly you will have a few more seconds to rest up before fighting him.

If you are looking to get out of the instance, for whatever reason, you need to go where the Yeti caves are. It is directly north from southshore and west of tarren mills.

If you are doing a key-run a rogue can solo the lower part: (if you want to speed things up a bit)

This can be done while rest of party clear first groups of humanoids on their way to Thralls prison.

Simply sap the humanoid inside the houses and you'll be able to set the incendiary bombs.
Note: avoid the wolfpatrols since they see through stealth. :)

It appears that if someone WITHOUT the quest uses the bombs, the ones WITH the quest won't get credit for it. If you don't have the quest, simply have the ones with the quest use the barrel again where you place the explosives. This is in patch 2.1

I dunno why, but I didn't get the objective even tho I had the bombs in my inventory and everyone else in my party got the objective. Another run for me. FTL

Tryed to complete it three times, without sucess. We did burn everything, took the boss down, but no 'quest complete' message. So sad :(

Not only make sure all complete before talking to Thrall, also TAKE the new quest all. THEN talk to thrall and press the white text.
You dont start event by talking new quest, so take it first.

This quest stinks, did the whole quest killed the dragon at the end and discovered I can't turn in the quest even though its completed becuase even though people in the group talked to thrall I never did, totaly screwed on this one wasted 2 hours, make sure you talk him

yeah can be solo by rogue with distract help and MoD also can be good but that doggies i hate them , agroing all mobs with just one bark come on its just a dog...
need to use blind in stealth with a more range like distract...

you can see patrols but be careful sometimes they enter into houses and there is one patroling near Thrall also

Did this today, didnt get it done even if the rest of my party got it done hate these things, i didnt set a single barrel can it be that what made my quest go nuts and didnt complete? slayed the boss that spawns and evrything up to epoch hunter im on a low populated server or atleast horde side is low populated so i cant expect to find another group there untill next week or something ffs.....

Can be soloed as a Rogue, just watch out for the dog pats.

To further the quest... you have to place at least one bomb. Just had a group that let the rogue set them all, and the rest of us have to do it again. Sucks that it doesn't link like escort quest attempt to do.

This is not the real Durnehold Keep. It is an instance inside Caverns of Time.

I show the quest completed...now I have to try and go back to turn in. BAH!

How to do Taretha's Diversion:

accept the quest
go to Durnholde Keep
use Pack of Incendiary Bombs on 5x Barrel located inside houses
defeat the first boss Lieutenant Drake
return quest for Thrall located inside the Castle

Make sure you deliver this quest to thrall before starting the escort.

I have a macro warning people in my party 5 times before going inside that people that aren't on this quest SHOULD NOT CLICK THE BARRELS.

I've done this instance 3 times now and some idiot ran in and did one or two barrels without telling anyone ruining it for everyone that's on the quest.

I feel like people are doing it on purpose now just to @#$% with people. And blizzard refuses to fix this quest or help players that have written tickets about them to mark them as completed.

Turn in the quest, then accept the next part. The escort starts when you use the speech bubble option.
It does not auto-share.

Travel to Durnholde Keep and set 5 incendiary charges at the barrels located inside each of the internment lodges using the Pack of Incendiary Bombs given to you by Erozion.

Speak to Thrall in the basement prison of Durnholde Keep when you have the Internment Lodges Set Ablaze.

Taretha was integral in Thrall's survival and upbringing and instrumental in shaping Thrall's life.

It was Taretha who created the original diversion at Durnholde, allowing Thrall to escape.

Now the Infinite have captured Taretha and hold her at Tarren Mill. The diversion will not happen without our involvement. You must use the incendiary devices that I give you and burn down the internment lodges in Durnholde. When you have done this, speak with young Thrall in the basement prison of Durnholde.
