Cragskaar paths around with the other Farahlite Giants (roughly 48, 19). He's killable with just two people, though, like the other giants, he splits into smaller Cragskaar fragments, so you'll want to clear the area to avoid unnecessary adds.

Solod him as a lvl 70 felguard warlock. Just take your time so you dont take aggro from your felguard (but be ready with soulshatter) and keep the dps low so you dont get too many of his adds at the same time. When an add spawns (every 25% I think), put your felguard on it long enough to apply dots and then put him back on Cragskaar. The add should die before it leaves your felguard. Just remember to use health funnel liberally. If your felguard gets low pop a trinket for super health funnel.

Solod him as a dark pact warlock, just ran, he's faster then you, but when he comes close he performs a knockback that takes you far away from him for a while. Took 2 min.

The easy way. Just remember to have all dots running on him all the time.

Soloed as Shadowpriest, just fear each time an add spawn and dot-mindblast him. Run away from the elite but apply a dot first so he wont get out of combat.

For balance druids he isn't soloable (not for me that is). He is immune to roots but not cyclone, if someone wanna try solo anyway

This can be done as a Warlock without kiting with any spec. Enslave the named elite demon at Forge Base Gehenna and use it to tank Crag. Leave the fire attack on autocast but save the AoE ability for when he spawns an add. If you let the demon engauge and fire off two attacks he should maintain aggro the entire fight and you can unload on Crag.

Solo'd as a 70 Fire Mage with Blazing Speed talent. I was unable to freeze or otherwise slow him down, however, he moves fairly slow and I actually ended up kiting him South into and about halfway through the Stormspire dome.

Solo'ed as a 70 resto shaman, don't even need to kite him, just put down earth ele let him tank, I did pull aggro a few times but went right back to the ele. The ele tanked the adds aswell, ran out of the 2 minute timer and popped down the fire ell to finishs crag and the adds off, pretty easy, takes about 2 minutes 30 seconds.

Awbee is right I just soloed him with my 69 demon lock not very hard just pace yourself.

Solo 'ed him as a lvl 70 combat specced rogue. DPS him down and blind/gouge - use bandages, put in evasion, blade flurry and adrenalin rush and dps him down. Just in case keep a hp pot ready.

Solo'd him as a 70 feral druid in bear form. The trick was to take out the adds as soon as they spawned and then go back to the boss.

He has a very nasty knockback that almost had me over the edge once or twice. Knockbacks far enough for you finish a heal before he gets to you if your quick.

Solo'd as a balance Druid. Took a while, but just used Insect swarm, moonfire, and travel form to get away from him. Kited him south along the path. Rejuv'd when needed. wasn't hard

Solo'd this as a 70 Marks Hunter. Just wait for him to path as close to the road as you can, then use Cheetah and run him west on the road. By the time you get to the bridge you should have him down. Serpent sting and Multi for dmg, rank 1 arcane to keep him mad, and run him through a snake trap in the beginning just to hurt him a little extra. You can also put your pet on him after a bit, since he will be so mad at you the pet won't pull him off.

Soloed as a 70 holy paladin, judged wisdom and hacked away while using avenging wrath. Not that much harder than the previous quest, just make sure to keep your health up in case of a punt.

Soloable as a 70 protection warrior. Thunderclap demo shout, sunder and shield slam. When the adds spawn, refresh demo and thunderclap so it hits them too and just dps it down.

Keep shield block up and this guy and his adds will hit you for next to nothing.

Soloable with L68 Tankadin, use BoW, JoL and SoL, use your stuns/invulnerability wisely (bandages) and always kill adds first (put JoL and SoL on them too).

Easily soloable as a Level 70 Elemental Shaman. Just pop down a Searing Totem and use Earth Elemental as tank. Then just keep spamming your usual Lightning Bolts and Chain Lightnings at the right time as well as using your other cooldowns (Elemental Mastery, Natures Swiftness?) and he'll be dead in less then a minute with more than 50% health and 50% mana. Adds are taken care of easily after the big dude is dead by the way. :)

Did just like Radbod..Took to Forge:Gehenna and enslaved Silroth..He is a great tank with almost(or more) hp the Crag....Just Aoe when the adds spawns. The fight took me 30 sec :D

hardest part of this quest if you want to solo it is to avoid the other giants when you pull.

that said.. that's dead easy.. atleast for a hunter.

kited him on the road.. easy. serpent and arcaneshot.

As a balance druid, it is possible to solo, but difficult. He is actually immune to roots AND cyclone. I killed him (as a 34/027 moonkin), though I blew Nature's Swiftness, Innervate, and a Healing Pot in order to do it. I also had to shift out twice to heal. I accidentally pulled an elite add nearby, so I killed him and died about a second later, but it would've been possible to live if I were smart. Still finished the quest though.

Well this one is easy to kite for a mage too. Its just about keep ice lancing and blink when he gets to close. He doesnt deal much dmg and will bash u when he hits u so u dont even need to blink

Easy with a Arcane/Fire Mage. Just pull him to the road and kite him there with spamming fireblast and ice lance.
The adds will just run after you but they leave after a few sec.

Soloed as a 70 affliction warlock. It was unbelievably easy. Positioned myself on the rocks, cast unstable affliction on the guy and started running towards the path that encircles the dome, applying my instant dots occasionally. He hit me from behind twice during the run and catapulted - did almost no damage. The whole run took about a minute, never went under 98% hp. While elaborate tactics are sweet this one is a no-brainer and works like a charm.

Really, really easy as a balance druid. Started up with popping one +dmg-trinket and 2 Starfires. Then I went Moonfire+Insect Swarm and Travel Form to get away from the giant. All you have to do is to reapeat the Moonfire+Insect Swarm while you are running wherever you please in Travel Form.

Dont loose aggro, cast a new Moonfire when your present Moonfire-dot has almost ticked out The same with Insect Swarm.

I tried cyin's method, and it worked.

My 70 resto shammy laid down the Elemental Totems, and hit up Cragskaar with melee. Although the adds killed me post-battle, I managed to loot the quest item from Cragskaar's body.

I didn't want to deal with other adds in the area, so I pulled it up a ramp nearby from 47,21 to 48,22 which leads to Ruins of Farahlon.

Solo'd this as a 70 prot warrior. Keep shield block up always, dont worry about dps'n him silly, take your time, thunderclap and demoralizing shout so you take even less damage, sunders here and there, and then the other little guys. easy as pie. oh yea, try and put your back to something so you dont get smacked into another giant.

Soloed as a 70 rogue. Simply kite him by using Gouge, getting distance and Deadly Throw so he wont get out of combat and run away, also did some normal throws while having sprint on, so I had enough space. Kited him to the guards at Stormspire and finished him with having evasion on, pretty easy.

Solo'd as a feral druid. I saw him as I was finishing off another giant, clearing to fight him, and with 1k mana left, figured I'd just attack him to see if he was stunnable, then reset and get ready to take him on for real. In fact, he is pounceable, maimable, and bashable, and it was going so well I just finished him off. The trick of stunning him at 75/50/25% so he doesn't split works on him too; I found him no harder than the regular giants. Just think of the knockback as time to get energy/enrage/heal.

There is an area around 48,17 where you're at the bottom of a hill with a large crystal outcrop on the other side. I found him patrolling past there & pulled him in. Using the crystal/hill as a brace I was uninterrupted for the 6 or 7 minutes it took me to kill him (resto shammies: we've never killed anything quickly ;) ).

He's definitely soloable as a resto shammie, and hence probably also as a holy pally. No elementals used - just grind him into the ground, take out the adds as they pop & out heal him. I did use a mana pot for safety's sake, but I didn't really need it (finished on ~3500 mana).

Soloed as a spriest (70). He doesn't hit hard, just kite him back towards Stormspire. Only has roughly 25khps, adds can be feared away if they aggro. Blackout also worked on him.

Soloed him as a feral druid (lvl70) found him very easy. Opened in catform, applied usual Prowl, Shred and Rip and went into Bear for rest of the fight. He doesn't hit hard at all, just keep Demo on him and reapply once add spawns. I charged him midair as soon as he knocked me back, killed first 2 adds as they spawned and ignored 3rd one until after Cragskaar was killed. No heals were needed. Simple way of making 12g and a primastic shard :D

Bear has 21k AC and 12k HP

Love being demon lock lol. Hes not immune to the felguards charge, used amply curse, curse of doom. then corrup and immplate as the felguard tanked him. uses health funnel when needed, as the other giants, had the felg kill the adds, re dotted the big man and had COD finish him off.

Soloed as Kara epiced rogue (combat swords). If you're a fresh 70 or so, you'll probably want a healer :P.
He does that thing all rock giants do and spawn little guys. His are non elite, but have decent HP.

Easily solo'd this as feral druid in tank gear. Ignored shardlings just focused on boss.
Didn't have to heal once and dropped perhaps 2-3k HP total. Imp LotP helped ofc. :>

Solo'd as a 69 frost mage. I got in one good frost bolt to pull, then ran along the road spamming icelance behind me. I kited him all the way to Stormspire, taking off around 50% of his health in the process, than iceblocked near the guards. They finished him off for me and I looted the quest item.

solo'd as 70 BM hunter, just let my pet tank while i hit burned him down as fast as possible, didnt bother kiting around, adds weren't really a problem, i killed them afterwards cause they started bugging me

Can be also soloed by combat rogue, just use AR, Evasion, try to have him stunned at 75%, 50%, 25% (I had one add due to cooldown on kidney). I had to use one health potion tho.

Just a minor tip, it seems that he walks slower as he gets smaller, for example he could easily outrun me at full strength, but not after his last "breakdown" (at 25%) so I just nuked him down to 25% as a frost mage, then simply ran while ice lancing on the run to get the final 25%.

Pretty easy solo as a marks spec'd Hunter (10/47/4) with blue gear. By making make sure that Mend Pet is always cast and unloading as much as possible without drawing aggro from my pet, I was able to take this guy down without wiping. I tried to interrupt like was suggested, but could not get the timings right. Make sure that you don't aggro any of the patting giants around him! They can cause... complications.

Couldn't imagine it would be much harder on any other class.

I just soloed this as a balance druid, lvl 70 with epic pvp gear. I used trees, and just nuked him with moonfire and wrath, kept the adds for last, since they're easy enough. No problem, didnt have to use potions or anything.
I can confirm the coordinates by the way, he may be hard to find, since he looks excactly like all the others, but just keep an eye out for him, and you hsould be fine.

As Gape pointed out earlier, the absolute essential is to stun just before 75%, 50 % and 25%. If you do that and damage him through 75, 50 and 25%, then YOU WON'T GET ANY ADDS AT ALL. Naturally, that makes it dramatically easier.

Unlike the other giants he is immune to both fear and slow. However, he is still easily kitable by an affliction based warlock because he punts you around. Just use the punt to your advantage and he is easily soloable.

Regarding the ads, just use freezing trap and fd as soon as you can!

Found him and cleared two of the other Elites
Sent in Ele, ran max range and tossed hate a little with him.
Once Ele died, Cold Snap, summon Ele again.
Ice block and let him chase Ele a bit, then just nuke him down.
Fun challenge for the Magey ones of us =]

You can actually easily pull just this one guy without worrying about all the others. If you stand just off the road to the north but still up on the hill @ 48,21 (if your ranged of course) and pull just this one guy back up to the safty of the road.

I also solo'd him with my feral druid. I did the same thing as I did with the other giant non-named elites. I had to heal once which was okay. All in all, it went smoothly. At the end, when he spawned his last shardling, he kicked me back so far, that the little bugger just stood on the outside and didn't know who to attack since I wasn't within good aggro range.
Note: Only had to kill one elite pat to clear

Soloed as a Arms/Fury Warrior!
1) Activate Berserker Rage
2) Switch to Battle Stance.
3) Engage
4) Apply Thunder Clap & Demoralizing Shout
5) Activate Battle Shout
6) Melee him down using your Strikes and auto attacks.

Note: Ignore the adds till he's dead, but if you are worried about them, just use Intimidating Shout to get them off you for a few moments.

After reading the comments that it was possible to sol it, I decided to give it a try on my lvl 70 Protection Warrior. (just with quest-gear. No full epic or heroic-gear)
It really helps to interupt his add-spawns at 75, 50, 25%. I only interupted the one at 75% (awful timing).
Before the battle started I used a Lesser Ward of Shielding and a Elixir of Superior Defense.
Also used a health pot fairly early on in the battle.
Didn't need a 2nd one. Downed him and his adds with about 15% life left.
Get Shield Block up all the time. He isn't immune to stuns so just pop Revenge whenever it comes up.
Also used Intimidating Shout to buy some time.

A tip may be to pull him up the ledge at 48.19. The opposite side of the wall has a few more Elite stone dudes walking around so try to avoid that side.
For an Elite Giant he wasn't really too hard actually.

Blizzard has a thing with Elite monsters. Some are fairly easy to down by about any class (eventhough its usually suggested in the questlog to have 2-3 ppl for it), while others are almost impossible to solo.

Easily soloable as a prot paladin. Use 5 stacks of Vengeance + Righteousness rotations and consecrate/holy shield the adds down at the end.

I imagine it's soloable as holy as well with Seal of Light.

Soloed as 70 Holy paladin. Only two bg epics, long fight, not tough when you get him alone... just judge seal of wisdom and keep SoW on you. Had Blessing of wisdom to keep consecration up, just healed through what he dealt. Easy fight. 7k health 8k mana

He doesn't have a lot of hp. I killed him as a 18/0/43 rogue in pvp gear. Easy fight, popped the second (grhm) evasion when the ads started piling up and vanished when he died (causing ads to despawn)

Soloed as a 70 resto shaman in epic crafted ele gear and blues. Couldn't use elementals either as I'd blown both (and heroism) on the previous quest involving 4 similar elites.
He has a nasty-ass knockback that throws you away from totems. Basically what's going to kill him is the lbolt spam, just nonstop hit it on him until he's down and don't care about the tiny fragment guys as the magma totem will probably not take them down all the way. when he's down, loot and run. Earth shield of course.
I got outta there with 200hp : )

Twice I kited Cragskaar to the guards for easy killing, twice I got nothing. I couldn't loot the corpse so it may have been changed to require you to do more damage than npc to be able to loot it.

Soloed as affliction warlock with 714 +dmg. Pretty easy with cooldowns, AE fear on adds and just lifedrain tank him... You know the drill. Died afterwards from the adds though, but possibly avoidable.

Shammys can also solo this guy... summon your earth elemental and dps him down, just give some heals to the pet from time to time.

Solo'd as a 70 RESTO druid with only 226 +dmg. Pulled him when he was up near the road, and just kited him up and down the road while keeping a moonfire/insect swarm dots on him and lifebloom/rejuv on myself. Had to use a health pot when he dazed me and was able to get a few good hits in a row on me...it took a couple of minutes but I got him down. He is immune to roots as most bosses are, but has no nature/arcane immunity.

Solo'd him as a 70 shadow priest...Not fearable but doesn't hit very hard, does a minor knockback and summons 2-3 shardlings... A frost mage, warlock and hunter could probably solo pretty easily as well.

OK, that was not easy at all, but I'm stubborn and got him on like the 5th shot.
41/20/0 lock used a voidwalker, then sacced him, then summoned another 1 sacced him and used a hs, and got him, fell to his adds afterwards

Soloed this guy as korvboll.I am a frost mage and it was pretty easy to kite him to Stormspire.Guards started fighting with him and killed him with ease:)Coords correct.

Someone said he couldn't be kited to the Consortium guards anymore.

70 Hunter. Thursday morning, Aug. 9, 2007. Kited him to the Consortium guards just fine. (Coordinates and description of where to find him are perfect)

Worked like a charm. Until.....

The guards jumped on him and I backed up to DPS... right onto the elevator. It took 2-3 seconds to realize what was happening, paniced, and jumped off from a much greater height than I expected. :/ Of course, I died from the fall (or the sudden stop. Take your pick) before he did. But the guards finished him off while I raced back to res. Was able to loot the core with no problem.

Just kite him using ice lance and fire blast all the way to the guards at the stormspire elevator, once there use ice block and he will aggro the guards :) Let them kill him, then loot him ;-)

Cragskaar is at 46, 20, down the ramp.
If you're a warlock, go first to 41, 19 and slave Silroth, an Elite 68 Demon. Go to Cragskaar, throw a single DoT just to deal any damage and the kill counts for you and watch Silroth destroy Cragskaar, the adds and any other mob who enter combat. It's so easy it hurts.

Soloed as lvl 70 holy Pally in mostly PvP Epics and a couple of blues... not really any harder than the other elite giants in the area, healed a few times but not too tough. Tried to kite him but accidently picked up some trash mobs and then he disengaged. Went back pulled him back to avoid elite adds. Pats around 46,20.

Now that we've got a good baseline product, we're going to need something of higher quality. Certainly the farahlite we've gathered so far is nice, but I know there's better out there.

We'll have to get a sample directly from Cragskaar, the patriarch of the Farahlon giants! You should be able to find it among the other giants in the Netherstone area. It's got huge pieces of farahlite jutting from its back and that's exactly what we need. Fell the giant and collect a farahlite core from it.
