You can find him in a church at (63,79). This quest is actually very soloable. Inside his room are two Tortued Spirits which can be pulled independently from Naberius. Naberius casts Frostbolt so it's very easy to LoS him. Don't get too close to the edge because he does a knockback. Lastly, stay out of the red portals he summons.

Definately soloable, just did this as a 68 hunter with ~7k HP. Sent pet in, and just dps as hard as I could. FD to bandage or just pop a super HP pot.

Only dangerous things he does are red portals. Its small aoe 1000 damage per tick. Avoid that and nuke him down before he nuke you with his frostbolts :p

Near-impossible if you're a melee class. He places dots on the ground that tick for 1000 shadow damage every few seconds and doesn't move, so you have no choice but to die.

I can't do it as a warrior, everytime I pummel he does a chill nova, that hits for 850. He hits for 650 and then the thing on the ground hits for 1000. Can't reflect his spells back. I even pop reck and a potion.

I was able to solo this with very minimal support, as a 70 shadow priest. There was a friendly tauren druid who would cast moonfire or starfire on Naberius, but that was towards the end of the fight.

Here is a synopsis of the strategy I used:

Naberius: "Grr, I'm going to cast frostbolt on you"
Player: "I'm going to duck around the corner."
Naberius: "Gosh I can't see you anymore. Let me run after you."
Player: "I came back out from the corner!"
Naberius: "Grr, let me cast frostbolt on you again."

Here is the strategy I used in more detail:

Clear the area surrounding the church of any ghosts. Then clear the inside of the chapel of the two stationary ghosts. Like people have mentioned in previous comments, Naberius will use frostbot as a primary attack. He needs a few seconds to cast this, of course. So what you do, is mindflay or renew any dots you want to use while he is casting, then quickly move out of line of sight from the frostbolt. This will cause him to stop casting, and move after you. Once he does this, move back out into his line of sight. He will again try to frostbolt you. Mindflay, or wand, whichever you prefer. Then before he finishes casting, move out again.

I used the chapel as a means to escape line of sight from Naberius by moving around corners just as he was finishing frostbolt.

Oh, and if you see the red diagram under your feet, move out of the way.

You could probably solo this as a lower level shadow priest. The strength is in the strategy and execution.

start with a full rage bar from the adds, spell reflect and shield bash all his frostbolts. The dots on the floor can be easily avoided if you strafe.

Naberius seems to have 21-22k health (and 10k mana), his frostbolts hit around 500-600 and the Shadow Fissure (red rune under your feet) seems to hit static 1k shadow damage (900 in def stance with warrior). He also seems to have some sort of Frost Nova (Chill Nova hits you for 581) and melees for about 550.

And of course, keep out of the red 'u go die now' circles.

Easily solo'd as a 70 Fire mage. Just break the line of site occasionally on his frostbolts, keep nuking, and stay out of the red portals of shadowy death. Also keep frost Ward up for the frostbolts you can't avoid.

Those red portals can be EASY avoided ... just jump on sides. He will not move basicaly from hes position, but those red portals does not stay there for ages. Took me like 80 secs. Didnt use bubble.

Very easy as a resto druid; just ate the frostbolts, moved and healed when he cast the mini-AoE spell. I overdid the healing just to be safe, and still only needed innervate right at the end of the fight.

Rather nice quest reward.

Easily soloable as a L70 Mage. Pull his two buddies first (they come independently like stated above) Use Frostward when it's up, and lay into him with spells (I am a Fire Mage, so I scorched him to death after opening with a ToEP+AP+Pyro). He got me to 25% health, but I stepped into one of his red portals at the end.

Solo'd as a 69 feral druid, had to use a mana pot.
Killed the adds before engaging Naberius. Went in and started nuking. I did not use any out of line og sight tactic for this boss, I didnt even have my stamina/takning gear on, just my usual cat-dps gear. Frenzied regeneration saved me once, and I had to step out and heal 2 times. Used an innervate and a barkskin, so have cooldowns refreshed. I died right after he did as he managed to put out a circle underneath me just as I mangled him the last time. Double K.O, but I did it :)

Did it easily as a 69 shadow priest. Unlike the above, I didn't flat out nuke him down, rather, I DoT kited him - I ran circles around the church while casting SW:P, VT, and SW:D on him (if you do it at a corner, there's enough time to cast VT and still LoS his attacks). I didn't take a single point of damage the entire time.

Did it with me (68 hunter) and guildmate (70 lock + void). Void and pet held agro.. took out the adds and then full out dps on the Naberius. needless to say that damn blast he does that knocks out 1k hp a tick did do a bit a damage. Lock died and I was at 250hp as the Naberius died. Do-able as solo i'd agree. Just other people/classes are a lil smarter/better at doing it.

Be sure to stay out of his little AOE and he does a mind control on you apparently. All I did was spam chain heal...

Did it half an hour ago as a 70 UD Shadow Priest

LFG-ed for 1-2 mins, no candidates, so I decided to engage it alone. Used a Superior Wizard Oil on my staff and killed the 2 adds...these are not linked to the boss, confirmed.
At the 2. add, I used Shield, then DoTted the boss...after 2 Frostbolts, I was surprised to see that my shield was still intact :D Nuked the lich and he died quickly. I had like 7k of 9 at the end of the fight...

Absolutely no need to avoid Frostbolts :)

I've done it with a 69 Frost Mage. To be honest, it has been hard. Here is what I did :

1) Cleared the area outside the church
2) Casted "Ice Barrier" and waited 24 seconds (until the cooldown finishes)
3) Casted "Frost Ward"
4) Used my trinket and attacked him with "Frost Bolt"
5) Each time he was casting his red spell, I moved and then continued to frostbolt him.
6) Cast again, if necessary, Ice Barrier and Frost Ward

He died in 30 seconds, but I died about 2 times before trying to find a way to kill him easily.

Beware if you're close of the cliff in front of the church, I couldn't use "Blink". Maybe I didn't use it well, but I didn't try a second time.

He's immune to Counterspell, Frost Nova and Frost Bite. I assume he is also immune to Winter Chill, I don't have this talent.

I would suggest to be at least two for this quest, even if it's possible to solo it. A tank or a healer are always welcome !

Easy.
I started off with sending my pet in and putting down snake trap for the extra dps
I then backed & started dpsin with my trinket and orc racial skill and nuked him out
when naberius had around 7k left i popped another snake trap which luckely had cast slowing poison in it
I ended full hp & pet 1.2k left

Soloable by a 69 feral druid, but barely. The fight itself isn't too tricky - you can't cc or stun him in any way, but until he runs out of mana, most of his damage is special damage, not physical. So what I did was to open up in cat, get 5 combo points, and fire off a Ferocious Bite (being undead, he's immune to Rip, the bugger). By that time my health was kind of low, so I shifted out and rejuv-regrowth-lifebloomed myself (make sure to stay the hell out of the red light though - if he casts it on you as you're casting regrowth, don't finish the cast but move asap! the damage will be greater than what you heal anyway). After that, I simply went bear, enraged, and chugged away - had to switch out once more to heal, and use Frenzied Regen at the end, but I got him down. As above posters said, never stand still - dance around him to avoid getting killed by the red circles. Note though that even though the red circle eventually turns into a small, purple light thing, it still hurts the same. And yes, he can have more than one up at once, but he won't cast them right after one another, so right when he has cast one is a good time to heal.

Now, the real bitch with this fight, and what ended up killing me the first two times, is that the ghosts in the village have a -real- short respawn time. If you haven't killed both ghosts in his room immediately before engaging, they will respawn, and you will die. Don't run outside to try to corner pull him either unless you're alone in the area, since if any ghost outside has been killed by someone else a bit earlier, it'll respawn and aggro you. I had a real frustrating wipe at 2% because of this. The respawn time isn't necessarily short enough to bother straight dps classes, but in bear form your damage is kind of slow, so don't risk it.

Mages, Druids: DO NOT SUMMON YOUR PETS. He will "Enslave" you and you will nuke your pets, he will de-aggro (you drop combat) and regains all of his health. Then: BAM right back in combat no mana and he is healed.

I solo'ed him with a lvl 70 fire Arcane/Fire mage.. first clear the area around the church and the pull him around the church over and over if he wants to cast frostbolt. I started with a 5k pyroblast and fireball when the pyroblast was on its way, then instant pyroblast and fire blast after that.. i had him around 40% of its HP and i just walked around the church if he wanted to cast.. just use fireblast all the time and the job is done.

I just soloed it as a 70 hunter, 12/46/3. I pulled the left guard by himself, killed it, then trapped the right guard and sent pet after the boss. I kept the pet healed and stayed out of the red lights. I just kept the right guard trapped and then killed him when the boss down.

Simple, didn't even run out of mana.

As a prot warrior, he was super difficult. Spell Reflect has much too long of a cooldown for him, since he spams frostbolt, and he is immune to Shield Bash Silence. Try the LOS trick mentioned above. Keep him in the hallway/doorway, and jump back and forth between each side of the porch. Be sure to bring health pots, and maybe even try and get a guldie lock to give you a healthstone for it. You'll also end up blowing Last Stand and prolly shield wall also, even though it wont do much.

The placing of the chapel is just so retarded. I got him down to like 3% by using the LoS method, but then I lagged and fell off the edge of the world while going around a corner. But I got him in the end.

It's very easy for a Shaman.

Put down Earth Elemental Totem, let the Elemental tank Naberius.
I managed to take Naberius to 50% before I have to heal Elemental back to full.

You have to watch out the "red portal" that does 1000dmg per tick, and there are only max. 2. So it's very easy to avoide getting further dmg from it.

Another good thing is that, Naberius won't do any brust damage. Don't have to worry about Elemental dropped to 0% suddenly.

Solo'd this as 70 Ret pally.
Very easy. Considering i wasted time trying to LoS his frostbolts, in the end i just nuked him.
For a Ret pally:
1. Use Frost Resist Aura
2. Don't walk into the magic circles summoned on the floor (as stated earlier)
3. I used my avenging wrath and trinkit macro and just nuked him, i did this 30 seconds into fight and he droped like a fly. if you wan't to play it safe i suggest keeping the forbearance debuff for your sheild.
4. I would clear the area before the pull, i fought mostly in / at the doorstep of the chapel he was in, however adds to pass by so make sure you have eliminated them prior.

Was wondering how to do this as protection pally, so heres the easiest way i found.
clear the 2 adds first, the put frost rez aura and seal of light on yourself.
aggro boss and stay at distance he will just keep throwing endless icebolts at you, dont worry just keep spamming flish of light heals (getting the heal bonus from SoL) keep this up until he runs out of mana (after about 2 mins) you will have used about 3/4 of your mana pool.
when he's oom he will enter melee just change to dev aura or ret judge mana on him and put SoW on yourself to reple mana pool then switch to whichever damage causing seals you use and grind his health away.
he will regenerate a bit of mana but not much ...enough to occasionally cast a frostbolt or his aoe every so often but he will be dead long before they worry you.
If your an engineer throw a mana bomb at him at the start to reduce his manna by quite a bit.
i didnt have to use shield or lay on hands or any pots as level 70 prot pally but they are there if you need them.
I guess most pally prots know you down elites by slowly wearing them down not by going oom trying to cause burst dps on them, just use your seals for whatever you need, he wont be able to cause as much damage as you can comfortably heal.
This technique works very well for any mana dependant elite that casts from range, just let them go oom them wade in.
I'm sure there are probably easier ways to do this but it works for me.

70 Affliction Warlock (Solo): Just sent VW in, trinket, DoT, spam shadowbolt and reapply DoTs when needed. Move out of the AoE holes, and when you can try to use the building to get out of LoS and interrupt his casts. Deathcoil + HS for heals. Not too hard :)

At first I tried that "LoS"-thing, but found out, after two almost-deaths (Flight form really helps when falling off the edge), that that wasn't possible.

So... I cleared the churched and outside the entrance, I /cursed the Lich, shifted into kitten and snuck up. I dealt some swift blows, granting me five combo-points, gave him a Ferocious Bite, popped into Bear and spanked away. I had to jump in a circle every now and then 'cause he spawned those portals of his. Works like tanking the dragon in Ramparts, actually. Just move out of the "zone". Anyway, halfway through I was low on health, popped out of bear right after a frost-bot, chucked up a Regrowth, on with Barkskin and up with Healing Touch. After that, I had full health and a nice HoT. Back into bear and kill the thing. Easy tank'n'spank, really!

Summary: Kitten, 5 combo, Bam! Bear, spank, heal, spank, /dance.

Affliction warlock, soloed with imp out. Basically all warlocks can solo this, cept that afflics have more dots to throw and so killing becomes quicker. Drag him out, use LoS as much as poss, and then run around the chapel so he cant hit you. Demo mite do much much more damage with the felguard out, just turn the aggro off.

Okay I'm a little confused from some of the comments here. All the hunters and warlocks have used their pets, but someone said if a mage or druid uses a pet, he will mindcontrol the player, kill the pet, and evade/reset. Can someone confirm this? Does he only do it if the pet is an elemental or something? What about shaman pets? Also, he's apparently immune to stuns and disorients, but is the frostbolt interruptable by things like earth shock, kick, or counterspell?

One more tip: I soloed this as a frost mage, and saved my WE to take out a spirit who respawned in my path halfway through the fight. No mind control took place, and I was able to use the WE on Naberius once he was done with the spirit.

Complete cake as a 70 fire mage. Got an add with him and still nuked down no problem without CDs, gems, trinkets, or pots. You can dodge around the walls easy for the frostbolts, but they dont hit very hard.

It took me six tries but i did it as a level 70 frost spec Mage, the main thing to remember is that you run slower when his frostbolt hits you and makes it hard for you to outrun the AOE he uses, keep using Frost Ward and ducking out of the line of sight for the few second cool down and you'll be fine. I used two water elementals during the fight and had no mind control issues with either one - they were unfortunately sacrificed to the AOE attack. If your a mage it would be a good idea to cast Mage Armor and Dampen Magic it cuts down on the damage the frostbolts do to you, he never hit me with more than 250 DMG that i noticed.

Easily solo'ed by a Fire Mage. Cleared area of possible adds. You can pull the 2 mobs inside the building separately. Started off the fight with him using pyroblast and mainly fireballed my way through the fight. He constantly casts frostbolt so him and I basically had a fireball/frostbolt fight most of the time. I used Frost Ward once to help mitigate damage but like the other mage posted, his frostbolts don't hurt that much. Just needed to remember to jump out of his crazy damage void circles occasionally and that was basically it. Have a heal pot ready just in case you stay in his circles too long >_>

Soloed trivially as a 70 Shadow Priest. I just burned him down with a full rotation (minus SW:Death). VE healing was more than enough to keep up with his Frostbolting. I threw in max-rank Shields to mitigate pushback, but they weren't needed in terms of keeping my health up.

I didn't try Silence, because the Frostbolt was so easy to VE-heal through, and having him melee, even briefly, seemed unlikely to make things easier. I meant to try Shackle, but I forgot. If I think of it, I'll try it later.

A 70 Resto Shaman can easily solo Naberius. Here's how I did it:

Step 1: Like several others have mentioned, I cleared out the adds that are in the chapel with him. They didn't link with Naberius.

Step 2: Ate and drank to full hp and mana. Then I entered into the chapel and dropped a mana spring totem and a grounding totem. Then I cast a Lightning bolt on him. While he started casting his frostbolt, I dropped an earth elemental totem.

Step 3: After the grounding totem absorbed the frostbolt, I cast Earth Shield on the Elemental and then dropped a Wrath of Air totem (the one that gives you extra spell damage).

Step 4: From here on it was incredibly simple; the Earth Elemental was an excellent tank. Dropped a searing totem and just took him down. I took him down by throwing flame shock on him and then shooting lightning bolt after lightning bolt at him. Don't think I ever even needed to heal my elemental but make sure it doesn't die.

I believe at the end of the fight my elemental had more than 90% hp and I didn't lose any. For all those shaman who didn't know (not many of you, but their may be a few), the Earth Elemental you get at level 66 is excellent for "soloing" those 2-3 man group quests. Although I probably could have tanked him myself by throwing up Earth Shield on myself and then using melee, shocks, and fire totems to take him down, why do extra work when you don't have to?

Did him today with a partner who needed it as well, 70 lock (0/40/21) with a 69 hunter. He surprised both of us with this spell https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/spell=36145 which charmed me (increasing her size by 150%.. couldnt exit the chapel). I went to town on the hunter and ended up killing our pets as well before it wore off. We still won the fight via some 'round-the-chapel kiting but we were totally caught off-guard by this spell, which heretofore had never seen.

Straight up solo as a 70 shadow priest with mediocre gear. No special tricks, just my usual mob soloing pattern. Stay out of the red AoE and you're golden. Got my shadowfiend out at one point and had no MC/evade problems. Not even a close fight -- finished with 3/4 my hit points and half my mana.

70 holy pally solo. Tried to take on all 3 at once, and with the soulbind from the 2 mobs was more than I could handle with healing and DPS. 2nd try pulled mobs solo and then got boss with little difficulty. Stay outta the aura. If u see him cast move and you don't get the 1000 instant damage.

Soloed as a 70 Frost mage, with semi-decent gear, mostly blues. The boss is fairly easy, just follow the instructions by the previous posts, here's what I did...
Started off by clearing out the mobs, they can be individually pulled, and it helps to not have a couple other guys clawing at you and interrupting your casts. Next, cast a frostbolt against him immediately after that frostbolt, release a second one. After your second frostbolt is cast, move out of Naberius' line of sight. Then pop back in and cast a frostbolt, pop back out, and such. Don't be afraid to use your cooldowns, water elementals may be used for extra DPS against him, he will not mind control pets or anything.
P.S. Using Frost Ward, you can absorb one of his frostbolts, use it near the end to finish him off! I hope this helped. =)

Well, I (lvl 70 prot paladin) put on my spell damage gear (over 400 SD) and used the LOS trick and "kited" him around the church, exorcising him (~900 damage per) whenever the cooldown was up, dodging the shadow pits, eating the occasionaly frost bolt, and healing when necessary (had to use LoH and two super mana potions). It took a loooong time (the wandering mobs respawned and were also chasing me (3 or 4 of those ghosts) but all they really did was interrupt/delay my healing spells and irritate me).

As of 2.03.08 he is freezing and healing to full when you pull him and go out of LoS. He will come out of the church, but gets stuck on the steps and resets after a minute or so of your being out of LoS. :/

I was able to solo him as a 70 paladin, full healing gear. Just turn on frost resist aura, stay out of the "void zones", heal yourself and seal of righteousness/exorcise.

Gear doesn't really matter. If you don't have tier 4, you might need to use a mana pot.

Just adding this comment for those who skipped this quest and are coming back to do it. Definitely soloable from a healers point of view (especially since they gave healing a spell damage component)

I used Paryn strat., but I had some major bad luck.

First time, I got him to 20%ish, but his Chill Nova knocked me back and off of Netherstorm.
The second time, a mob spawned on me and killed me.
The third time, I got him to 12%, and aggro'd a mob. A mage stopped, killed Naberius, and killed the add that *just* killed me. But I got credit for the Naberius kill.
And in return, I helped the mage kill Naberius.

Tips (for mages):
Use Ice Armor and Frost Ward. A lot of times, I thought I was safe from his frost bolt, but I really wasn't.
HE CANNOT BE SCILENCED!
Do not get close to him, or he'll Chill Nova and knock you back.
Dampen Magic'll help you on this fight. Unless you have a healer.

How to solo as MM Hunter with 375 First Aid:

Have one Heavy Netherweave Bandage Ready (A good health pot would be better)

Send pet at him, dont let it establish aggro! While it runs over there cast Aimed Shot. Then Arcane Shot, then Vipers sting and Concussive shot. Two Steady Shots and arcane shots. Feign Death. Heal pet and bandage yourself. Wait for pet to have a good amount of aggro (Keep mend pet up) then spam your shots and he should be death.

WARNING: He will do some abilite that spawns something red at you. When you see this get away immeditaly. It gives 1000 dmg per second

Yes he is very soloable. I'm a hunter. My pet got almost full hp, me kinda half, I could have been more careful. I used the door to LoS him. Shoot until he almost release a frost bolt, get out his LoS, he stops casting, shoot again, he continues casting. And when he comes to melee me, I get inside the church, then repeat. Very easy. He summons nothing (in my case).

This quest was rather easy. (after the first time i died)
I noticed that.. You can't stun her at all, and even if you'r standing next to the "red portals" (lesser shadow fissures) you still take damage =\

At the end of the fight when she was about 10% health she used like a Mindcontrol thing on me.. When I looked at my combat logs it called it "volly" wtf?

Solo'd Naberius as 69 MM hunter just keep your pet up and take aggro like half way in the fight and let him damage you when you are at like 20-30% feign death and let ur pet take aggro... always have mend pet on.

Soloed incredibly easily as a 69 frost mage. Just run around the building he comes out of while Ice Lancing over and over. Every now and then, stop and hit Ice Barrier + Frost Ward and throw a frostbolt at him. Pop the elemental whenever you can for added DPS. Make sure you have mana gems conjured.

Simple, took around 2 minutes.

Soloed as a 68 shadow priest using Paryn's tactics. Beware of the shadowbolts that will hit you if you stand in the red circles. I was pretty much out of mana the last 50% of his HP but I continued DOTing him and he eventually died.

This guy was easy enough to solo as a 70 Balance Druid. Just pull his guard guys and then duck behind the wall each time he casts frostbolt. Very simple.

Absolute breeze as a resto shaman (in not that great gear). Cleared the trash, stuck on my healing gear, used spell damage buffs (blackened basilisk and, as I didn't intend to hit anything, superior wizard oil), and summoned my fire elemental.

Just popped an earth shield on that, and earth shocked Naberius as often as possible and it was all over in seconds. Probably didn't need to waste time swapping gear or buffing up to be honest.

Soloed this quest easily as a level 69 warlock.. just used Curse of Tounges and spammed shadowbolt. Didnt use to any potions, soulstone, healthstones or resummon felguard. Was at 76% hp and my pet 56% after i killed him. Very easy to solo as a warlock.

As a frost mage with Frost Warding, I just summoned my elemental, popped frost ward, popped Ice Barrier, and traded frostbolts back and forth with him.

It wasn't the most interesting fight but, in the end, I came out victorious! Just stand at the entrance way. He'll stand at his little nesting area in the church and spam frostbolt until he dies! :D

Very easy as a destruction lock. Just Curse of Tongues, watch the ground for the portals as mentioned above, and nuke him down. He got off one portal and maybe two frostbolts in the time it took me to kill him.

Do not even bother attempting this if you are a subtlety rogue. It's the only character I've been unable to solo this guy with. Also, do not engage him behind the church at any point because he can knock your character into the air and off the cliff.

Contrary to what Ibolo has stated this quest is soloable by a Sub rogue. As previously said, clear all the ghosts. For me it was a matter of poison application. I am a Sub specced rogue with secondary speccing in Combat for dual wield. I used applicable scroll buffs for armor, stamina, and agility as well as agility/spirit food buff from warp burgers.

Poison application may or may not be critical but on my main hand I applied instant poison and my off hand I applied deadly poison. I tried several other combinations and this is the one that I found to be best for this particular quest. Gear wise I am definitely not set up in PvE gear (hate raiding) and am wearing a full suit of S1 gear(yeah I know...sue me....only been playing a couple months).

Started this out pretty simple; stealth ( I did not use Shadowstep as I saved this in case it was needed to bounce out of one of the consumption spells which luckily I did not have to resort to) and merely stealthed up behind the mob, premed, ambush, hemo, ghostly strike. From here I used a combination of primarily hemo and shiv(of course with the deadly poison applied this was excellent in maintaing consitent damage on the mob) and evis when combo points capped. Once the initial evasion from ghostly dropped I hit evasion and popped a trinket and immediately started backing up a step or two at a time. Might have been lucky but the mob only cast 1 consumption spell which I backed out of and popped a heal potion. He cast a chill and forced me to CloS. From here I kited out of the church dropped down and applied a bandage til the mob followed. I popped an energy pot, or tea if ya wanna call it that. By the time the mob was actually outside he was down to about 4k in hits. Very easy to DPS down. I finished the fight with about half life.

It can be done as a Sub rogue. I would call it a combination of trial and error and blind luck but I finished it and that is what counts in my book. Sides, I really hate it when someone says a Sub can't do something...gets my dander up.

Well he's undead, so pretty much a cake-walk for Paladins ;)

Fresh lv70 pro-pally.

1/ Clear the interior adds but don't worry too much about clearing the surroundings.
I pulled them with AS which linked perfectly and drew in the closest outside mobs too (always easier just to grab everyone at once and AoE grind 'em).

2/ Run into the chapel and own Naberius.
Used frost aura and cycled Consecration, HS, JoV and Exorcism.
Basically stuck toe-to-toe 'til he dropped, switching sides as he dropped the Shadow dmg AoE.
Used LoH and a mana pot but finished comfortably.

Pretty easy i would recommend attempting to solo before you even try to look for a group, although this is coming from a BM hunter. pet was down to half hp and i was down to around 75%.

As a 70 shaman, I had him down to about 5k health when several adds respawned, I popped a mana potion, healed myself and my elemental a bit, and continued to beat on him. I then had him at 2k health when he chained me and took control. Suddenly, I was following him back into the church with both of us at full health. I don't fully understand what happened, just that I had to do it again.

Solo'ed at the 2nd try as a survivalist hunter. The fissures took me by surprise on the first attempt! As others have said, clear all the adds one by one before fighting him and then for me it was just dps and a heal pot.

Pretty easy as a 70 Affliction Lock. Get the spirits in the Church Yard, then pull the three from the chapel. You will need to get pretty close to target the one inside on the right, but it can be done without aggroing Naberius. Felpuppy works great on him; Corruption, Curse of Agony, Siphon Life, Unstable Affliction, then Drain Life repeatedly. My health never went below 96%. Piece of cake.

Did this as a Prot Paladin, also. Don't pull, just wade in there and take out the three spirits, all at the same time. Again, Naberius is pretty easy; just keep running around and avoid his AoE. Exorcise!

I can see that this quest would be quite easy for a Mage, and it was. So simple. His Frostbolts hit for about 500-600, that's nothing. I never really discovered what the Shadow Fissure spell did because i've seen this spell before (in Shattered Halls, first boss) so i knew i had to move out of it quickly.

I just shot at him from outside the Church and when he was about to finish casting his Frostbolt, i'd hop out of his Line of Sight so it wouldn't cast. Repeated this through the fight and about 1 minute later he was dead. Quite simple, you don't even have to use that LoS trick as he hits so weak anyway.

Decent rewards, finally upgraded my Robe from The Underbog (from Black Stalker) although i will be keeping both robes for value :)

This guy is a joke XD Soloed as a 70 fire mage. Just clear the ghost adds around his church and use los to stop him casting at you. Step out of shadow fissures and you shouldn't take any damage during the fight.

As a 70 fire mage i puled the 2 one by one and killed them, then i had a nuke nuke contest with the elite where i won with half hp left if not more so anyone should be able to solo this.

Did this on 3/7/08 as a 70 elemental shaman.

Pulled the two adds from inside the church and killed them.

Pulled the lich, no adds spawn.

I had down my +70 frost resist totem and the frostbolts hit for about 600.

He spawns circles that when stood in tick for 1000dmg every two second, just move out of them.

He has about 27k HP.

His fissure spell doesnt require him to be in line of sight, though his frostbolts do.

Quite easy if you know that, but it killed me the first time because I was way out of his LoS and he caught me with a fissure.

Was easy, had Mage armor and Damp magic buffed. Put up Frostward and Ice Barrier, then waited 15 seconds for the Frostward CD to go down a bit. Summoned WE, but it bugged out and went retarded. Opened up with Fireball, then Frostbolts and Fireblasts the whole way. Make sure you put up Frostward and Ice Barr whenever you have the chance.

Even as a holy priest i soloed this quest extremely easily... I hadn't even noticed fort and spirit wore off before the fight either, haha. Just keep a dot on him and smite, smite, smite, mind blast, smite, smite smite and be sure to use your shadowfiend.

Soloed him and I am a Dis/Holy priest. Put my dmg set on, kept my Shadow Guard, Shadow Protection and Shield on at all times! Used Soul Fiend and Fel Blossom. Naberius cast a nasty Shadow Fissure COnsumption spell which I ran out of asap each time he cast it. This was they key to me surviving the fight.

The first attempt I failed because I had my healing gear on and was learning the fight. GL!

I have just died for the second (edit third) time trying to run out of that wheel of fire thing he casts, and this is not so easy.

If he lands a frostbolt on you, he immediately does the wheel of fire thing, and by the time you have ambled out of it, you've taken 3-4k hits. for a mage that's goodnight nurse pretty quickly.

I think I'll be waiting for a group.

Solo'd as an enh shaman. Run around him in a circle and keep dropping grounding for the frostbolts. Popped bloodlust for a quick kill, didn't even have to heal.

70 Demonology Warlock

Used Void Walker for the higher health and threat management. Did the DoTs while I kept moving and let the VW keep the melee damage going. Drained Life when he was at 5k - dead guy - no prob. =)

All you got to do is pull the two tormented spirits out of the chapel, they will come individually and will not aggro Naberius. After the two spirits are gone it is a pretty easy attack, stay out of the circle he casts. If you are a warlock, best thing to do is get your felhunter to spell lock him when he starts casting his frostbolts at him. Don't silence his AOE attack because it is easily is avoided. BTW soloed this as a 68 Warlock.

He is immune to the Felhunter's spell-lock now. Probably after some patch.
Nevertheless, I just kept up dots and made him chase me around the church LOSing him around every corner.
He's immune to Curse of Tongues also.

Solo my butt. He does 750dps and that's w/ +70 shadow protection.

Ok, it's the adds that killed me..Once you get him down a ways he sends 2 ghosts at you and those things do a good bit of damage by themselves.

On my second run, a mage took the ads off me and it wasn't a problem to solo just Naberius.

69 Holy Pally - as many people have said here, this guy is soloable. The trick is avoiding the shadow fissure at ALL costs - at least once a second (perhaps more), pass through it - or even jump over it - does a minimum of 1000 shadow damage. The first time I tried this guy, he cast the spell and I was literally down in just a couple of seconds (I had about 6800HP).

The shadow fissure spell is instant cast so it doesn't appear on his cast bar - but it does telegraph. When he casts it, a giant 3-d red circle surrounds the spot where he's casting it. You have a second or two to get out of the way before the fissure actually opens.

He seems to attack in a pattern that goes frostbolt, frostbolt, shadow fissure for most of the attack. The trick is, the previous shadow fissure does NOT close before he casts the next one - the two overlap for a few seconds. So when you move to avoid the new shadow fissure, don't move toward the old one thinking it's going away, pick a new spot for the moment.

Other than the shadow fissure, he does very little damage. He casts frostbolt a lot, so with a little frost resist you're in good shape. This guy reminds me a lot of Araj (the 61 elite in Andorhal in WPL) in the sense that he seems to be a clothie and although he's buffed up, doesn't take a whole lot of damage to take down.

definately soloable w/ a 70 shaman

theres ghosts in the church so lure them out one by one and kill them first or they'll add.

lure the boss out with a lightning bolt. call an elemental and drop a grounding totem. send lightning bolts at him and earth shock him every time he starts casting. replace your grounding totem when he manages to get spells off. heal yourself and your elemental as needed. he does an AEO spell that kills you if you dont move so as soon as you see a dark circle around you move out of it. not too difficult, should be able to do it without using pots.

Run around the chapel and keep moonfire and insect swarm up on him. Wrathing is optional... I didn't even have to innervate he's so easy.

Solo'd as a 69 BM hunter, took a few attempts to figure him out. The add's in the chapel can be single pulled for better ease. When fighting him, he cast's a mean shadow fissure spell. It has an area of effect that slow's your movement, and does 1000 damage per tic while you stand in it. It doesn't have a very large area of effect but it -will- kill you in a hurry if you don't move out of it.

Killed with 70 demo warlock, I just sacrificed my felguard for +damage and regeneration and opened with soul fire. Everytime he tried tossing frostbolts, just run out of sight. Circle around the house if you need too, a half run around the house was sufficient to me.

Mage Method:

Easy... Run round the chapel, so she cant cast. Hitting it with fireblast every chance you get. If you're frost, get aggro, bring out the pet, and then run round the building, piece of cake.

Send in vw, let it gain some aggro, apply idots. Pop when it's low, keep up the dots. Run slightly outside the church so it follows you, then drain-life until dead (d/c if you need some instant hp). No pots/ running needed.

Soloed him with 70 lvl Ret Paladin (ver. 3.4.0).

1. Killed the mobs - not only those two inside the chapel, but also those wandering nearby.
2. Used Ret Aura, Seal of Vengeance, and Blessing of Might.
3. Defeated him with combination of Consecration, Exorcism, Divine Storm, and Crusader Strike.
4. Super Important: his AoE Shadow attack will kill you in a few seconds if you stay in the circle, so you'll need to change position from time to time during the fight.

And I actually forgot to switch to Libram of Wracking before the fight, which would make this even easier. : )

Archmage Vargoth saw the danger in Naberius's pursuit of necromancy, but I don't think he ever anticipated that his own apprentice would wreak this much destruction upon the Kirin Tor.

You must defeat him, <name>, or else he will continue enslaving the spirits of our fallen brothers, robbing them of their rightful rest and destroying what little remains of Kirin'Var.

With his phylactery in hand, he can be confronted by two or three combatants, but who knows what his magic might do to more foes?
