Might want to bring a friend and clear the entire room before destroying the console. Mobs spawn and anything left alive in the room aggroed me....Too many for a prot warrior to take with 15sec to spare

Pretty easy... just make sure you clear the room of everyone first, you don't have to worry about the wings just the main room. Then click on the control console and wait. You have 2 minutes to wait. After about 1 minute some low health technicians start coming in trying to abort it. Drop them as they never came more than one at a time for me.

Easy to solo.

Easy kill, he's pretty much alone, he disarms, and for casters reduces damage done by 75%, but it's only 5 seconds, have fun!
He has about 6000 health :)

When the mobs spawn to try and shut down, you can sap them. Any sapped mobs will despawn when shutdown is complete

Everything is correct as far as killing everything in the room and the low lvl techs....but I found him in the hallway @ 24.70 inside the building.

all the shutdown quests are easy soloable by a rogue, cause the mobs don't try again to stop the shutdown after an interruption, so sap as hell and don't break stealth except for mobs u can't sap as the elite in the final q.

I followed these instructions, initiated the process about 5 times, killed about 15 NPC's, process kept getting interrupted then I quit. I don't understand how to keep the mobs from interrupting the process, they spawn, I kill them but the process has been stopped, so I start again and the same thing happens, very frustrating.

All these shutdown quests are soloabe. I'm a 70 Protection Paladin and i did the shutdown quest the first time i kept killing the NPC's one at a time as they kept running in to stop and restart the sequence and it kept going on and on. I would initiate stop and fight them as they run in and another NPC would sneak in the other side and restart the process.

The easiest way i found to do this IF your a Melee Fighter was. Get full health and start shutdown. As the NPC's keep running in all you have to do is just play defence defending the controol while its in the 2 min shutdown. Don't try to kill and the NPC if you dont have to. JUst aggro tag them on hit and keep moving around to tag all the NPC's as they run in, but keep an eye out to see the NPC's as they run in and tag all of them. They all will be fighting you and thats what you want, them fighting you and not trying to restart the sequence. So just keep them occupied long enough for the 2 min sequence to finish. When its at Zero you will hear it and see it in your text log, then you can kill off the NPC's if most not alreasy dead. Easiest way as a Melee fighter i did all these shutdown quest and all in one rolling fight. Hope it helps some one else.

This quest appears to be bugged, I've shutted it down 4 times now, and i havent gotten a "complete" message.

EDIT: My bad, seems as the problem was the fact that i was i a raid-group.

The overseer can be nailed at 23,70 (inside the building in the southern alcove). The control console that you use the crystal at is at 23,68. Clear the mobs to either side of the console before using the crystal (as well as one or two behind). After you start the shutdown, 4 sunfury technicians will come out one at a time and they will fire a beam at the console to cancel the shutdown. Kill them (easy) and the shutdown will complete. You may get other mobs, by the way.

If you fail to shutdown the system, you can start again without having to regain the crystal.

This was one of the easiest quests I have done in Netherstorm. I flew in on my flying mount, stuck to the walls and went around clockwise to the overseer (he is in the western alcove), got the crystal after killing 2 mobs before him, then went around clockwise taking out the mobs in the middle and on the wall. Activated the crystal and got a snooze fest. 4 easy to kill mobs. I don't see why people are complaining so much about this quest. If anything it is easy gold =/.

I guess I owe the previous posters an apology. Went back one more time; when the Engineer materialized aside of me (again) I just swiped (her) once and sicced the pet on her, then stepped aside and started shooting techs as they came out (as suggested). My mistakes on previous tries were apparently (1) over-reaction - just stand your ground, if you go too far off base you will aggro any re-spawns; and (2) expectation - I thought the console would actually do something - sound or look different, anything - but it just sits there humming along. If I hadn't noticed the "quest complete" tracker, I'd still be there. It did take me one Super Health pot, but it is, indeed, doable.

The overseer is inside the building inside one of the alcove's,burn him down and get the crystal.
You want to kill everything around the console because once you activate the shutdown procedure,what you haven't killed will attack you.
Take's 2 minute's to shutdown in which time warp engineer's will come in and try to stop the shutdown,they die very easy though,at least for a lvl68 frost mage.
just continued to burn them down and went invisible and walked out,Yes we get invisibilty at 68,OOORAAAH!

Зачищаем всё внутри здания и заодно в корридоре валим OVERSEER THEREDIS 23.70 с которого(которой) падает нужный нам кристал. Юзаем его в центре здания и ждём 2 минуты. Будут бежать несколько техников и их надо, соответственно, немного убить.

This is the Scryr side of this quest as there are 2 depending on faction. Both are identical as far as I know, just the rep is added / deducted, depending on whose faction your on.

Very little information here as to whether or not (and/or for which classes) this is soloable. I'm guessing if it's a two minute shut down and you have to wait for the whole two minutes (?), it could get awfully tricky with respawns and everything. LET'S WORK TO BE MORE INFORMATIVE HERE GUYS. :)

Stand facing the control console and look to the entrances to your left and right. Weaker than normal warp engineers will come running out of them periodically to stop the shut down sequence. Just attack them as they come and keep them from doing their work on the control console. If they get to shoot their red lighting-thing into the control console it will reset it and you must start it up again.

I agree with the other post, this must have been changed. Overseer is a piece of cake, but the rest is much harder than 2/3 of the ones Blizz calls "group"! I did just as everyone says: cleared the entire room and hit the shutdown; one technician runs up, I send pet and begin shooting, immediately a warp engineer appears right aside of me. While fighting him/her, pet finishes off first tech, another one runs up, another engineer pops in from the other direction and then still another appears from out of nowhere. Two on one now, feign death to start shooting again, while they finish off my pet yet another one appears and jumps me again. I've tried it with both pets, a lvl 69 owl and a lvl 70 cat. Six times now. "Just attack them as they come", no F@#&^%$* way!

Despite what it seems, this is not very difficult (Even as a class less suited for soloing).

Before you run in, guns a-blazing, clear out the nearby mobs. You don't even need to clear them all - just the ones nearby the console. Now, once that's done, quickly activate the shutdown.

The 2-minute timer will begin. If the mobs are gone, you'll be safe for a while. Now, run back to the wall, and wait. One by one, Technicians will run out from the door on the far side, run to the console, and try to cancel the shutdown (As seen by a blue beam going from them into the console)

Kill the Technicians as soon as they get close enough; as soon as you get any amount of threat on them, they will stop trying to stop the shutdown, and go onto you. Then just kill them, which is easy enough, and get back to the wall before the next one comes out.

As far as I know, the Technicians won't even pull additional mobs. I had one mob respawn, and the Technician ran right past it without pulling it onto me. You'll easily be able to heal/mana at least a good chunk during the gaps between mobs.

Easier than expected.

Once you use the console, a two-minute timer will start. If this timer reaches its end, you get progress and complete the quest. However, Technicians will spawn and begin a channel to stop the timer. About four will spawn over the course of the two minutes - it can be difficult to kill them safely depending on your level and class. Clearing out the room first is recommended.

A useful strategy for rogues is to stay in stealth - sapping the technicians will stop the channel, and they won't restart when the CC breaks. This is how I managed to complete the quest solo; I don't think I would have been able to complete the quest clearing out the room and fighting the mobs as they spawned in.

To shut down the forge you click on the crystal in the room. Not the crystal in your inventory! Took me a few minutes to figure this out...

Shutting Down Manaforge B'naar

Return to Manaforge B'naar and obtain the B'naar Access Crystal from Overseer Theredis. Use it at the B'naar Control Console to shut it down, then report back to Spymaster Thalodien.

Performing quests for the Scryers will cause your Aldor reputation level to decrease.

I was having a friendly discussion with the Aldor while you were gone. Manaforges sure look like modified naaru technology from Tempest Keep. Apparently, most naaru constructs have certain safeguards that allow them to be permanently disabled in case of emergency.

The procedure is usually initiated at a control console via an access crystal. Lo and behold, according to the roster you secured, such a crystal is in the possession of a fellow called Overseer Theredis. Obtain it and see what you can do.
