For those who do not have Coordinates, the location is on the north side of the big "red glowing bug thing" you'll find a green circle. The "red glowing bug thing" is due west of the Temple of Telhamat

Clear the area of the 63 elite Colossi first,so you don't have any unwanted adds.

Plant the seed in the summoning circle, and go take a piss because it's a 40 second summon... so make your grilled cheese sandwiches and get back to your computer for the boss.

I took him down at level 61 as a Warlock with the help of a 62 shadow priest. Fairly easy fight.

At 50% HP he will spawn three minions that attack whoever has aggro. Take the boss down first so you finish your quest and poof done.

Turn it in at the Cenarion outpost and be prepared to fight one more Colossi that is summoned there for your next quest.

Heh.. just barely solo'd it as a level 62 (tier 2-geared) frost mage.

Completely soloable as a hunter, of any gear. Mana potions will help, as will a faster speed bow. Start the encounter with AotP/AotC, tap him once or twice with with auto/arcane then make a beeline for the road. Have your pet on him so he won't de-aggro.

Once you're on the road, use the standard jump/shoot or if you have a fast bow, you can turn around and snap off a shot, then start running again. It'll take a little while, but it's not hard and it's more boring than challenging.

If you can navigate your way around the other wandering mobs, he is kitable using Cheeta as a hunter. Not easy, but if you can do the Rhok kites, you can do this easily.

Done as lvl 70 hunter, who skipped HP because it was too crowded at release, and now needs the rep =P

Soloed this as a 61 affliction lock.

Pulled out my void and he tanked it till about 80%, then I pulled aggro, so I turned and ran towards the Temple of Telhamat.

Immune to curse of exhaustion and fear, he ran faster than me, but kept knocking me forward further and further so could never actually kill me. I just kept him dotted, turned around and wanded every now and then so he didnt de-aggro and it was quite easy. :)

Easily soloed as a poorly equipped feral druid (think 30% healing gear...). I tanked him right next to the crystal to avoid adds and just bashed when I needed to heal.

I was having trouble completing this quest as a 62 Aff/destro Warlock. I kept attracting the attention of surrounding giants. I had begun offering 20g to anyone level 63+ to come help me via General, but no one seemed interested. Finally, I gave it one more try. Soulstoned, with a healthstone, and using an imp (was shardless after SS'ing myself), I managed to summon without aggro. And as soon as the boss appeared, two 70 Alliance, a dwarf and a night elf, appeared and began helping me. Thanks to them it took only about 30 seconds to take down the boss.

Soloed this as a 63 BM hunter. Clear Mobs one by one and then take a mana break and wait for cooldown to finish. Summon Goiliath and let your pet tank, make sure always your pet has Mend Pet and place an ice trap in front of you hold off one of the Shardlings. Use Rapid Fire, Bestial Wrath and if you have Bladefists breadth that too and nuke him down. If you want to get rid of the shardlings either kill them yourself or Feign Death let you pet die and wait for them to disappear.
P.S : Make sure your pet is always happy and proud for max DPS (did this with a cat with 124 dps and 1.28s Attack speed when on frenzy)

Note that it's no longer possible (as of 2.0.10) to kite Goliathon to the guards. In fact, it's not possible to pull him more than a few dozen yards away from the stone without him evading.

On the plus side, he's level 63 now, not level 64.

Soloed as a Level 61 Gnome Rogue. I used Cheapshot...then when i had 3 combo points hit him with a Kidney shot...then right b4 it ended i jumped into the pit. Then when he ran after me i hit him with 2 SS then used SnD comboed with a Blade Flurry for 50% attack speed. Then I just kept hitting him with SS and kidney shotting when i was at 5 pts if that failed id hit him with Evicerate. When he summoned his Adds I popped Adrenaline Rush comboed with Evasion. Then the next time he flew me 15 feet i healed myself with a bandage till he hit me again...by that time he was almost dead :) Don't try this without at least 6k hp and 400agi thats what i got. No need to kill the guys around him if you jump into the pit b4 they walk around...hope this helps 4 rogues.

The 3 adds spawn just like regular giants, every 20-30% or so.

Also, he's immune to Fear.

Solo'd this as a 63 Feral Druid. 7686 Health in Bear Form.

Start in bear form, if you can time your HoTs so you can get them on beforehand, do so, but otherwise get in Bear as soon as possible. When the event starts pull the colossal into the hole with you and place your back against the big red crystal. Keep Demoralizing Roar up at all times, and of course Faerie Fire(Feral) makes this easier as well. Keep your Charm of Alacrity on cooldown.

When you are just fighting the colossal, just keep Mauling, using Mangle when it's up.

When he summons his friends, use Demoralizing Roar and just keep Swiping repeatedly. This gives you the bonus Rage from critting on more than one mob, as well as gives you more chances to crit to proc your Improved Leader of the Pack.

When you are first down to about half health, pop your Enrage+Frenzied Regen and just auto-hit for it's duration. When he starts knocking your health down other times, you're going to have to carefully time your Bashes, pop out, Barkskin and heal up as fast as possible. If he becomes unstunned his knockback will interrupt your casting.

I killed him with 90 health left, and died to his leftover minions. However, it was my first attempt doing it, went a little messier than I had planned. If I could do it again I imagine I'd live all the way through it.

Now this was hard. My warlock used the hole tactic agaisnt it, Felguard was tanking at the start but i quickly pulled aggro for some reason. So around the crystals we ran (at the hole), few times Goliath managed to knockback me around and i even pulled an add briefly which went away.. thank god.

FG got splattered near 10% . Fel Domination + New FG. instant intercept basically saved my arse, somehow it caught enough aggro so i was able to reapply my dots. As far as the shardlings go, i'm not sure what happened with the 2nd one but 1st & 3rd were killed as they spawned.

Stuff used: 10 Soul Shards, 3 potions, 2 health stones, 3 deaths, 2 despawns, 1 Soul Stone :P.

I did this with a rogue and a paladin, that is, I was horde, they were alliance. Still it worked, we had no problem, as the rogue was tanking, the paladin healing and dpsing a bit and I was nuking :D

Soloable as a 62 Holy paladin. Adds are summoned every 25% so if you stun, or otherwise CC about 2% before he summons and fire off a quick round of burst damage the shardlings never even spawn.

The path to get to the circle is so annoying,me (61 hunter) was difficult to get to the circle cos of all the 63 elite mobs.So i had to aggro on my mount then when i got my back to the big red crystal they all came so i fiegned death they all went away,then i killed about 2-3 mobs then summoned the boss he was bit easy but make sure u have your back to the red crystal he kicks u a long way but i won with 3400hp left (i have 5k hp) but my pet died cos adds came.I would suggest 2 more players to do this

Not really doable solo as a frost mage. Was immune to slowdowns and Frost Nova, and hits way too hard. That and his short chain make it nigh-impossible.

Just finished this earlier to today with myself (61 Balance Spec) and a Mage (60 something Frost Mage).

*You get this quest from a crimson shard that drops from one of the regular 63(?) elite giants*

Firstly clear you'r way to the Summoning Circle at 13,39, its fairly easy to spot( A green pattern on the ground)
Be sure to clear the enemies around here as the enemy you fight likes to push you back into the air and it can cause other giants to attack you which makes the situation a little more.. difficult.

Anyway, use the seed you are given at the green circle, this casting process takes a while as some hologram guy (Pathaleon) pops up and starts blabbin' away. After he's finished the fight begins!

The giant you fight is a 64 elite and he appears to your right, if you'r facing the big red crystal in the centre, so be ready!
He seems immune to Entangling Roots and Frost Nova, so what worked for us was to position our selves on either side of him and keep him running back and forth as one of us pulled him. He will break down into smaller versions of himself as he loses health so you might want to root these and finish them off after you defeat the main opponent which is what worked fine for us.

*You may want to try pulling him down into the depression around the crystal itself to prevent the knockbacks however this does limit you in your mobility, probably worth a shot if you've got someone to tank him.* ~ Edit

Here's a new twist. Since they made the change and he starts evading after a certain distance, it's possible that you will have to fight 2 of them. I started the fight, was knocked back out of his range, he evaded and disappeared so I had to restart the seed. When he appeared for the second attempt, the first came back so I had to fight both lvl 63 elite's. Watch the range is all I can say.

Soloed this with a 62 Prot Paladin with roughly 7.5k health and 8.2k armor. Holy shield, Blessing of Kings, judgement/seal of Light on him at all times and Hammer of Justice at 25/50/75% to stop him from dropping adds.

Seeing as I accidentally aggroed a raging colossus right as he appeared and I didn't actually start fighting him until at around 60% health (after ditching the other colossus), I'd have to say that he wasn't *too hard*, despite the fact I had to pop Lay on Hands and trinkets. Blessing of Light goes a long way towards keeping the health up, so it's just a matter of preventing him from spawning the adds. It took me probably about 3-4 minutes, mainly due to my entire DPS originating from white hits on https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=24384 and reflective Holy Shield/Retribution Aura.

I tanked him down in the crater with my back to the crystal, so his knockbacks didn't do much to me.

Did this today with me (61 rogue) and a 63 hunter. We didn't use the guards, it was complete luck. :p

Hunter summons him, we jump into the hole right next to us, because he knocks you back.... a lot. We're doing pretty good, then the hunter and the pet dies, so I pop evasion. At this point I only had about 2% health left, and somehow I managed to not get hit at all for 15 seconds, and take the rest of his life down, and just as I land the final blow he kills me. It was glorious. Quest Completed, and I now have a very nice pair of boots. :D

Solo'd - 63 Undead Affliction Warlock

Wasn't too difficult, just keep a good eye on your health. When he spawn I put my Voidwalker on him as usual. Unstable Afflic, Siphon Life, Corruption, Curse of Agony, Immolate. I tossed a Shadowbolt at him which pulled aggro to me. I then just began running in circles (in the hole) around the crystal. He is still pretty quick (perhaps Curse of Exhaustion would have been nice to throw in there to make a getaway), but the fact he's grinding up against that crystal will keep him a decent distance from you most of the time.

Used a healthstone and a healing potion. Could have gone smoother, but I wasn't sure what to expect.

You must kill the 64 elite spawn to complete the quest. I tried without killing him and it didn't work. I, too, didn't pick this up until 70. Solo'd as a balance druid...root, treants, hopped down into the hole and threw wrath and moonfire like crazy. Had to use a nightmare seed and a health pot, though.

As most said, you need to get to a green glowing ritual-circle-like thingy wich is to the north of the biggest red crystal (13,39)... and i can confirm it can be soloed as a lvl 61 hunter, because the giants have a small aggro range i didnt even need to clear my way to the draenei temple. GL Fellas!

Completed with ease on my 61 hunter with a 62 druid for company. Don't think the druid even had to heal, if he did it was minimal. No kiting, no fancy moves, and with just a little bit of clearing of the other (much harder) mobs in the vicinity.

What made it sweeter was that an Alliance group had just completed it using 5 members, all over 62 with a couple that were 64. Overkill when it really wasn't necessary :-)

The location, 13,39 is way back behind the big crystal and you can easily get to it by skirting the mountains. There are indeed lots of wandering Colossi but if you're patient, the ring will open up for you to get to it. Once there, stay close and wanderers will not get to you. I did it this morning as a 66 feral druid with a skillful lvl 62 hunter's help. Probably I could have done it myself in dire bear form, but with the stun capability of the 64 Elite that spawns, it might not have worked.

Kiting the 64 to the Temple as someone else suggested might have worked but with all of the wanderers not to speak of the buzzards, I don't really think I could have done that.

Side note: you get this quest thru an item that drops off one of the other Colossi. It's not sharable.

the suggested amount of players according to the quest log is two but that's ridiculous. It's not that the 64 elite that spawns is overly difficult to kill, it's the other mobs in the area that spawn rather quickly that are the problem. Attempted this with 2 61 Hunters and a 61 Priest and wiped twice because another of the elites in the area would spawn mid fight and cuase havoc. If they died like normal mobs it wouldn't be so much trouble but as you kill them they "splinter" into 63 non-elites x3. Attempts at CCing them with freeze traps proved unreliable as they break the traps rather quickly. The is more like a 4 or 5 man depending on group structure. Bringing a mage is highly recommended for frost nova to keep them all in place while you dps them down.

62, 61 BM hunters just completed it.

For two hunters... clear the area. Get to range, drop freeze traps.

Start event, have your pets build aggro for ~10 seconds, keep scorpid on mob, and mend pet on pet.

After 10 seconds, go full burn, DPS the hell out of him. When adds pop, multi shot them and let 'em come to your trap.

He should be dead before traps die..

Remember to FD the moment he looks away from the pet ;)

easy solo as 64 BM hunter. just mount up and ride to the circle (13,39) avoiding the giants on the way, they have small aggro range, shouldnt be a problem.
once there wait on the closest giant to path away from the circle, once he does click the seed to start channeling.
the instant the channeling is done drop down in the hole with the big red crystal. you wont be able to see much with the giant roots around the crystal so just make sure your pet is on defensive and wait on the boss to hit you, your pet will take it from there.
after the pet gets off two growls put mend on the pet and recast it as it wears off. you can open up full dps and just use intimidation or FD when you draw aggro. be sure to drop a freeze trap at the start of dps to freeze one of the little guys when they spawn. was alot easier then the regular giants.

Did this last night; we were 5. We had no problems with the mobs, but we all had to use our seed several times before the ghost dude announced that it was time for Goliathon to fight us. After that, it was easy. But yes, we had to beam the seed several times in a row (we did it with several people).

61 elementalist finished this quest solo.
Just kite him back to the temple and go as far in as you can to draw as many guards as possible.

Always hit him or he'll go back. Let him hit you once in a while. It just pushes you further. Make sure you have mana shield / ice barrier up and it's MUST-have: ice shield. This is in the case you can't avoid the giants that stand in your way so they get chilled after they first hit you and can't catch up.

One last thing: you will never loose aggro to the guards! I used Ice Block and for 10 seconds he fought the guards. After the 10 seconds he came back for me even though i didn't cast anything. Cold Snap + Ice Block again just gave the guards time to kill him.

Ok, a bunch of people talk about being able to solo this. Well, I don't think it's possible.

First of all, kiting this beast all the way to the temple will be a challenge.

Second, good luck trying to get him through all of those Raging Colossus mobs, which are also 62 and 63 elites, and there are tons of them.

I went in with a 63 Warrior, and a 62 Priest, and me as a 62 Lock. I found that if works best if your tank gets down in the hole because he will knock you back and it's gonna suck if he makes you agro one of the dozens of Raging Colossuses. Atleast if your tank is down in the hole they'll just get knocked into the wall.

All in all, it wasn't too tough and the reward deffinately makes it worth it.

Did solo w/ my 64 hunter.. I cleared three giants that I knew were gonna be in the way and kited him back to temple shooting him 5 times on the way to hold aggro. My cat died- I almost died but guards helped whoop up on him.. He is fast, but so am I and also used traps & concussive shot. gl

Easily solo'd as a lvl63 Naxx geared Hunter. Would recommend bringing a group if you aren't as geared as I was and if you aren't a pet class.

Natural Remedies

It must be that the evil emanations from that giant crystal are summoning the mountain giants and driving them insane.

It's too big to move, and beyond our ability to destroy, but I know a way to quell its power.

I've summoned a circle at the northwest corner of the crystal on the ridge. Take this seed to the circle and channel its powers to heal the land through the natural forces of rain, growth and insect repopulation.

Beware, <name>, I sense an external force at play here... this is not natural!
