Takes place north of Thrallmar.
The key loots from Arix'Amal (53,26) and has to be used on the Burning Legion Gate (53,28).
He doesn't hurt that hard but he strikes pretty fast.

The gate is a little hard to see- you actually have to stand inside the big portal thing to be able to see/activate it once you have the key.

Arix'Amal isn't that hard at all, so long as you don't aggro anything else or too much else with him.

The area has a high respawn rate and many, many enemies so the whole area has a high aggro rate.

Arix had a very fast respawn time (like 1 min or less) when I had the place to myself, so be careful. Other mobs had pretty fast respawn too.

No one has said anything about the little path right above Thrallmar that will lead you right to a large group of guys that you can kill for the first parts of this quest. Its kinda hard to find but saves a lot on the trip.

He didnt drop the key first time, but he respawns really fast. Second time he dropped it.

Has a VERY fast re-spawn which means less than 30 seconds
Make sure to get away from the boss as soon as you kill and loot him

also theres a pat who stands next to him for a while and then walks away just wait a little and he'll walk away by himself

Soloed 60 Lock...Easy. Bring your voidy. Kill everything around one by one...or two by two. Go round back of boss. Pull him, kill him. Sac voidy...go to south side of portal and use the key. Run like hell.

going to back worked for me. repop is ridiculous, killed the boss, stopped to drink/heal and they all were back on top of me, boss included, so I would recommend getting into the portal asap upon drop.

current screenshot is wrong, I think that is Forge Camp, which you need to pass on the west side and continue up the hill

outland was crowded right when the expansion came out, so they made everything crowded with mobs with high respawn rates. IMO, they should lower the respawn rates, and make it less crowded. some areas are really annoying to do quests in if you are the only one there now.

One note on Arix'Amal, it may have been a bug but it seems like he kept disengaging somehow so i suggest strike fast and furious to keep him in battle

I just want to add the the respawn rate is in fact, insane. I'm not killing things terribly fast but I do OK. In some instances I was pulling mobs back into mobs that I'd already killed only a minute or so earlier.

Just make sure you really keep your wits about you. I found it easiest to get to the portal where you activate your key by approaching from the Southwest.

Its a 4 second (if memory serves) time to disable the Gateway. Plan accordingly.

Wow, his respawn rate is insane. i pulled him out of the back of the base away from other mobs to kill him. looted his body, spent about 15 seconds killing another mob that had respawned and he was back!

He seems to have a very small aggro radius though, attacked a mob almost right next to him and he didnt seem to care, pet ran up right next to him too and he didnt move. This was at level 60.

This quest sucks. this sucks bad. the mobs are crowded in the place, they respawn almost instantly you kill them, the patrols seem to be everywhere you are etc etc etc etc etc. I got to the boss with some luck and when I got to him, it seemed as an easy fight, only one add, but at halfway of the battle, surprise surprise the respawned patrol attacked me and pulled fourth mob to me also! :D whatta nice place I say. So I decided to wait my friends to come online and boost me this !@#$ing annoying quest.(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##Kangi##DELIM##

Just soloed with my 61 fury warrior, definetly not a real easy quest. Died three times in the process. One time trying to get to the boss kill, then body run, pulled the boss with pats of course. after that ran to the portal to which i was ganged by like 8 mobs. Positioned myself before I died right in the middle of the portal, then body ran and waited for the pat to walk away, used the key, mounted up then ran out of there. Not the most cost effective way, but unless you have another person to do it with it could be a long quest.

Being a holy priest and not having alot of health i had trouble with the warbringer so if you are having trouble too be sure when he uses flame wave step out of the flame wave either to the left or right of it

Here is the Details:

Head north outta Thrall, (the back door past windrider)

Once you get past all the big Fel Guard Guys, Kill and loot the big guy with two double edged blades,

Go into the middle of the Portal-esque rocks and Right click your newly looted key and click the giant portal.

That quest is crazy, so many mobs with insane respawn rate. Managed somehow to makes it solo with my 61 warrior with the help of a major heal pot at the end, i died right after closing the portal, had to used my intimidating shout to get rid of the adds, it allows me to close the portal. I just rezz back at the spirit healer, no way i was gonna get my corpse there without dying a few more times.

This quest is insane. Utterly insane. Respawn rate is absolutely bat@#$%. We're talking about 30 seconds for Arix'Amal, and maybe 1 to 2 minutes for the rest of the demons. 60 Enhancement Shaman - downed Arix'Amal and got the key with two deaths (one a stupid mistake on my part - that'll learn me to try to light a cigarette in the middle of a fight). Died twice more after that because of respawns and mobs hitting like big angry speeding trucks. Spare yourself the headache and get a high-level friend (or just a group) to nuke everything in sight.

The respawn rate on the mobs is fast, that is true. But the universal rule "don't loot and and the mob will not spawn as fast" applies even on these mobs. Went up all the way in the back (stealthed but you can fight your way through), cleared the back area, left them unlooted and pulled Arix'Amal. Halfway to me he for some odd reason went back but second time (mobs still hadn't spawned) he took the bait. Killed, looted used the key and got out of there like a bat out of hell.

Next stop, Arazzius the Cruel.

A real handy hint to fellow paladins; you can channel the key while under Divine Shield. I rushed him; took the key, ran to the Rune and Bubbled / used the key... (After that I died =D )

The respawn rate is excessively high in this area so I suggest if you are a rogue, like me, stealth in there, make sure your vanish is ready, stand directly infront of the warbringer and distract him. He may resist it, but try again until he turns around. If you go behind him instead, when you unstealth you will aggro 3-4 other npcs. After you take him down, which shouldn't be too hard, since he is a magic user, vanish and head to the portal, but make sure and wait for the guy inside it to walk away. Use the key and then sprint over the cliff. You will die, but you won't have to worry about being stuck in 5-6 mobs. Also if you run to the edge of the cliff between the 2 cannons and then die, when you rez you can hit stealth and still be alright, but do it quickly. I was able to kill the boss and finish the quest as a level 61 hybrid spec rogue. Good luck, and I hope this helps.

You really need to clear the entire area, I start near the cliff edge and work my way along the cliff face, killing whatever is in the way, best way it to pull, even doing this as a rogue, I pull using my bow.

Respawn rate and aggro range are terrible, I hope in the next expansion they think of something a bit more original, ok they want you to level slow so they get more money, but that just takes the biscuit.

Just soloed as a 63 pally......easy.....7 minutes. Clear the mobs on the way, kill the guy and get the key, use the key, kill the "1" mob that attacks you, mount and run. DONE!

As every post above states, this quest is insane. Why it isn't labelled a group quest is beyond my understanding. I'm a level 60 enhancement shaman and it took me several corpse runs to complete this. What I did is go through the right side of the camp, dying of course on the way. Then rezzing and trying to fend of mobs. Then I went after Arix, who had one of those Felguard fellas with him. I died there, and came back, and Arix was by himself and then I killed him. I went for the portal, died again inside of it. Then I came back, rezzed and tried to use the key, but pulled two of those f***ing "Sisters of Grief" along with another guard and died where I stood. Came back and there was a Felguard standing IN the damn portal, so I had to wait for him to move. Then I rezzed, used the key and got the hell back to Thrallmar.

As you can see, it's a very difficult quest. So do it with a group since the following quest leads to Cruel's Intentions which is actually labeled a group quest anyway. Plus it'll save you a repair bill and frustration.

Who cares if he has already respawned - it doesn't matter. his aggro range is tiny and you can click the portal with him right there.

Yes the mobs respawn fast - bout time there was a slight challenge.

The mobs at the gateway spawn quickly. You can be overwhelmed if you're not careful. The fel cannons can be annoying at times.

But Arix'Amal is an easy kill. Loot and click on the portal. After that, mount up and ride fast.

Any advice for soloing this as a melee? I get all the mobs around him cleared, run in, and get quickly roasted. He can't be pulled behind the machine (he just runs back after a few feet) and pulling near the front with the quick respawn rate has proved deadly.

I have a lvl 61 troll mage: - Mana shielded and rode as far north east as I could get. There the mobs killed me :( but it was a good place to rezz after for there´s a small ledge next to the Mt. around 53,24.

Rezzed, ran back, went to that ledge and buffed up.

Killed one by one the 3 mobs in the area before getting to Arix'Amal. Ate and drank after every kill, then aggroed Arix and focused just on him as another mob tagged along. Killed him, froze the other mob and got the key (priority in case I died again). Luckily I was able to kill the other mob. Drank up and ate again.

Moved my rock to an easy access spot in my bar. Drank an invisibility potion to get to portal, since all the mobs had already rezzed, including Arix. Walked right passed them and was able to overload the portal as my invisibility fainted. Mana shielded again, mounted and rode through all the mobs off the top of 51,30 right into safety.

Died once, but that´s only because I was lucky to find that great spot NE.

Ok, I made a stupid mistake, based on the destruction of the other portals where you needed to be inside of them to blow them up...

You do not go inside the portal. You click from outside of the portal. The is a gold disk floating before the entrance of it and if you can see that. click on the key and click on the disk.

I rezzed 4 times in the portal before I realized what my mistake was. And then it took a lonnnnng time to undo that error.

so simple go rigth above Thrallmar hard to do but ya can do it! we have faith in ya everything is right there portal is right infront of him but the trick is kill him first that way if ya die you can come back and real fast loot him and if ya die after you get the stone come back and rez in the portal sould be safe then mount up and ride like all get out gl

The respawn rate on Arix'Amal must be broken, I pulled him away from the central area with my pet, killed him and the one slave he brought out with him, looted the key, went to move back into the camp and he had already respawned, we're talking no less than 40 seconds.

To complete this quest you need to slay Warbringer Arix'Amal to get the Burning Legion Gate Key.

You need to make your way to the north of Thrallmar, check you map to discover the very left demon camp mark, you can locate Warbringer Arix'Amal there.
Carefully clear a path and pull him away from servants. After killing loot Burning Legion Gate Key and click to the central core of the gates to close them.

You are an honor to us, <name>. But now we must strike before the Legion recovers! To the north of Thrallmar lies Invasion Point: Annihilator. It houses a warp-portal through which the Legion draws its reinforcements.

You must overload that portal - and blast it back to the abyss it came from. The portal's activation key will be held by the Point's commander - Warbringer Arix'Amal. Slay him. Take the key. Use it on the portal and do what must be done. May the warchief's blessings be with you.
