This quest is started by a letter (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=29588) which is dropped by Warbringer Arix'Amal (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=29588).

I don't think the letter has anything to do with this quest, but I'm not positive. I got the letter and did the first part, turning into Warp-Scryer Kryv. However I did not do the second part of the letter quest (kill 10 Terrorfiends). I had done all of Field Marshall Brock's quests, though. Anyway, without finishing the letter chain I was eligible for Overlord.

The weird thing is I did not see an ! over Trollbane's head indicating he had the quest Overlord for me, so I didn't try to talk to him. Someone else in my party was able to share it with me, though, so I did it that way.

There's some sort of prereq for this quest, but I'm still a bit confused exactly what it is. And Trollbane may be bugged and not showing the yellow !.

Doing part three of Field Marshal Brocks quest will tell you to go kill Warbringer Arix'Amal.

Warbringer Arix'Amal then drops the note needed to get this quest. It's like Van'Cleef in Deadmines.

Just picked this quest up for my twink. Looking forward to the ~2% crit chance =)

You need to kill https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/npc=19298 to get the letter. Hand it in and Overlord becomes available from Trollbane (in the same room). No other prerequisites as far as I know.

There is a terror fiend quest that you must do prior. I had to do it before i could receive the overlord quest

you will need more tin 2 it took 4 for mi groop to do it we had a 61 fury warrior and a warlock a long with 2 huntrs. kill the adds win he summon or you will die lol.

my pet tanked it as lvl 64 as another hunter and myself dpses it, no healer required. not that hard as long you have somthing to tank.

Completed this as 61 bm hunter w/64 feral druid, 60 enh. shammy & 60 balanced druid. It was way overkill, feral druid tanked, we dps'd him down in less than 20 seconds, no heals. His adds (water elementals i believe) do quite a bit of damage but cant take a hit very well.

This is very hard. Wiped twice with a group of 3(lv64 hunter, lv61 war and rogue). Finally did it with help from a lv64 warlock nearby (make it a group of 4). The lck died and we managed to finish him while all of us barely alive. Both his melee and pyroblast hit hard, and he can silence you. The summoned infernos do not hit hard but the boss has too many healths (44k) and the damage accumulated is threatening.
You would need a high dps to finish him off fast, and a tank, a healer to do this at the recommended level. Or some twinks.
Considering the prerequisite also a hard quest which many people skipping , it is very very difficult to get a pug to do this. They should nerf the boss or it will become a useless quest which you can only get the reward at a level too high to need them anymore.

Soloed lvl61 warlock. Curse of doom--->banish-->shadowfury(not to let him attack while casting fear)--->fear--->damage from CoD---->renew curse. Took about 10 min. I kill all elites by this method.

I was fortunate enough, after spamming the General and Looking for Group channels for about 5 minutes, to get a PUG5! It originally was a PUG3, but two more asked to be included at the last minute, so we waited, killing patrollers in the interim. Needless to say, Arazzius got creamed.

We pulled the two adds down the ramp and slaughtered them. Made sure the group was ready, myself and another rogue got behind Azarrius, and the hunter sent his pet in. We all pounced and the boss went down in less than 30 seconds. It was nice to complete what could have been a difficult quest in short order, with a good PUG.

Went back to Trollbane in HH, turned in the quest and selected Bladefist's Breath. That is a great trinket for a rogue (my crit jumped over 1%!), and the +200 AP should be a great buff when using Blade Fury.

This quest is started by the series of quest in expedition point that involves you bombing several targets, then it leads more bombing on the shelf, then more killing, and finally closing the portal. If you're on the quest, the missive will drop off the guy for the portal closing quest. take the missive to honor hold and kill arazzius (62 elite)

The alliance version of "Cruel's intentions".

Very easy boss to do as long as there is no interference. A healer, tank and a DPS class will kill him easily in sub par to decent gear, a well geared dps and healer can kill him too.

These are great trinkets, awesome on demand abilities and equips, on a mere 90 second cooldown. Only the +health boost one seems a little weak.

Go to Hellfire Peninsula and kill Warbringer Arix'Amal. He is just a level 62 non-elite mob and goes down easily. He is on the shelf north of Thrallmar at Invasion Point: Annihilator. To get to him you need to start east of of Thrallmar.

After you kill him he drops the Burning Legion Missive which you click on to begin the quest chain.

Quest 1: The Dark Missive
Quest 2: The Heart of Darkness
Quest 3: Overlord

FYI: Killing Warbringer Arix'Amal is also part of another quest chain, but not needed to start this quest chain.

The PREQUE: to this quest are all correct. You get the note from killing that guy Arix'Amal, and NO you do not have to have any other quest compleated to pick this note up. I have compleated this quest line at lvl 68 and I grinded lvl 60 to 68 in nothing but instances. Now I am going back to do quests to get the loot I want. -->BUT<-- the quest giver for this quest is not Warp-Scryer Kryv, it is the white guy standing next to Warp-Scryer Kryv, Force Commander Danath Trolbane.

RECAP:
Loot the note from Arix'Amal. Turn note into Warp-Scryer Kryv. Accept and compleate quest The Dark Missive, given bay Warp-Scryer Kryv. After turning in The Dark Missive to Warp-Scryer Kryv, then talk to Force Commander Danath Trolbane. Force Commander Danath Trolbane, is standing next to Warp-Scryer Kryv.

Soloed as a lvl 65 Hunter, Decient gear

Sent my pet in and started pet mend while he was on the way
Kept pet mend up kept a sting in place and kept firing.

Pet finally died with less than 1/8th of the elite's life left
Dropped a trap and used wing clip till he died

you get Overlord from Force Commander Danath Trollbane after/at the same time you complete The Heart of Darkness Warp-Scryer Kryv. quest needs updating for this.

So you are saying that he's not soloable? Sure he's tough, but @ 70 my lock solo killed him

No pots, just a great solo build, 22/39/0, Demonic resilience and siphon life/shadow embrace, Awesome solo build coz the VW has 72% dmg reduction

Anyways, Just saying it's possible.

Today tried this on my rogue alt with a 70 friend and 2 others. Horde group came and screwed us over, so we waited for them to try it. Got him down to 25% health then we struck, utterly destroying them as they couldn't handle us and this big boy. Mob ended up aggroing our group afterwards and we easily killed him. Honor and a nice trink, talk about killing 2 birds with 1 stone.

This guy was tough, but not too bad. Myself (61 hunter) and a 60 pally went there for this quest and the terrorfeind one. We gave it a shot on the elite, didnt do too much before we had to abandon it and run. Asked some guildies, a 68 war came to help and we nailed it no problem. Good loot, 15,500xp at lv 61.

just dps:

Warloc, level 70, 505dps, voidwalker as tank the start
Rogue, level 65, 229dps

The pats can be pulled out the "arena" before you kill the elite.

I(rogue)used evasion and a super healing potion.

I (60 Rogue) was randomly invited to a group for this quest by a 61 priest and a 61 druid. The druid tanked, I DPSed and the priest healed, we got it in one shot, very easy. I didnt even have the quest at the time, i was just in the area, guess i'll be doing it again.

70 Druid- feral/Kara geared. Killed him solo. Hit him in cat form for a little opening DPS- over to tank form and pounded him down. Still over 6 thousand health points when he fell. Toss ina few swipes when the added come and they go down fast enough.

Solo'd him with my 70 Elemental Shammy... easy peasy with Greater Earth Elemental and a constant stream of lightning bolts. Threw the occasional Healing Wave into my Elemental and dropped the guy while at full health... tho the Elemental had just bit the dust and I went OOM with the Frost Shock I used to finish him off, lol.

So much QQing about him being unsoloable, I just destroyed this guy like nothing with my 70 warrior.

Very doubtful any class can solo this guy. Tried with my 70 lock- no go, and 70 rogue couldn't do it.

Around 45k-50k hp. Summons adds as well- 3 infernals around his level non elite. Was hitting my Felguard then Voidwalker for 700-900ish. I got him down to 15k hp with my lock using dots and health feeding my Felguard/Voidie. They eventually lose aggro due to his many hp.

So in conclusion 2 lvl 70's could probably do it. Otherwise 4 or more at the quests level.

I said about a year ago noone could solo this. Proved myself wrong as my 69 Tankadin just did it with 3k hp left.
