Morug was significantly harder than Silroth.

I was able to easily tank and spank Silroth with felguard but Morug required curse of doom and banish. Took 4 rank 2 dooms to kill him. also had to deal with about 4 pats between banishes. a lot of mobs will pat from all around.

Soloed both as feral druid, in bear form.

Morug does a poison attack, and a fairly weak physical attack, neither causing any major problems. Bashed once to cast one regrowth.

Silroth have some fire attacks that hurts pretty bad, but otherwise is fairly unproblematic. Used frenzied regen once, and one Bash for regrowth.

Be sure to clean the area around for mobs and any patrols, and pull as far away as possible. Was never interrupted by any other mobs while fighting Morug, but failed to notice a patrolling demoness and her imp before engaging Silroth. Luckily, they only attacked at the end of the fight.

soloed both as a warlock, just enslave his and kill mobs, that walk near ( DON"T HEAL HIM !!! ), and then he has 5-10% HP - summon voidvalker ( or filguard if you are demonolig ), then kill him - he'l have 5-10% hp .. and try me - it's more simple ))))

Soloable by a 70 rogue. Premed / Cb hemo spec, With Drakefist, 1400ap , 8k hp.

Morug:

Has a "Poison Splash" Aoe that hits for 900ish with a 200+ dot over 10 seconds. The range seems to be about 15 yards. Casts about once every 30 seconds.

Has a throw ability where he hurls his saw blade at you. Around a 30 yard range and hits for 900-1100 on 20% damage reduction.

Average melee from 500-800.

Definitely the harder of the two for this quest, but it can be soloed with proper use of cooldowns and some patience. Has about 29k hp ( according to mobhp )

Make sure to clear a suitable area to fight just before you pull. Respawns will wipe you.

You will want to keep crippling poison up for this fight.

Start off with a CS > Shiv > Rupture then run towards your cleared kill zone. Make sure to keep him in combat with deadly throw / ranged weapons. You will probably be hit with his saw blade attack, don't worry.

As soon as he reachs your kill spot, Immediately hit evasion and reach 5 combo points. Keep doing white dps while saving your cp until evasion wears. Gouge into a kidney shot ( gouge is to prevent an unlucky parry / dodge / block ) Dps him during the ks and move backwards just before it wears off, hopefully he will be slowed and you can stay safely out of his melee range until your gouge cooldown comes back up.

Use your blind early, and CoS out of his poison dot every time it is up.

The fight should consist of brief periods of melee to gain combo points, followed by a gouge > kite > gouge > ks > melee > gouge repeat.

You do NOT want to stay at range for a long period of time, long enough for you gouge cooldown to finish. Staying at range for too long will result in not having enough hp to finish the fight. Do not give him an extended window in which to poison you / saw attack. You should have a max of 6 seconds of kiting to preform before you run in to gouge unless a special misses.

Use all your cooldowns early. This includes bandages and potions. They will probably refresh before you kill him.

If your gouge / ks don't connect for some reason, just shiv him with cripple and kite some more. You have about 5-6 minutes to play with him before respawns of the spot you cleared return, so don't feel you have to rush the fight.

Silroth:

Has a "chemical flames" attack. Not as issue at all, just run out of it.

Has another flame based attack, I didn't catch the name because it was so easy to interrupt. Takes about 3 seconds to cast. Just kick / gouge / whatever to get him to stop.

Average melee on leather for 400-700

If you soloed Morug first, this guy is a cakewalk.

Similar strat to Morug . Clear an area to work in. This is the only part harder than Morug in some respects. There are many many more patrols by Silroth. I cleared a path west up upon a hill to where I could see the ecodome and fought him there.

I used mind numbing poison main hand and cripple off hand for this fight.

CS > Shiv > Rupture > Run to cleared area.

Evasion tank it up till 5 CP then Gouge > Ks > Melee > Gouge etc.

I could tank his damage much more easily than Morug's. With a liberal use of kick and a blind / bandage thrown in I didn't have to kite him much at all.

He has about 10k hp less than Morug ( According to mobhp ) and seems to have less damage reduction.

It may take you a few tries to get the hang of it, but this quest is definitely soloable by a decently geared rogue who knows how to handle the fight.

Solo'd both as a 70 ret paladin, simply wore tanking gear (with 52% mitigation) and judged wisdom + seal of wisdom + blessing of light, and sat there auto attacking and healing and refreshing seal.

for morug I cleared a few mobs then pulled him over the cliff to the west and I was not disturbed by any pats or mobs. this was necessary as it took me about 10 minutes to kill him :) (and was full mana at the end of fight, paladins are hacks!)

Solo'ed both as 70 Hunter. Just clear mobs to pull to a safe spot and let pet tank and once pet gets down too low in health, freezing trap to buy you some time to heal yourself and your pet. Have pet tank again and unload and trap again once pet gets too low. Rinse and repeat until done.

I advise warriors to not bother trying to solo Morug. The poison attack can be avoided pretty easily, but the saw blade attack is spammed far too often both to outlast him and to brute-force him in zerker stance. I tried kiting him to the Stormspire, but I could not both damage him enough to get loot and get him to Stormspire without dying. Since you need to be within 30 yds to shoot him every few seconds you will eat a lot of saw blades on the way there. Even if I didn't eat any poison splashes he would have me down at 4-5k hp by the time I got to the Stormspire, and then you need to get him down to 50% (iirc for loot) before you can drag him to the guards. Get a group-mate for this one.

If you for some reason have Morug's part but not Silroth you can solo him pretty easily. Both his abilities are very easy to avoid, and he has less hp than Morug.

Killed both elites solo as a protection paladin. I judged Wisdom + Seal of Wisdom and wore them down with exorcism and the usual holyshield/ret aura/BoSanctuary. I used my hammer of justice to stun and bandage.
Pull them out into the open and keep walking backwards with Silroth so that his fire breath can't hit you.
Takes a while but they were safe kills.

Soloable as a protection warrior. Demo shout and thunderclap, sunder and shield slams.

When you drop below 1.2k health just spam commanding shout to heal yourself while auto attacking.

Takes a while but you can grind them down.

Soloed very easily as an arcane / fire mage. Stacked fire vulnerability (after pyroblast / slow combo for an intro) and flipped arcane power and continued to pummel them down. Mobs around them where a bit of a hastle, but meh...more loot.

Soloable as a Holy Paladin.

Just kite them simply with both Exorcism and Holy shock. Kite them to Stormspire and start running around outside the bubble of Stormspire. When 20% left then they're very slow and you can start using Hammer of Wrath. Very simple.

Really easy to solo as lock. Just enslaved them and bringed them to stormspire. make shure u do 50% of the damage.

There's a quest in Shadowmoon Valley - Alliance: https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=10626 Horde: https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=10627 - with a similar strat for Warlocks: Enslave one, and use him to beat up the other. Since both are Enslavable, it's even easier than the SMV line. Plus, it's SOO more in line with Role- Play... >:)

As a bonus, there are Consortium quests (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=10290 https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=10293) to get crystals from the giants next door in the Netherstone area. You can turn this one in, get that one, re-Enslave the fresh spawn, and solo those quests, too.

Easily soloed as a lvl 70 MM hunter. Keep pulling your pet out of Silroth's flames (he'll stand still while he's channeling anyway, which makes it even easier) and keep mend pet always up. FD whenever he aggros to you (all too often with high dps and lack of BM for me). Easily done.

Morug was marginally harder. Be sure to clear out all the other mobs around one side of him (remember there are patrols) so they don't interupt your shot rotation. Scatter shotted him a couple of times to give my pet more time to heal from mend pet. Other than that, still simple. (Don't try and pull your pet out of the acid spew, the loss of it's threat isn't worth the meagre amount of dmage you'll negate, plus I'm fairly sure it can still move while the acid is going.)

Soloed easily by disc priest with 12k hp and 548 spelldmg, Morug was little bit tougher then Silroth but both went down without any trouble. Keep up dot, shield and renew and it wont be any problems.

By the way, on Silroth, i wasnt even doing the quest but as a warlock, he was in my way on the teleport this! quest so i enslaved him, killed everything and waited for him to get low health then killed him, dont know if that helps..just what i did, good luck!!..btw hes fun to use...hits hard, he was at 40, 19

Soloed Morug as a 70 resto shaman, put earth sheild on yourself, put out your fire elemental, drop a mana spring and wrath of air and stoneskin totems. pull him with lightning bolt, bolt him again, stop casting and allow elem to pull aggro off of you, heal your elem once, then flame shock, then bolt, bolt, heal pet, bolt, bolt, shock, heal, repeat....cure poison when needed in between

Soloed as 70 prot war, pre-kara gear 11k (12k self-buffed) hp 57% armor mit. Morug was a simple tank and spank. Go def, put up commanding and outlast. I didn't look for a safe place so I had to pop a pot and last stand while moving all over to avoid pats. If you drag him to a safe spot you can prob just Intimidating Shout/bandage if you get low but I am sure you can just outlast him if you can stand still. Nothing too dangerous, 300ish dmg per hit and 500ish for the blades. Was kiting him all over so the poison was no prob, standing still you can just move out of it. Otherwise all I used was devastate, shield slam and revenge, keep up shield block, thunderclap and demo shout.

Silroth was easier by far, like everyone else said, kite to the western area with no mobs and this is a mobility fight, keep moving and you will avoid all his special attacks. You can just circle him to avoid the area effect fireball he shoots it will prob hit you once but ding you for only 100ish. Use a caster bar to see when he is casting his cone fire attack and just get about 10 yards away. Again 300ish melee hits and no CDs or consumables, ended fight with about 50% health after eating a few cone attacks for about 1K.

Soloed both with my Hunter. For the second one (Dragon) just pull him back so that you don't get adds and keep up mend pet. Pet never went below 50%. Coords are correct

The 2 elites you have to kill....very easy. Morug, even had 2 adds that I did not spot, killed without any cd's. Silroth hits harder but downed him in 20 seconds, I just made sure all mobs were cleared here.

Soloed both mobs at 70 Prot Pally. Morug is easier because you can cleanse his spray. Just judge Light or Wisdom, your choice, on him and keep Light or Wisdom up and you can basically just Salvation/Holy Shield/Retribution Aura the guy to death. Takes a while, but just pull him to a safe corner after you clear.

Silroth isn't much harder, pull back and around to where the elite giants are and kite him up and down the road, keep backing up and he'll never get you with the big spray. Keep your Seals up and you'll stay full of mana enough to stun him and heal yourself every time Hammer of Justice comes up.

Soloed as a 70 feral druid. It really isn't that hard since they're completely ccable. Any druid can solo this guy, balance especially. Clear the mobs first, then root spam and dps. That or (for ferals) start as kitty, pounce+FFF+mangle+shred (another if you get ooc) then rip, get to bear form asap, and use lacerate to dps. Make sure mangle and demo roar stay up. Barkskin heal if needed.

Little to add, but I just did this as a 70 beastmaster hunter.(BG gear mostly)

Should be used to it by now, but I am still always a little surprised at the enormous difficulty variances between elites of all levels. Just one example.....Arazzius the 63 elite in the Cruel Intentions quest, is MUCH tougher than either of the elites in this one. Not even close.

As others have said, just carefully pull and kill all possible adds ahead of time.

One funny thing....when I went back to turn it in,
Karja was nowhere to be found. I left the game for awhile and later she was back.

After a ton of time on battlegrounds (for gear), it's nice to be back doing a few quests again. Far and away my favorite part of the game.

I soloed this as a lvl 69 Paladin (Holy with some prot and some ret.)

No real problem, Morug takes burning a bit of cooldowns but not very hard really and Silroth is even easier, the only real dmg he does is from his chemicals and those you just get away from ^^ just pull him down to the side where the big elite giants are and run around, healed once during that fight.

I used all my CDs, divine favor, illumination, bubble and LoH

Just remember to look out for adds and look around he is pretty big so he can block the screen and adds can creep up on you!

He isn't all that tough. The big problem are adds. The mobs in that camp roam all over and can start a mean chain of aggro. You need to clear as much as you can around him and hurry up and kill him as soon as you can because the respawn rate is super fast. Seems like by the time you clear one side the other side is starting to get respawns.

coords are right so far - soloed with a shadow-priest first one is a easy cake, you can grind him away from the forgecamp. second one - well clear the area around him have a pot ready and fear him!

OK locks' just enslave them - then get them to target other mobs so they do the work for you. Don't forget to tag each mob so you get loot and don't let them die - just get very low on hp. This way you get loads of loot and they are easy to take down when the enslave wears off.

You'll probably need to "/console reloadui" if they aggro on being enslaved as Blizzards locking of the bars means you don't get their bar appearing.

Soloed the first half as a holy priest, in all healing gear. I survived with 1500 health and 200-300 mana, using all my cooldowns and two healthstones. The second part was much easier, also solo with the same gear. I cleared a few demons, and just brought the dragon down to the nearby road. Fear, shadow word pain, wand, PW: shield, renew, heal, wand, fear, etc. Very easy, much easier than the first.

I could really use some help with this if anyone has advice (TBC Classic).

I keep trying to get this quest. I have no idea why I can't pick it up from her. I followed the advice here and did all the other quests she had, and all the other quests the guy next to her had. They just have nothing for me anymore. I'm Aldor. I thought it might be a rep thing so I got to honored. Still nothing. I checked the aldor quest givers in Shatt. Nothing. I submitted a ticket to Blizzard. They actually got back to me and told me it was in fact, bugged, and that they reset it and I should be able to get it now. I still could not get it. I reopened the ticket and they said "teehee well you have to figure it out for yourself ;)." Normally I wouldn't mind but I'm completely at a loss at this point.

Soloed as lvl 70 enhancement shaman, 6.8k health 1.2k attack power ~ Semi karazhan geared, no tier bonuses but Ebon lw set equipped.

Morug hit harder, I used Earth elemental on him along with Drums of Battle.
Silroth was easy, interrupt, fire elemental & drums ~ he just fell over.

Socrethar's Shadow

Anchorite Karja at Area 52 wants you to obtain the First Half of Socrethar's Stone from Forgemaster Morug at Forge Base: Oblivion and the Second Half of Socrethar's Stone from Silroth at Forge Base: Gehenna.

Performing quests for the Aldor will cause your Scryers reputation to decrease.

Descrizione

The infamous eredar, Socrethar, leads the Burning Legion in Netherstorm. Mentioning his name is enough to make most draenei shudder. He gives orders from an island in the northwest that only his most trusted lieutenants can access.

To get there you will need to obtain a teleportation stone, which won't be an easy task. The first half of the stone is in the possession of Forgemaster Morug at Forge Base: Oblivion. The second half is held by Silroth at Forge Base: Gehenna.
