It seems the only way you can start this quest is by saving the Captured Protectorate Vanguard when he is fighting the gladiator. After killing the gladiator you will then see the vanguard has a quest for you. You can only do it when he fights the gladiator also. any other mobs and he just despawns.

I had to idle here for some time. If you need some kind of a timer to when he spawns then just look at how many times the Ethereum Assasin spams something in the chat. Once he's yelled about 15 times then a /yell from the Ethereum Gladiator comes and then u should get down and help the quest dude.

As for the escort itself, I did not notice any quest specific spawns. If you haven't cleared the path (north, towards the Watch Post), it can be a bit tricky still, though. The path leads him/you past two groups of three mobs each, the first one consisting of Researchers and the second of Shocktroopers (I think, though I'm not certain on that one), and then past some stray ethereums at the end of the path. To complicate matters further, Captain Zovax also wanders up and down the road - he might surprise you as you're fighting. And did I mention the escortee is rather squishy? >_>

So basically, if you want an easy stroll for cash or experience, clear the path before starting the quest. Do not dawdle too long though, or you might have to wait for another gladiator.

You might want to do this before you finish "The Ethereum" (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=10339) since if you're lucky (or, unlucky depending on your point of view), you can pretty much get both the required number of Shocktroopers, Researchers and Captain Zovax done during the escort.

Seems if you kill the 4 assassins in the area, a few minutes later the gladiator spawns. Tried this twice and it worked both times. Then just kill the gladiator and you can get the quest of the friendly guy

I had no idea of this quest at first. I just killed assassins, then he spawned right in front of me with that gladiator. Killed gladiator with him, and he gave me the quest.
Easy quest, have to fight only 1 or 2 enemies at a time. I waited for him to take aggro, to avoid killing enemies not needed to kill.
First I had to kill Captain Zovax, then 2 researchers, then 2 Shocktroopers (other was patrolling the road up and down), then some Shocktroopers alone. No extra spawns.

This mob spawns right after the gladiator does at the coordinates indicated. Help him kill gladiator and then quest appears. 2 Warriors did it no problem. He helps fight.

you have to wait for it to spawn and duel a Gladiator, the glagiator is an elite. After u kill him, Vanguard will give you the escort quest!

Thank K'aresh! He would have torn me apart!

I'm a Protectorate soldier, fleshling. My platoon was sent on a recon mission about 10 days ago. As we were moving across the upper ledges of this island, a group of Ethereum jumped us. At least I think it was Ethereum. They had the same energy color but their wrappings looked void.

Only Tyralius was spared. I think they put him in a prison cell.

I've got to get back to the Protectorate Watch Post! Can you escort me back?
