Pretty easy, just go directly north and a bit to the east, u will see the eggs on the floor.

Just be aware of the Ravenous Flayer Matriarch, a lvl 70 elite Beast that wanders the area.

The Cipher of Damnation is an extremely long quest line in Shadowmoon Valley. It is a prerequisite for attunement to The Eye in Tempest Keep and Mount Hyjal in Caverns of time.

After completing the quest, you will get a message in the mail from Khadgar. If you go to Shattrath, he will tell you to talk to A'Dal, who unlocks the the three Trials. These are prerequisites for attunement to The Eye in Tempest Keep and Mount Hyjal in Caverns of time.

Druids can break the eggs while flying in Crow form. I was able to hover out of aggro range and avoid fighting any mobs.

I'm always one to complain about yet another "Kill X number of "somethings" and then a quest like this comes along and it makes me ask "why didn't they just ask me to kill 12 of these stupid flayers?" This was one of the most frustrating quests in WoW.

Annoyance confirmed. Watch out for the elite as aforementioned by someone else. She has a 1min debuff that slows your movement and some poison I think. Fearable, however.

Hadn't read the comment about breaking while in crow form but i just flew from egg to egg and only aggroed a mob once, so with a flying mount you should be able to do the same thing. As long as you keep an eye out for the elite you should be fine, and priests can use soothe humanoid as well to get even closer w/o aggroing.

wow, i run over to an egg to try and destroy it, next thing i know i aggro 1 flayer, then 3 more lol, i let my felguard take the damage while we ran away and we did eventually. Then I went destroying more, killed a flayer and the elite agro'd on to me, got em down to 17k health but then i agro'd more of the flayers and it just went to hell.

As long as you clear first, you'll be fine. I finished this in 10 minutes-- (After dying the first time; not knowing that they would all attack me when I destroy their egg, lol) Pull them one by one, and clear everything. It's better than getting raped by 4-5 them.

Druids can destroy the eggs in flight form.

Very handy to use Mind Soothe as priest. Makes you able to bypass killing many of the mobs while running around there.
Note: Mind Soothe disappear when they run for a board-corpse to feast on.

Also to note if you're attempting to fight as few of them as possible: periodically a felboar carcass will appear in random places, and any nearby flayers will run over to eat it. try not to be standing next to one for long if you can help it.

As of patch 2.3.3, breaking in Druid flight form no longer works.

Suggestion: don't die. The run back from the graveyard is a major PITA. :)

I would pull one mob about 20 yards away from anything else and get two more...

Ok, everyone I spoke to, and every coordinates I found were wrong. Where you need to go is just North of Oronok's Farm. I missed the fact that the mobs there fighting the boars are the ones whose eggs you are supposed to smash. This is mostly because I didn't do the quest straight away but had to leave at that point.

And as was stated, really keep an eye out for the matriarch. It's easy to have your eye on the eggs and forget about him, but that guy will beat you up and steal your lunch money.

Three boxes from 70 and I wandered all over the map looking for the Shattered Plains. It's not marked, as usual, which is a pain. Apparently they are at 23,59. Have yet to confirm as the world server is currently down. Again.

To the druids 68+:
You can destory the egss while in flight form. Hovering just at the head-height of the flayers, your aggro is significantly decreased (it may be non-existant - I didn't check fully). Look out for the matriarch, but you can complete this quest without having to fight virtually anything if you're careful enough.

Oronok Torn-heart at Oronok's Farm in Shadowmoon Valley wants you to destroy 10 Ravenous Flayer Eggs on the Shattered Plains.
