This is a quest involved in the Black Temple Attunement Chain:

The Black Temple attunement starts at The Altar of the Sha'tar for Aldors, and the Sanctum of the Sun for Scryers. Both are in Shadowmoon Valley.

Aldors start attunement from Anchorite Ceyla (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/npc=21402) at the Altar of Sha'tar in Shadowmoon Valley:

After that, the chain comes together for Aldor and Scryer.

After you finish this chain, you get to pick from some rewards and the chain seems like it ends. It continues however, inside Serpentshrine Cavern (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/zone=3607) from an NPC called Seer Olum (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/npc=22820) who you can speak with after killing Fathom-Lord Karathress. He starts the next part of the Black Temple Chain by offering the quest:

For this quest you just return to Akama.
2. https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=10946 Ruse of the Ashtongue
In this quest, you must use the costume Akama provides, and kill A'lar in Tempest Keep: The Eye while wearing the Ashtongue Cowl. Attunement for The Eye is a whole different chain.
3. https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=10947 An Artifact From the Past
In this, you need to gain access to The Battle of Mount Hyjal in Caverns of Time, and slay the first boss, Rage Winterchill. Attunement for this involves killing Lady Vashj and Kael'Thas Sunstrider.
4. https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=10948 The Hostage Soul
For this you must speak with A'dal in Shattrath city.
5. https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=10949 Entry into the Black Temple
For this, just speak with the naaru Xi'ri in front of Black Temple.
6. https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=10985 A Distraction for Akama
Unknown what this quest asks of you, most likely you need to defend Xi'ri and make your way into Black Temple. At the end, you become attuned to enter and are granted The Medallion of Karabor (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=32649)

At this point, you are attuned and can enter Black Temple, although the chain continues and you can soon upgrade your medallion. It continues with:

1. https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=10958 Seek Out the Ashtongue
You just need to find Seer Kanai (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/npc=23158) inside Black Temple.
2. https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=10957 Redemption of the Ashtongue
This involves entering Black Temple, and killing the boss the Shade of Akama (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/npc=22841).
3. https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=10959 The Fall of the Betrayer
After killing the Shade of Akama and returning to Seer Kanai, he asks one last thing of you. Kill Illidan The Betrayer. After doing so, you are granted the Blessed Medallion of Karabor, an upgraded version of your original medallion, and allows teleportation to the Black Temple.

This dropped in one shot for me... Interrupted his healing with a vengeance, just dropped right on on him without aggro from the warriors around him.

Blizzard must have caught on to this as they added 2 mobs to either side of him on the side of the temple Just as easy to take on out first and then fight oronu IMO

Coords are good. Strategy is sound. Fly to ledge. Kill. Fly out. 30 seconds.

I just flew to where he was (at 57, 32) and killed him. No other mobs to kill. Easy as pie.

As a mage (above 68 ofc) this is extremely simple, just turn on invisibility at start of the camp, run to the end of this egde. Go out of inv, kill the guy and slowfall of the edge =)

lvl 68 rogue stealth up the camp, sneak up behind him, sap him , rob him then....KILL HIM! OH then rob him again! ;)

This guy has about 7k hp. Basically, look southwest from the Sha'tar altar stairs and you'll see this building thing. Fly up, and first kill the guards on both sides individually. Then kill Oronu. I doubt anyone will have real problems with this guy, he's just a tad better than an average mob.

Pretty easy quest. Head up the ramp at 55, 34. Turn left. Kill to building. Go inside and kill Oronu. He is a lvl 70 non-elite mob.

If your lvl 70 with a flying mount just simply fly to the ledge and drop down above him. Only 1 mob to kill and thats him.

with a flying mount, this is a very easy quest, just land on the edge to avoid anyone else coming in

Since none of these comments were helpful for me, I will point out that Oronu is on a platform at the NW corner of the Ruins of Baa'ri, at approximate coordinates 57,33. You can land and engage him in combat without activating his guards if you have a flying mount. I'm not going to tell you about how cool I am or what Class/Spec I am, because this is not the information that people care about when they want to kill this guy and get their quest done.

Anchorite Ceyla at the Altar of Sha'tar wants you to obtain the Orders from Akama from Oronu the Elder at the Ruins of Baa'ri.

Completing quests for the Aldor will cause your Scryers reputation level to decrease.

According to the tablets, an artifact known as a Medallion of Karabor was kept at Baa'ri. Only the highest-ranking draenei priests were granted these, as they allowed unfettered access into the Temple of Karabor.

We must find out whether the Ashtongue have recovered the medallion that was kept at Baa'ri yet. Its power would provide great aid in our fight against Illidan.

Akama's lieutenant at Baa'ri, Oronu the Elder, receives written orders from him daily. Obtain them and bring them to me.
