If you're there alone, prepare to corpserun a few times. I think I had to run at least three or four times during the quest. And once or twice during the other (Summoner Room thing). Really crappy quests for soloing. Be smart, bring a friend along.

There are two tunnel entrances. The top one is the one you want for this quest. Yes, spawn time is crazy, but if you watch your surroundings and move through methodically, it isn't that difficult.

Two things to note: First, every few minutes there is a pack of three mobs that enters the tunnel behind you and goes halfway down it. Don't let them jump you. Second, don't get close to the infernal stones.

Just to clarify the above comments, there's a cavern on the bottom with lava, and a tunnel on the top with Demons. If you're in the cavern, go back to the entrance and follow the ramp up to the tunnel. Pass the Demons until you reach the Dormant Elementals. It is just before the last pair of Dormant Elementals that you will find Korgash's body (which can be looted for his backpack).

If you find Flanis Swiftwing at the end of the tunnel, move back to where the final Dormant Elementals are; Korgash's body should be lying next to them.

In the top tunnel, there is a patrol of two Tinkers and a Infernal Soul -- they killed me or caused me to die many times because of bad timing or multiple mob aggro.

Blech. Just a warning.

If you die in the very back room, behind where the body is (at least in the down-right corner of said room), it is possible to resurrect above ground, straight above your body. Saves you the trouble of clearing your way back out if you, as I did, just suicide rush the quest. Just run to where your corpse marker is on the map.

Yeah, me being a lvl 67 squishy, it was a smart move to just bubble, blink and run through the tunnel, get the pack, die and rez above ground.

Warriors, this is not a very easy solo-able quest. Unless you want a high repair bill get a couple people to do this with you. There are way too many adds and the respawn is too fast to go at a cautious pace.

Basicly I ended up dying so much my repair bill was more than the quest reward @ 70

This is a pain in the ass to solo, and like most of smv, even if you're 70, you still will die a few times. I've done this as both enhan and resto shammy and a destro lock and have found that the only way to solo it is to keep moving. Choose a path, pull fast, eat fast, and pay attention. If it's guild drama or the interweb, losing focus will bone you on this one and once you die you'll have to deal with crappy positioning from repops.

i have no idea why but i decided to run to the end of the cave dying but when i died i got from 71% durability to 5% durability! seriously how? the numbers i got are from titan panel which is pretty acuarate... but seriously thts really noying.. make sure to have lots of durability if u are running insted of killing

nasty quest i tell u.... damn... very hard even with healthstones, warlock, 70, hard, very hard... u have to go slow, but not very slow cuz they respawn VERY VERY fast... ... fire prot. potions help a bit.. but not much... very hard anyway... but.. not imposible, u just have to wish to do it :P

The post below is quite accurate up to a point. Do as directed to work your way over the bridge, hide, wait for patrol to pass,etc. Unfortunately for me, the mobs aggro'd like crazy once I tried to kill my way to the back of the passageway on right leading to Kagrosh (after crossing the bridge), and death was unavoidable (70 Warlock). More tries--more deaths. It's possible I picked a bad route, but I don't think so and if you're set on soloing this quest (as I was), here's the ugly way to do it. Get as far as you can towards Kagrosh (35,40) before dying. Corpse run and when you rez, just run like hell towards the end of the passage way. I couldn't find a spot to rez without immediate agro, so my trial and error attempts led me to this conclusion, that the fastest way is just to run towards Kagrosh until you die. It may take you up to three deaths. Kagrosh is at the end of the passageway on the left, right next to a mob. Click on Kagrosh, click on the dialogue balloon and the quest is complete. You will die, but the fortunate thing is that there are no interrupts from mobs as they kill you and so it's click click and die and then just rez at the graveyard to avoid further aggravation. Not pretty, but it works.

was quite easy as 69 hunter. send pet through the hall with the infernals with eyes of the beast. when he's in the room, make him stay there. switch off eyes of the beast (I was too far away, so I had to call the pet again, but I could make it to the room while the elementals were on their way back). after they had all calmed down I could just walk to Kargosh who was lying on the ground just next to the room.

did the same thing to get back out.

Rogues can do this without even killing anything.....stealth to the back, sap one guard, blind the other, loot Kagrosh, vanish. Bye Bye

The path down to the Deathforge is at 38, 35. Make your way into the first entrance. There is one guardian outside, and two just inside but out of agro range. After killing these three, you will see two more at the bottom of the landing, kill the one on the right first, and make your way over there.

There is an Infernal and two tinkerers who path here, and they are linked from the quest: The Summoning Chamber. Kill the wandering summoner, and then the guardian on the otherside. Make your way to 38, 39, and if the pather comes you will not agro as long as you are up against the wall. Continue to kill as you make your way to the room that is directly ahead. Once inside the room, you need to make your way to the right, killing whatever mobs you need to.

At 35, 40 is Kagrosh, search him to get his pack, and complete your quest.

Did it as a all epic druid but were close to dying several times.

Many mobs. patrols. fast respawns. . I would suggest bringing a friend. I was in combat almost the intire trip.

Very easy if you know what you are doing! Go down ramp behind quest givers tower... Kill Inferno and Lil guy for the piece for the rital at second enterance. Go in... Turn RIGHT. To bottom. Kill mobs. Disrupt ritual. Come out. Go back up ramp a lil. Turn left into first enterance. Stay right. Down ramp. Around room on right side. End of hall his body is there talk to him twice. You auto get pack. Go out and turn both in. Then go back to first enterance. This time stay left. Down ramp. To locked Gate. Open gate. Fight a few mobs. Kill Demon, credit for his kill drops note. Fight out or hearth. Make sure to Health/Mana up between kills and pace yourself. Move fast and follow directions and you will be fine!

The quest is quite simple realy, the corpse of "Kagrosh" lies in the end of that long hall of infrenals, it lies just outside the chamber on the left side, talk to it, and envestigate it, and you get the pack :)

I followed the directions in this post exactly. It led me to Flanis, the alliance quest corpse. Where is Kagrosh?

The directions really aren't clear. The quest giver is right next to one of the caves thats sunk into the cleft. However these other cave entrances aren't so in the open and I don't see them. I took those elevators just to survey the surrounding area and I STILL don't see them. Clear directions pls.

Invisibility, run right to the end (start in the room with the smiths) and kill the summoner, then sheep one of the guys just outside the last room, kill the other, talk to Kagrosh, kill the sheep and you're done.

Either wait a few mins for invisibility to CD or hearth :o

ok in the hallway of infernals (top entrance). go all the way down and just before you go into back room, the guard on the left is standing in kargrosh's corpse.. do not do aoe spells or attacks cuz u will wake the dormant infernals. they didnt aggro for me unless i hit them... this is cake for a 70 warlock. just use your head a little.... for the horde!

If you try to just kill your way through the pat will catch up to you and kill you. If you know the trick, soloing the deathforge is easy.

You are going in the western entrance (the entrance the patrol goes INTO, not the one they come out of). Wait for the patrol to go by and clear out mobs near the entrance. If you're really fast killing them then keep working your way in. If not (like maybe a holy priest), clear out some mobs near the entrance then back out and wait for the patrol to go by again, then continue on.

After several groups of mobs you will come to the end of the 'bridge'. Don't go through into the next room yet, turn right and go several yards up the ledge. Eat, drink and wait for the patrol to pass by. Once they are past you, then work your way into the next room. You should be in the hallway before the pat can come around again.

Okay, as below enter in the northern most entrance around 40,38.

Fight your way into the room with the smiths, and around the corner to the right where the infernals are, and get to the end of that corridor, and you'll see his corpse on the ground near 2 guards.

The Fate of Kagrosh

Scout Zagran at Slag Watch wants you to search the Deathforge for Kagrosh and recover Kagrosh's Pack.

The scouting party originally had three members. Unfortunately, Kagrosh decided he wanted to be a hero.

He descended into the Deathforge and we haven't heard from him since.

In all likelihood, the fool's gone and gotten himself killed. The Shadow Council members aren't idiots and Kagrosh wasn't exactly strong in the subtlety department, if you know what I mean. Keep an eye out for him in the Deathforge and recover any information or items he might have collected.
