Zezzak won't give this quest to you until you have completed "Wanted: Worg Master Kruush" which you can get from the "wanted"-sign at the entrance of Spinebreaker Post.

I do not know if "Wanted: Worg Master Kruush" is necessary to get this quest, but "The Eyes of Grillok" (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=10813) certainly is.

Right, I meant that Zezzak won't talk to you at all until you finish the Kruush quest. You still have to complete "The Eyes of Grillok".
I just felt like writing it down since I was looking for a way to make Zezzak talk for about an hour. I just never see those wanted-signs... :<

Grillok lives in the cave next to the cauldron used to boil the blood. He has two bodyguards in there with him.

All are non elite.

I just wanted to add that you're able to pull the two bodyguards without Grillok adding. Makes it easier if you're alone, I pulled the body guards with 'flameshock'

if you are a frost-mage you can solo this. just pull grillok with your water elemental and you will not get aggro on bodyguards.
i thinks its a bug, but it works.

If you equip the sword or stave you get from the Unyielding questline then fight Darkeye, 2 Unyielding knights spawn to lend a hand.

Some details about this fight

1-The 2 guards can be pulled without aggroing Grillok

2- Grillok is a Shaman & likes to use Lighting Bolt, Grounding Totems & FireNova Totems

3-Grillok will run when he is about to die, So make sure the entrance to the cave is clear

4-For a non-elite Grillok has a large amount of health

I did this with a team of two - myself a lvl62 warrior along with a lvl62 druid. It was pretty easy - just rushed in killed Grillok, grabbed the eyepatch and then dealt with the two bodyguards. He's in the cave just behind the cauldron - not in the big camp. 67.72 is correct. The plate is pretty crappy for a warrior - this is more for a paladin but you can sell the armor for 4g+ at a vendor.

Soloed this as a BM hunter at lvl 61-62.

I just sent my pet straight at Grillok with Intimidation, DOTed Grillok and the guards, then had pet growl both guards once while I focused on Grillok, healed him when he needed it, after Grillok died I killed both of the guards, not that much of a problem.

Should be easily soloable by any class I guess.

Soloed as a 59 combat spec rogue. Sap him, blade flurry down the two adds. Re-stealth (wasn't in combat), cheapshot and blow your other cooldowns to take Darkeye down easily. Easiest rare quest reward ever!

Small thing you might want to take into account is that the respawn rate at Zeth'Gor is unholy. If you clear outside the cave entrance and kill Grillok's guards, bear that in mind ... you might find yourself being charged by the guards you just killed with Grillok still on half his health.

as a lvl 59 bm hunter , soloed realy easy , thought getting in the cavern was a pain in the ass,

pulled the 2 grunts , took em out

sent pet on grillok , pet got out off fight with around 250 hp dmg (mend pet)

took about 30 secs, used frost trap tos top him from running

I'm a 61arm's spec warrior and solo'd this quest. I used some scrolls to buff myself, then pulled the two guards and killed them. I bandaged then went after grillok and used retaliation and pounded the heck out of him. Seemed to work just make sure u hamstring him before he runs out of the cave.

As a 61 Holy Priest, I solo'd this. You simply pull Grillok from the cave entrance and his guards don't aggro. They also dont aggro when Grillok 'runs away in fear'.. perhaps bugged, but very easy in it's current form.

Soloed with 61 Mage.
First i sheeped one guard, killed the other and killed the second after.
You can pull the guards without pulling Grillok.
Then i summoned Water elemental and killed him.

easily solod as a lvl 63 combat rouge jsut dps and if he starts to cast kick him plain and simple i didn even have to use a pot o yea it said he has 11.6k hp

*Killed the 2 gaurds first
*Cheap shot, blade flurry, slice and dice, Adrenaline rush, evasion, bladefist's Breadth
*5 point evis and a 1 point KS and its all over in 10 secs

this quest is not really a group quest at all in my opinion. I just entered the cave, pyroblast he came, without the guards being aggroed and then i killed him. he is not even elite

Solo'd as a lvl 61 Sublety specced rogue. Extremely easy and did in fact use the Unyielding sword reward and 2 Unyielding Knights were summoned on my behalf, though I hardly needed them. A little added insurance. Left the fight with a scant under 70% health.

Awesome info on using the sword.

But this quest should not be tagged as group. I soloed it as a 59 combat rogue without any trouble. I just pulled the two guards first without aggroing Grillok, then just finished him off.

As a note, he is not elite, but he has a surprising amount of HP it seems. If I wasn't using the sword of unyielding and had the help of of the ghosts, I would have had to use a pot.

Soloed as a 61 warlock, cleared entrance and guards, then attacked him, didn't use fear. When he got down to 2,000 HP he didn't run, instead he went after me(Probably because of all the shadowbolts :P) but he didn't run at all.

Sent pet in for aggro and tanking. I didn't realize Grillok would run out when he's low on health.

I got him down but there were his buddies and a few more adds. I had to FD and let pet die. After that, just look Grillok and head out.

Soloed this as a level 59 Rogue. It was pretty tough. I was using Foe Reaver equiped with mind numbing poisen (highest level I could make) and Blade of the Unyielding with instant poisen (highest level).

Went in and sapped one of his little buddies there, Cheap Shotted him, and then blinded his other guard. Went on to fight him using Blade Flurry and Adrenaline rush. Two of the Unyielding came to help me since I had the weapon equipped, which definately helped. Had to use a superior health potion.

It was pretty tough, but it wasn't unbeatable. If you're careful about how you fight him and you're ready for the fight, you can beat him. 12600xp and a nice new tunic. :P

Once you clear outside the cave, and be quick about it, go in just far enough to pull his guards. You will only have to fight them. Once you're ready, fighting him is no problem. He has about 9400 hp or so, but watch it when he gets ready to run. Save a stun to keep him in the cave. If he gets outside, he'll aggro anything that has respawned, and they respawn fast.

Tryed it the first time and failed because I agroed to many mobs, went back immediatly after and don't know exactly why but 2 unyilding knights came to my aid wich made the job easier... maybe cause I finished those quests before

Not too hard if you're a mage at least level 60.

I'm a 60 Firemage. I simply cleared out the front - and then got in range and nuked him. He ran out without his guards, and was a pretty easy kill.

Go for it if you're a mage. Great reward, and not a hard quest.

Drop in from the top, the first time I used my lock so that was cake -- but as a pali now in a group I just dropped in from the top and went straight for Grillok, shielded, healed up, took him out, looted, and hauled ***. It's totally soloable, just take it slow and plan your pathing out.

First, range pull him. You wont aggro the other two unless he runs back into the cave. Even then, just heal yourself, bubble yourself, do whatever to keep alive. Personally as a warrior, i have a pendant that absorbs damage. I use it in tight situations.:P

I got rewarded 12,600 exp at lvl 62 and My thrallmar rep increased by 350. Nice quest, just really aggroable.

This Quest is really easy pull Darkeye at RANGE and u dont agro the 2 mobs so it is a 1 vs 1 fight.

Words alone cannot describe precisely how much that area around the cauldron & cavemouth me up the wall.

Aside from the fact you've got half a small country patrolling past every 10 seconds, I had 5 separate mobs regen within aggro range of me while I was trying to clear a little bit of room to pull (and I'm not counting the skeletons the 2 caster mobs brought with 'em). Hell, three of them regened within melee range... which is just peachy for a hunter whose pet is 20 yards away .

Make sure you keep your clearing-the-area fights hard up against the cliff wall so you don't have to deal with the patrols too, and hope you're luckier than I am on regens.

Aside from that, Grillok isn't particularly difficult. It's the standard layout small cave, with Grillok standing at the back and two standard grunts between him & the entrance, but you can pull them first without pulling him too. Grillok himself is a fairly tough non-elite - his level might be 61 but he fights more like a 64 - however he's quite manageable.

I did it with just me & my pet bear at lvl 60, so you shouldn't need a group if you actually are 62. That said, having a friend along to help with crowd control & nearby regens would probably make the experience a damn sight more soothing.

At level 60 I got 12,600xp & 350 Thrallmar rep.

Do yourself a favor and do this quest with a friend. I (stupidly) started to solo this one at L60...but quickly recruited a friendly priest nearby. Never would have been able to do it alone. Well...maybe. But it would have been ridiculously hard, and I'm sure I would have died. Aggro is difficult--if not impossible--to avoid, so just plan on it. Pick off the surrounding mobs (quickly...fast respawn rate), take a quick break to replenish mana,etc., and then go into the cave to fight Grillok (and use whatever you've got to keep him in the cave...as others have said, he'll try to run out).

As a hunter, traps and FD came in handy here. BW is handy, too, but save it for the crunch, when you really need it. Hope this helps.

To complete this quest you need to kill Grillok "Darkeye" and bring Grillok's Eyepatch to Zezzak.

Make your way toward Zeth'Gor and then check out the area north of it. You should locate a cauldron on purple rune and small cave next to it. Grillok "Darkeye" is inside the cave.
There are two Bleeding Hollow Grunts inside as well. Carefully wipe out couple of warlocks outside the cave get ready. If you have any cc, cast on Grillock and get rid of grunts.
After wiping them out you can deal with Grillok "Darkeye". He is not elite, but hits harder than grunts. Can also cast chain lightning and drop aoe / grounding totems.

The quest may be unavaliable to solo for several specs, so you will need to find other pal to complete it. Or get a couple of levels and try later. Dont forget Grillok's Eyepatch.
