Just remember that the range for the mental interference rod isn't very far. So you just need to stand close to the teleporter, and not move very far with the mo'arg

I had problems on the Central one...for some reason they wouldn't stay under the rod's control for more than like 3 seconds. I finally got one that stayed and got it.

On the plus side I had the wrathbringers drop 3 fel armaments and a few marks...so it's all good in my book.

Warlocks can enslave the demons and they have an ability to "destroy teleporter" or something.

For one with huge boss I just enslaved one, sent it in, hit ability and high tailed it out of there. No problems at all. Take a lock friend.

Also, it's important to remember that the destroy teleporter spell has about a 10 yard range, so that makes it a ton easier to complete this quest.

Tried this several times today and it's not working. I get the Mo'arg by the teleporter and press the destroy ability and the mind control fades and he starts to attack me. So basically, his destroy ability isn't even working. Any ideas?

The resist rate on the mind control seems pretty high. Some teleporters took two or three tries because the MC would break so often.. basically, my experience was like that of others.

Just a note of technique. If you can clear a small area around the teleporter and snag one of the Forge-Lords while they are spawned inside the teleporter, you won't have to worry about him getting attacked, as the other mobs can not reach him.

Also the CTRL-5 works well as it is an instant cast, especially if he is standing inside the teleporter.

It seems that any break in line of sight on the controlled mob will break your control over it. That includes having it walk in such a way that one of the small structures around the teleporters blocks your line of sight to it. I may be mistaken, but it did seem to cause my control to break when I just ran this quest.

I had a lot of troubles with this quest. First time i controlled one the mind control broke just as the teleporter got destroyed meaning I didn't get credit, and with the one minute cooldown, there wasn't much left to do but kill the Mo'arg in question. Second mob was buggy. Didn't move from the spot, took no damage when i wanded him, didn't evade, didn't even aggro even though I was standing on him. Just stood there taking the hits. So that was another two cooldowns before I figured he was buggy. Fourth mind control got resisted, so I guess I can confirm it's resistable as well...

So I guess I'm saying, if you've got bad luck, you're in for a long quest.

Note that if you make a MC'ed mob attack another mob, then both will chase you when or if you lose the MC.
I tried attacking an elite called Silroth with a MC'ed mob, and after the MC'ed mob died, Silroth came running after me.

If you have a flying mount, there is a very easy way to do this quest. Land on one of the obelisk-type things with the green beams coming out of them, which are around the teleporters. Pick one with a Cyber-Rage Forgelord right next to it. It's a little difficult to land perfectly on the tip, but it is possible. When you land you will enter combat. After a few seconds of evading, he will appear right on top of you. Now use the Mental Interference Rod on the Forgelord. If you try to use it on him while he's on the ground, he will evade. With the Forgelord controlled, walk him off the obelisk and into the teleporter and use his move to destroy the teleporter.

Another tip: if the pet bar doesn't appear, try using this macro:

As a Warlock, you don't even need to use the rod. You can enslave demon and it has the same effect.

As a hunter with a flying mount, you can complete this quest without having to kill anything. Simply use Track Demons to find a spot close to a transporter within range of a mo'arg. You should be able to destroy the transporter within seconds, giving you ample time to feign death. Be careful at the central transporter, there are multiple patrolling mobs as well as the elite pit lord, and it is difficult to find a clear spot to land.

If you're a warlock, this quest is obscenely easy. The goals of the quest don't specify that the rod be used, just that the teleporters be destroyed. Use Enslave Demon, on one close to you. Send it to attack something on the other side of the teleporter. As he passes by, use the skill. The elite is no problem. For that matter, attack the elite with him! Just use the skill when he gets down there.

A good idea to consider while doing this quest is to clear all the other mobs around the teleporter. There are lots of adds to get you killed if you pull by mistake. Beware.

I had some serious trouble with this quest, so I want to share how I did it:
The point with the quest is to destroy the teleporters. They are alll very close to eachother, so they wont be so hard to find.
You should clear the area around the teleporters, except for one Forgelord. Make sure you stand as close to the teleporter as possible (this is VERY important). If you move the Forgelord out of range, he will aggro you. Just run away from him, and dont kill him.
Move the Forgelord close to the teleporter and use the ability to destroy it.

I didnt get a petbar, but the Forgelord's spells replaced mine, so it still worked. I used a lot of time to make it work, but it went really fast when I understood that I just had to stand close to the teleporter when i took control of the Forgelord...

Central one wasn't working for me, went to 41, 19, MC'd one of the Mo'args or whatever, got really close to the teleport and as soon as I would use it the mind control would break the teleporter would explode and I would get no update

KK So I've had my problems with this quest and after reading through its actually not too bad once you get the hang of it as some1 mentioned before.

1. Hunters if you have a pet dismiss. You can't have 2 creatures under your control at a time.
2. Throw the rod into a hotbar if you can just makes it easier to MC.
3. Coords are correct start at 40,20 and make ur way due east. The teleports are the big things with green crystals at the top and all the pretty green lasers going into it.
4. Pick a spot to land. Your looking for somewhere where the pats can't get you and close enough that you're almost within the teleporter's range. Fight in if you need but try to pull the mobs back away from the teleport leaving just the one you want to MC. Get close to the teleporter you actually have to be near it when it goes boom to get credit. MC look at your main hotbar and it should have controls. Cntrl + 5 is also the detonate command. Once done boom and fly away.

Hunters can feign after MC and fly away others may have to kill the MC mob.

Cyber-Rage Forgelords are the mob you want to MC.

This quest is annoying slow, and just plain stupid.

Number 1, the name on the object they give you to take controll of the mobs is complety wrong.

Number 2, the mobs in that area are over crowed.

And Numver 3 to actually get to the center one you have either got to kill 2 elites or die several times like me.

Cant believe how easy this quest as a lock is.

All you gotta do is getting close to the teleporters, enslave a mob, use the bomb, and just take that mob with you, get close to the enxt teleporter, use the same mobs ability and so on. done in 5 mins

Warlocks. Dismiss/ Demonic Sac your pet. Enslave one of these guys. Walk him close to each one and use his detonate ability. You don't have to worry about a 45 second cool down. I did the whole quest in 5 minutes and only used the one guy I enslaved.

As far as I can tell this quest is bugged.

I couldn't get the guys to blow up the portals while using the staff thingy, however, after enslaving one, I did get the option to blow stuff up ;-)

so, as of today, Warlock _can_ enslave these demons and complete the quest with them.

On a side note, the elite near the 2nd portal can be banished. makes life easy.

Yeah follow Moonrunner's instructions and its not too bad.
Pick a spot that is mob free.
Inch close to a cyber-rage forgelord, and gain control of it.
walk it to the middle of by the crystal thingy.
click on the 'detonate' button (NOT the chaos button)
You'll get credit.

An added note: Walking them off a cliff after you're done blowing up the crystals is pointless. They're very talented rock climbers. *blinks*

As a hunter, I ran through with my mount, FD'd somewhere relatively clear, went over, MC'd, BOOM.
Pretty easy, as long as ur FD isnt resisted

Note that it won't work unless you are standing fairly close to the teleporter. Using flying mount, was able to complete without killing a single mob. Just pick a landing spot near a lone Cyber-Rage Forgelord, move close to the teleporter, be ready to run after you release.

KEY POINT - You MUST be standing close to the teleport yourself. I missed this and stood off trying to run my slaves in and they were continuously breaking mind control.
As soon as I realised my error, and stood between the mob and the teleport, it was a quick one, two, to finish off the two I needed.

My biggest problem then was to lose the mind control buff in the ensuring fight. Not sure but it seemed to take more than a single right click to on the buff to dispel it, getting me back to my own body.

Having the exact same problem. as soon as I MC one, it breaks before i can even turn the mob around. Generally lasts 2-3 seconds max. Extremely annoying. But i've seen other people MC them for over 10 seconds, so i don't know what the problem is.

At one of the teleporters stands a big mob (silroth). Everytime i try to get a charmed mob close to the teleporter he agroes and I loose control.

My question is:

How close to the charmed mob have to be to the teleporter to use the bomb? Can you do it from a bit away so as to avoid aggro or do you have to be right beside the teleporter?

Any input would be much appriciated.

If you are using any interface modifying addons, you might find that the interface panel wont show up. I had NO clue what I was doing wrong on this quest, just couldnt get the guy to blow up for me...then I read on here that there was supposed to be a 'pet panel' type bar show up. Logged and disabled all addons, completed quest, enabled all addons.

Once I had it figured out it wasnt too bad...just clear all the mobs in the area but one, MC it, and blow up the teleporter.

I had finished quest thanks to the poster of CTRL+5 so I did not get a chance to use the above command line.

Just spend an hour trying to do this quest, when I start to see the piture completing.. I didn't get the 5th button,, only the control and cancel thing in 1 and 2.. so I can never do this quest.. but then I read someplace further down that warlocks can enslave and complete the quest,, took me 3-5 mins to enslave and complete, and Yes, I got all buttons.. so if you don't have a lock ?.. then your *!@#ed

I had some probs with the one with the elite (Silroth).
I kept "loosing" control as soon as I was close to the teleporter.
I tried and failed a lot of times til i figured out that you don´t have to be so close to the teleporter.
Wait a second (as stated earlier here) for the spell to really "kick in", go towards the teleport, hitting "DETONATE" all the way!
It´s easy when you know the answer. :)

If you can't do this quest, quit wow. I'm a rogue, just make sure you clear one little section, mc them with the rod ctrl+5 this quest took me 10 minutes to do.

I got my last 5% and dinged 70 trying to do this horrible, horrible quest. Every time I used the rod, it would either be resisted, or it would break 2 seconds into it.

In order to control the mob, you must first dismiss any pet you have. Fine. But once controlled, the Mo'arg has no pet action bar. After releasing the Mo'arg, and calling my pet, my pet does not have an action bar either. /console reloadui fixes that. I would imagine it would fix the missing action bar for the contolled Mo'arg too, but since it is immediately attacked by the other mobs, that is not feasible. So, it is still bugged.

As a 68 hunter it was a marginaly hard quest lots of fien death, you will need yor pet do to alot of killing,but will have to dismaiss him when you channel.
The quest calls for you to channel on a guy but he does not exist,you can however use one of the other guyz, ( I forget his name, they will be everywhere and ontop of the tellaporter ).
When dealing with the elite, once you are channeling he will not attack you, but haul a@#$ out of there once you complete that one, once the channel expires, he is on you like white on a sandy beach. ( HUH? ).

Yea as a demonology warlock, using the rod is just suicide, without my pet to defend me, once control is lost I'm a sitting duck as 6 mobs swarm me. I enslaved them so at least the demon could protect me when I went to the transporter and got aggro. Warlocks just generally have an advantage in Outlands with so many demons running around.

Pet Bars haven't been showing all the time for quite a while. It isn't just this quest.

I believe that the pet action is CTRL+5. Push that while MCing a Mo'arg and while near a portal.

The reason petbars won't show at times is because you're in combat when you summon a pet.

If you stand at max range of a Mo'arg (max range of the quest item), you won't be in combat, and will still be able to MC it. The pet bar will show, then.

After doing this q fun thing is that rod remains at you.(at least it did at me). You can go to forge base and control a guy there and cause it to aggro another mob. Then u kill ur minion(if ur minion dies b4, mob u attacked) and u loot both of them. I dropped 2x fel armaments that time in 1 MC :D

Coordinates confirmed: 42,20 41,19 39, 20 East-to-West. Hunters: you have to dismiss your pet or you can't take control of the mo'arg. Even then, it's still bugged, the control bar doesn't always come up - keep the CTRL-5 keybinding in mind just in case. Also, the comments in this thread are correct, you have to be CLOSE to the teleporter when you take control... if you try from even the far side of one of the pylons shooting green "plasma", you will not have time to get to the teleporter and detonate. When your control breaks, the mo'arg and anything you might have aggroed while you were in control will attack you - so be ready! And watch out for the patrolling Wrath Priest-bi^%#es! (I took out two of them when I was finished just for spite!)

Forget about the incredibly useless "/console reloadui" hint from the GM noted in one of the previous posts, if it comes to that just get in emergency position - i.e., bend over and kiss your @$$ goodbye! - because you'll probably be dead before you can type it, and long before the UI finishes reloading. Even worse is the advice to "quit wow (if you can't do this quest)" - at level 69? Are you joking? I know Intelligence isn't one of a rogue's key attributes, but GMAFB!

Super easy quest if you have a flying mount. Fly to each teleporter:

East -> 42.20
West -> 39.20
Central -> 41.19

Land in a safe-ish place, kill a few mobs to make sure you have a little room and detonate each teleporter by controlling a CyberForge guy. I killed 6 mobs in total between the 3 teleporters.

There is a Maximum length you can take what you Mind Controlled before it breaks. You need to stand fairly close to the device. Body pull the guy you wish to MC and you should be in decent range.

Teleporters are the structures with the floating yellowish crystal on top.

The mob to "MC" is the Cyber-rage Forgelord.

A level 70 can get close enough to MC a Cyber-Rage Forgelord without agroing it. Just make sure he has no "friends" in agro range, as he will agro those once he's MC'd.

Take the Cyber-Rage Forgelord close enough to the Teleporter and click the right of the 2 buttons you got now (like pet-bar buttons). Not sure, but i thought range said 20yard. At least it's enough range to avoid agroing the elite at the central teleporter if you're destroying it from the oposite side.

PS: Any mob agroed by your MC'd Cyber-Rage Forgelord will agro on you (including the Cyber-Rage Forgelord) once you loose/relinquish control. So clearing a bit makes it easier to survive afterwards.

Just trying to get into a good position my holy pally aggros every friggin' mob in the area. Die. Run back. Res and loot. Do it all again.

Once I got close enough to MC one. Walked him to the teleporter and hit the bomb button (his control bar was right there where it belonged). Nothing happened. Hit it again and again. Nothing. Then another mob attacked my body and it was all over.

Every other time I've tried to MC, while I'm still channeling with the rod another mob comes up and attacks me before I can finish. I've died five times. I HATE giving up quests, but this one's beyond annoying.

Follow-up:
Okay, I was wrong, I did not get the whole control bar, just the mind control and cancel buttons. Trouble is, I use a Mac, so Control-5 doesn't translate. I finally just started mashing the various control buttons (apple, function, option, control) combined with 5 and one of them worked.

Still a hateful quest.

I contacted a GM, this quest is working as intended as I soon after found out.

As the range between you and the MC'd mob increases, the MC weakens. If you're right next to the portal and MC a mob, it should work like a charm.

To recap,
1. Go near a mortal (right next to one if possible)
2. Use the quest rod on a Mo'arg (the "bio" technicians all around)
3. Use the portal destroy thingy in your pet ability bar (make sure your action bar mod isn't hiding it) near the portal

Use the staff provided to take the control of the "mechanics". Go with him near the portal and active the destruction. Very often they escape, blasted mobs.

Dismissed my pet, flew over to one teleporter at a time, took control of one of the worker mobs, destroyed a teleporter, FD and on to the next one.

note: when u take control of a mob, its a channeling spell - u have to wait one more second when you think its done, so you dont screw up the channeling..
and oh ya, the pet buttons were working just fine for me..

As a Prot paladin, I found this quest extremely easy. Watch out for the imps; they'll jump out of melee range, and will immediately lead you on a chase that will take you to where you take fire from a fel cannon. Take the imps down first! Oh, the panel you receive will probably be UNDERNEATH your class bar - there will probably be a little bit of the control panel showing, just enough to use. Just click the detonate button.

I'm a 69 Mage and I got it done. Trick is making sure that you have your pet bar set somewhere where you can see it easily ahead of time. Once you get close enough to the mob that the rod lights up, possess the guy and shamble over to the nearest teleporter, clicking on the "Set Explosive" (or some such) action on the pet bar like crazy - they don't stay possessed long...if you time it right (and it does take a few tries) you set the explosive off, the mob gets ticked off and runs after you.
If you're quick, you run away, dodging things and do it two more times.

The trickiest one is the central teleporter, which has an elite next to it.

It goes without saying that this is a LOT easier with two people.

BTW the payoff is getting a related quest for the Acatraz key fragments - something about once you have them, you take them back to the big glowing thingy in the centre of Shattrath.

This went very well for me. Never got attacked by a singel elite. Just enslaved oe, and then used the skill on number 5, and then it was done. Maybe they fixed the buggs. Because I didn't notice anything weird with it.

I did this one easy enough once you get the hang of it. As a rogue you are waiting for either Vanish to be ready, or Sprint and know a good exit path. The eastern one is easy as cake. The guy you can tap is standing right next to the TP and you can pop him and no one sees you. The western one is a bit tricky as there are a billion people that wander through the path right above the TPer. Kill a few of them to make sure no one agros you, and you can stand against the wall with the path right above you and you can hit the brute and send him in. The center one is tricky but it became easy once I watched the patterns. When you face the elite, there is a small tower thingie to the right of him. There should be a guy working on it. If there isn't he went for a walk. Just wait and he will come back. The problem with nabbing him is that there is a priestess and a big guy with a blaster for an arm that wander right next to that tower. If you time it right, you can nab the guy working on the tower while they are gone eslewhere on their walkabout. The trick to getting him is standing between that small tower and the TPer (But obviously not close enough to agro the elite. Hit the mind controller and you will pop out of stealth. The guy at the tower will run at you, then you run him to the TP. Once he is gone you can sprint off to the east, off the mountain and then get out of agro range. Easy as pie once you get the hang of it.

I've been having some trouble with this. As soon as I mind-control one of the cyborg types, it always breaks before I can move them the few feet to the teleporter.

Ok i'm a hunter and I simple cannot do this quest.
Ok, pet dismissed, i scatter shot, then im in control of the thing, so i move it like, 10 yards, to what I think is the teleporter, use the power, and then when i use it, I lose control of the mob, and then he turns on me and the quest isn't done even one thing. Abandoned, the quest is far too vague about what you have to do.

Dunno if I am just dumb or no one else noticed, there are no mo'args in forge camp gehenna at the moment, only mobs taking care of teleports are cyber-rage forgelords. The other thing is, there's an elite mob Silroth, standing at the middle teleport (41,19). The quest is still mentioning mo'args etc, but there are no mo'args at gehenna anymore.

If you are a pet class and have a pet out then you will not be able to use the mind control item. You will first have to remove your pet

Someone else mentioned the MC can be resisted. Confirming as of TBC Classic this is still the case. I have 2 characters, and my mage with lots of spell hit had no trouble, while my hunter barely got the destroy ability off before the mind control broke. It's not a difficult quest by any means, but it can take a frustratingly long time if you keep getting resisted. Consider teaming up with a caster!

Quest is broke. I must have set a teleporter in flames several times. No credit for it in the quest.

Quest is bugged in TBC Classic. No pet bar, no ability to detonate at all after controlling the demon.

Nether-Stalker Nauthis wants you to use the Mental Interference Rod on the Mo'arg at Forge Base: Gehenna and use their Detonate Teleporter ability on the three teleporters in the forge camp.

As fun as killing demons might be, it does us little good when the Legion can keep using its teleporters to replace anything we kill.

Unfortunately, I don't have any high-powered explosives handy... but the mo'arg that maintain the teleporters do.

Take this rod... I've tuned its powers to interfere with mo'arg brain frequencies. Return to Forge Base: Gehenna and use it on any mo'arg you see. You won't have long, but you'll be able to use their demolition charges on the nearby teleporters.
