WARNING: If you wait too long to turn in this quest, these rewards DISAPPEAR. Notice the quest text:

"I may even teach you how to cook them up for yourself, if you hurry."

I kept this in my log for about an hour, and I noticed that the rewards changed from the 2 food and 2 recipes and ~3g to ONLY 3g.

This is solved easily by just abandoning the quest and picking it up again. Since the items you need to collect aren't 'quest items', they will not disappear when you abandon the quest.

You can also collect the items without having the quest, so the easiest thing to do is find the 6 pieces of meat, then go get the quest and turn it in right away.

Next patch alliance can get these recipes also from toshley's station not sure how.

I personally love this crunchy serpent reward. After completing the quest, I leveled my cooking from 61 to 335 so that I could learn the recipe, and have now started farming serpent flesh before going on raids.

Crunchy Serpent is extremely underrated :)

There is no time limit on this quest that I have found yet.

I had this in my log for days (mostly because it took me that long to get all the serpent flesh) and got the recipes just fine.

If you look at the description in your quest log, however, it only shows a 3g70s reward and not the food and recipes.

UPDATE:

Even though the quest rewards only show the 3g70s, when you turn it in, she gives you all 4 items: (i just did this, so I know)

Incorrect at these being horde only, as Deskchairlight said recipie can be achived by alliance in patch https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/npc=21113 sells them check ingame if u want she sells for 3g each recipie shes in the building at Toshly's Station the one thats next to the inn with the elevator. Same thing happened to https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=27687 its now available to alliance, so that one person could have every recipie in the game, but that goal can only be reached by rogues because of thistle tea https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=18160#00zc.

I found them around 65,58.

The Scalewing Serpents are everywhere, but the Lashtails are scattered within the area. Serpents are about 10:1 to Lashtails.

Maggoc the 70 elite patrols this area so keep your eyes open.

Also stealthed spiders called Ridgespine Stalkers are in the area.

The Food and Drink vendor in Evergrove now sells both recipes in a limited quantity.

These can be bought from Xerintha Ravenoak at Evergrove in BE. Limited supply.
The crunchy and short ribs recipes, that is.

very nice quest to do, drop rate is bad at the begining but they will drop fast after u kill some
11k exp and 2 very good recipes...this quest is soo worth doing!

If you read the quest carefully it doesnt tell that its the daggermaw Lashtails it says scalewings...dont go into the Drake pit you're gona die easily if youre not a mage! I had to run back to my original spot after tempting that place

You need daggermaw Lashtails that drops the rib at 23% of time and the best place is : 64.56

There is plenty of them !

It doesn't seem alliance is able to get these recipes, but both alliance and horde are able to make Talbuk Steak and Blackened Basilisk which are the exact same as these two foods.

Talbuk Steak = Mok'Nathal Shortribs
Blackened Basilisk = Crunchy Serpent

I already had 7 ribs from killing the Bladespire Raptors for one of the first Horde quests in the zone; glade I looked here to see what they could be used for :D

If anyone needs ribs, go farm these easy mobs.

Well over 30 kills in the 64, 74 area; The raptor ribs WILL NOT drop for me :(

68,72 was a pretty good spot except the damn drop rate.

And watch out for a lvl 70 elite wandering around. Maggoc or sumthing..killed me in 2 hits.

This quest took me approximately 30 minutes to do. The Raptor ribs dropped first 3 I killed. However, the Serpent Skin was 1 for every 6 I killed. That stunk but the reward is ok too.

Alliance can get these recipes in the villiage of the gnomes in the east of blades edge..... Check with the hut between the gryphon master and the inn..

65.54 got everything i needed. lots of mobs around there. drop rate is a little low. <3 exp though so who cares.

the raptor drop rate says it's 29% but i had them in no time.
the serpent drop rate is 25% but I've killed more than 20 and only have 1.

somedays i just hate blizzard

Tried this in Dec 2021. Matron Varah no longer offers this. You have to buy the recipes from Xerintha Ravenoak in Evergrove (Ruuan Weald on map). She has a limited supply. Requires Outland Cooking (35) to learn the recipes once you buy them.
