You must complete Veil Shalas: Signal Fires and a quick follow up trip to Shattrath in order to start this. It was easily done with an enhance shaman and a warrior as well as with an enhance shaman and a frost mage.

This is not an easy one to solo unless you have decent crowd control available. The regular spawns are easy, but take a little time to get down. The boss who spawns hits very hard, so if you are still clearing the regular spawns when he shows up you will have trouble unless you trap him or immobilize him. Best bet is to get someone to assist you as it only takes a couple of minutes to complete.

I just solo'ed this quest, but I had luck on my side. While fighting the last wave of spawns, the Avatar spawned and evade bugged. I was fighting him on the slope that leads towards the quest giver. After a few minutes, he will respawn by himself and you can kill him easily.

Very nice quest rewards. =D

Note to Mages: You frost nova and Dragon's breath him. He's really easy, he hits hard, but with those two he shouldn't hit you more than once or twice.

About the Encounter:
It is important to note that you have a limited area in which you are allowed to fight. If you walk too far from the quest giver you will fail the quest. This means limited kiting. I would say you should try to stay within a 20 yard radius of the quest giver. This is a multiple wave event and you will have 5-10 seconds of rest between each wave.

The Opponents:

There are 4 waves of enemies:

Wave 1:
2 Birds 1300-1700 health – Melee attacks for 350-700 on 0-1k armor
Wave 2:
2 Birds 1300-1700 health – Melee attacks for 350-700 on 0-1k armor
Wave 3:
3 Birds 1300-1700 health – Melee attacks for 350-700 on 0-1k armor
Wave 4:
1 Bird 10k-12k health – Melee attacks for 1200-2500 on 0-1k armor
This bird also has a pushback ability with about 2 seconds of cast time.
The pushback does no damage
Multiple pushbacks can lead you far enough from the quest giver to fail the quest

My Experience:
I soloed this quest as an elemental mage at 70. I would rate the encounter as moderately difficult because of the limited area in which to fight. Still, I would strongly suggest that this quest be done in a group.

I was able to use all of my crowd control abilities including Polymorph, Blast Wave, Frost Nova, Frost Bolt, and Cone of Cold. Having cold snap with three ice barriers made a huge difference as well. I fought him with 6800 health (add 3 ice barriers for nearly 10k). I did pop a potion mid battle but it turned out to be unnecessary, his attacks while very large were not fast enough to make his DPS as scary as his crits.

I would suggest that any mage who wants to fight him solo open on him with a polymorph to prep a larger damage spell as an opener.

Be prepared that all CC seems to break about 50% quicker on the big bird. Expect 6-9 seconds on Polymorph, and 5 seconds on Frost Nova.

As a warlock, this can be soloed. I'm demonology-specced and level 67. The felguard was placed on aggressive. With the waves of birds, have the felguard attack one while DoTing and fearing another. Rinse and repeat for all the waves.

The last bird can also be feared; have the felguard attack, DoT him up, fear, and drain life.

Somehow i tought this quest spawned an elite mob at the end (maybe because it was blue item rewards or something)

But its just a regular monster, so its easily soloed by almost any class. I was warlock so i was kinda embrassed to have asked my guildie for help when it turned out it was just a regular monster at the end :)

I soloed him as a 70 mutilate rogue. The adds are all pretty easy and I just burned them down with sinister strike. I bandaged after the second group of adds because he comes right after the 3rd wave. When he appeared I just blinded him, finished off the last add, and went to work on him. He's not bad as long as you keep him stunned or use evasion to make sure he doesn't hit you. He was regularly critting me for 2k. I have good 70 gear and it took me 3 tries to get the strat down because he kept killing me with surprise crits. Don't let him hit you.

I was able to solo this as a 65 frost mage.

The birds on the first 3 waves hit pretty hard so kill them asap.

The final bird is the hard part. He was hitting me for over 1000 dmg. I sheeped him to start which gave my time to bandage. I then kited him arround while my frost elemental killed him, he dosnt have a whole lot of hp so it didnt take long.

The quest is fairly easy, but I failed it twice without understanding why at first. Evidently, you cannot fight too far from the quest giver, or you will fail the quest. Who knows why, but that seems to be the criteria. Anyway, the final bird is the only real challenge, and he hits for over 2k on cloth. He hits like an elite, but isn't labeled as one, interestingly.

The consortium NPC nearby, Iz'zard, attacks the small birds if you're standing near him. He doesn't help you with the Avatar though, but you can use him to offtank one of the smaller birds.

Solo'd easily as a 67 feral druid. With the high crit rate in cat, and getting lucky on OCC procs, I could take down the waves really fast, which gave me 8-10 seconds to heal myself up for the big guy. With 14k armor in bear he barely touched me. I ended with about 7.8k HP (started with 10kish) in bear.

I completed this quest easily as a level 70 warrior. Using whirlwind, the first 3 waves were cake, and the last bird doesn't hit for much on plate. Just be ready to hit commanding shout if need be.

this quest is very easy as it takes place in a town. so you can basically do a

/who Shattrath City

then spam whatever names that come up. get 2 helpers and you should be ready to go.

the level requirement is 62 instead of 63, but yes you need to finish Return to Shattrath quest chain(https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=10889) first in order to be able to do this quest.

Solo'ed as a 68 BM Hunter.

Before the fight started, placed a Freezing Trap, and started the quest. Trap would immobilize one of the first flight of birds, cat and I would DPS the other very quickly, then switch.

Second flight, pure DPS, took a bit of abuse. Finished this just as the third flight was starting.

Third flight I set down another Freezing Trap, sent cat on two birds. Was difficult for him to gain aggro on all birds throughout the fight for some reason; I usually had one chasing me.

Boss bird hits hard as aforementioned, however my Freezing Trap recharged midfight, when cat got down to about 10%, I placed one (I also got the full 20s duration), and bandaged cat, then continued fight.

Note that using Feign Death resulted in the birds flying and waiting outside of the 'acceptible' radius for the quest, resulting in failure, so don't use it (I tried this three times, same result happened all three times).

Soloed with a lvl64 demonlogy warlock, none of those birds can be feared, first 3 waves every bird hits 200-500+, last bird hits 800-1000, but fear and dots. Peace of cake.

Soloed this as a 68 affliction warlock so I didn't have Felguard like the one above me. Took me a few tries but it was easy when I figured it out.

It hasn't been mentioned yet but the waves are timed. That means the next wave and the avatar WILL spawn whether or not you've cleared the previous wave.

Before the fight, have a healthstone and voidwalker. Yes, I know he sucks but you need him for the shield. Having netherweave bandages are very helpful as well.

On the first wave, send voidwalker to one of the birds and just dot it with corruption and then drain tank the other bird. They die fast so don't bother with UA, just corruption and CoA was enough. The drain tanked one will die fast and just as you are finishing off the other, the next wave should spawn.

Again, same tatics. On this wave, I couldn't kill off the second bird because I wasn't as fast about it as the first time, so when the third wave spawned I have three at full health and one nearly dead.

They hit kinda hard for having such low hp, so I instant HoT the four and the low health one died. Stick corruption on all three and then I feared one, voidwalker on another and drained the last. Voidwalker was nearly dead so I sac'd him.

Then the avatar spawned so I feared him. DC one bird, shadowburn the other and drained the last one down and healthstoned. Feared avatar again and hit it with corruption and bandaged myself to life tap cause I was low on mana. Then from there on it was just simple fear and dot.

It was challenging but it's also a great example of being able to use all of your skills to beat an encounter. As you can kinda tell, I panicked when I had the avatar spawn and three birds coming towards me so I did what I could to burn them down asap.

yeah, it's truely the most challenging normal quest in this zone. My prot pally got owned hard doing this, most likely i didn't spam consecration enough so i got overwhelmed by the little birds. The avatar critted me hard, harder than anything else so far including elites - around 1.2k. Anyways, it takes a lot to own me normally, kudos to birds ;).

The small birds are manageable but the last one (the big one) is a pain. Warriors can use spell reflection when ever he tries to use his spell. I got owned the first time but the 2nd time a 70 horde warlock helped me.

I just typed /followme to the horde and he followed and help me and im alliance.

I just did this solo with my 64 lock. It Was tough, and I was killed by the last wave of birds, but managed to kill them all. I used my soulstone, revived the felguard, and to my big surprise, the quest was not failed, but all the waves of birds were killed. Only the big guy was there. I had no aggro, so I waited until my HS/health pot timer was up and killed him got the quest.

I died a couple of times caused I used divine shield on the last boss and healed my self. Third time I used avenging wrath along with LoH when my hp was ~1k and done before avenging wrath even fade :D GL to all of you

Was able to solo it as a frost Mage at 67, using Frost Nova with Cone of Cold on the first three waves, critting for about 1.1k, was able to finish them off pretty quickly. Sheeped the Avatar when it spawned, bandaged trinketed and summoned my Water elemental, and was able to DPS it down fairly quickly.

Level 64. BM Hunter soloed just now.
I searched all day for people for this quest but no luck so I wanted to try and solo it.
Killed the first two waves pretty easy, in the third wave
I freezed one bird and killed the other two then the avatar showed up,
fear avatar>kill the remaining bird>heal pet>send pet on avatar>intimidation+bw>feign death>heal pet>hypnotist's watch/bladefist's breadth/berserking/rapid fire.
Pet (winterspring owl) almost died in the end but pulled it off just in the right time.
Hope some hunter finds this useful if not being able to find a group.

Soloed as a lvl 65 Balance Druid.

- used my cc to the max: always one mob hibernating, another one rooted...
- used my treants on the nonelites who werent trapped and helped them
- when the elite arrived, i rooted him (better idea is to make him hibernate cause he got spells...) and cleaned the rest of the nonelite mobs.
- After that i healed, innervated and fought the rest of the battle with mana efficient spells and a rooted elite... guess who won :-)

CC is quite important in this quest... easier quest for hunters, warlocks, druids and mages...

Since you dont leave Shattrath you shouldn't have any problem finding help.
A lvl 70 warlock came directly and helped me finish it quickly.

Solo'ed as a L64 Frost mage.

I just frost nova'ed the first waves and after that just frostbolting them down one by one. The wave with 3 birds I did almost the same, but used a cone of cold at the end.

As for the last mob; I simply popped water elemental, trinket and berserking (I play a troll) and nuked. When I got aggro, I used all my instant casts, then I ice blocked, got out of ice block quickly, frostbolt and then instant casts again. Blink, scorch, dead.

Kinda hard if you're not into kiting, but it only took me one try :)

Easy tip for beating the quest: The actual objective is to kill the Avatar of Terokk while the quest is active.

I tried it once on my 65 Afflic lock, failed, and died. The little birds despawned, while the avatar hung around. So, I ressed up, took my time eating, resummoning my pet, buffing, etc. Then I pulled, kept the mob feared, and dotted it almost to death. When it was at about 10%, I accepted the quest, which spawned two more birds, which I ignored. Very shortly thereafter, the Avatar died, I got credit for completing the quest even though waves 2 and 3 hadn't spawned yet. Feared, turned it in for my reward, and ran out of the zone 'til the birds leashed.

Well I was kinda lucky, even though I am a Frost mage i was in no way ready for this quest. I was not buffed or anything I made it to the third wave and then got dropped by the last one, But out of no where a Hunter from the Horde started helping me out. I died but he still killed so i got complete. I would have liked to thank him but i am Alliance. and he was horde. This happened on Manneroth

Soloed as a Lvl 67 shadow priest.. Did it by dotting each bird with SWP and VT and wand them to save mana, once the boss bird came out just dotted, trinketted and sent my shadowfiend. Just fear whenever the spell is up and take a time to heal, shield when mind flaying and you'll be fine.

Soloed as 65 holy pally, as long as you have an aoe (like consecration) you can easily take out the waves with a few moments rest in between. The boss is the hard part, good to have a trump card like a stun or bubble.

I was able to solo this as a level 65 protection warrior. I just thunderclapped each wave as they appeared while spamming Devastate and Victory Rush when available. Due to my relatively low damage output I did have several waves pile up on me-- had to pop Retaliation, but it bailed me out pretty effectively.

The avatar mob was hitting me pretty hard, so I used an Intimidating Shout + Heavy Netherweave Bandage to recover some HP and finish him off.

Used lots of cooldowns, but it was a pretty painless experience overall.

Possible to solo as Enhancement Shaman at level 65, though I was cutting it very close. I was using mainly green/blue quest rewards.

Dropped Strength of Earth, Healing Stream and Grace of Air totem and kept up Water Shield.

The initial wave of birds were easy enough, a stormstrike + the odd windfury proc was usually enough to take out a bird, with earth shock added for extra damage where required. I was able to eat/drink between waves, though I didn't loose too much hp until after the third wave.

The avatar hits relatively hard, around 700 pr hit, but I was able to outheal the damage done. He did get me quite low towards the end, and then a healing pot came in handy. I finished the fight with just over 200 hp, surviving thanks to a luckily timed pushback giving me some range to throw in a quick heal, followed by a parry & dodge.

I was able to solo this as a lvl 65 feral druid. I stayed in bear form for the entire fight. Mauled/mangled down the waves of trash and ended up starting the fight w/ the avatar at about 70% hp. Finished the fight against it with ~1300 hp left. I had to use almost all my cooldowns, and war stomp really helps. I popped a super health pot at the end because i was down to a few hundred hp, but it wasn't needed. Still good to have though.

This fight is very solo-able for feral druid lvl ~65, decently geared.

forgot to mention, with demoralizing roar on the avatar at all times, it hit me for between 400-600 a pop.

Just did this solo as a level 65 sub rogue, no special gear except questrewards really.
The birds in the 3 wave's dies very fast but they do quite a bit of damage. Nuked down the 2 first waves, popped evasion on the 3rd wave with 3 birds. After they were down I was at 40% hp, so I blinded the "boss" and first aided (max rank), then shadowstep, popped AP trinket, hemospam until 5pt rupture and then a 5pt kidney. After kidney wore off, prep > new evasion and he died during that. Doubt I would be able to do it without the dual evasion cause he hit me for about 1300 a pop the few hits he actually got in + that knockback (undodgeable since its ranged) for 450dmg. Could also have used a pot if he got me lower, but wasn't needed for me at least.

You will also get 3-4 seconds of eating between the 3 first waves, wont be a lot, but everything helps. Good luck.

Just did this as a 66 Enhancement Shaman...

I laid down my Earth Elemental Totem on the 2nd wave so i knew it would last tild the big guy.

I also laid down a Magma Totem, Grace of Wind, and a Health Spring one. I have very crappy gear w/ like maybe 2 blue pieces, but was fairly easy when my elemental died I popped my AP trinket and Shaman Rage and commenced to beat that A**, and won.

65 Sub Rogue - Impossible to solo.

The waves hit for 300 each and do a debuff reducing all damage you deal by 50% so its impossible to get them down on time.

Even using evasion,healing potion,nightmare seed and dynamite every try for 9 tries i was still dead whenever terrok appeared(Saving prep,bandage and blind for the boss)

Save yourself the trouble and just ask in shatt /1

Tried to solo this as a L66 combat dagger rogue, was hacking on the 3rd wave when the boss showed up, game over.

Ran back, waited, asked a L70 riding by if she would help...and she did! Made short work of all birds, picked up Choker of Bloodied Feathers and a nice gold reward as well!

Very easy with 70 affliction lock. Used voidwalker for agro for the little birds, soc on one coa on both= dead. Avatar, fear, dot up, drain life, dead in a few seconds, no damage taken ether.

just soloed as 65 Frost Mage. the big naughty birdy wiped me the first 2 times, then I devised a strategy that seemed to do the trick.

for the first 3 waves, frost nova them, and blizzard them. one channel of Blizzard will kill all 2/3 of them, and give you enough time to drink back to health. repeat until the large boss spawns.

as everyone else advised, poly the big one right away. you're now on full health and mana with all CDs up. pop Elemental, Icy Veins, Trinket and nuke nuke nuke. when he gets close blink and repeat, don't be tempted to iceblock even though he's one-shotting your shield, because your little wet pet will get clobbered losing you valuable damage whilst you're getting knockbacks.

a couple of shatter combos with fireblast and he's dead, I used Cold Snap so I could IV again, as the pushbacks really annoyed me. he died with me at 50% mana and health. easy!

I wouldn't call it easy, but definitely soloable. 67 fire mage, used one superior health pot. I'm not so sure about the 30-40secs stuff, for me it was approx. 10secs between each wave, but was indeed 2 sets of 2 birds and then 3 birds, all very easily taken down with about 3-4 AOEs. The last bird has 11k hp, and knocks u around, making u jump backwards. He did this to me twice, and had to use first aid for a couple of secs just to keep going. Then when I had him down to enough hp to take him down with fireblast, he hit me really quickly 3 times in a row, taking me down to approx 10-20hp. I fireblasted him and he was done. Keep in mind for the final bird I had combustion on as well as activated a trinket to give me extra spell dmg.

I failed soloing this as a level 65 troll hunter three times. After asking for others to join me on the Shattrath channel, I was about to give up, when a solo alliance character comes up and triggers the quest. The birds attack him and I think, hey, if I help this guy, maybe he'll help me. So I help him and wave after wave of birds, I help kill them, until we kill the boss.

He finishes the quest and immeditely I trigger it. I do a couple of vague emotes to let him know I want help and so he helps me, too. We both get it done with help from the other side. We both left with our trinkets, 16500 XP, and almost 10G.

Solo'ed first try as 64 Frost Mage. Nova birds + cone of cold and they all die in one hit. Boss was trouble. Had to Ice block when he was tossin his feathers at me + cold snap to make sure he was always frozen. Other than that, was pretty easy. Btw plenty of time to eat/drink between waves.

Just tried this quest as a 66 arms warrior 10khp. First 2 birds were easy, second 2 also easy...sat, ate, full hp...then whilst killing the 3rd wave (3 birds) the boss appeared...was down to 3khp by the time the regular birds died and stood no chance against the boss.
No idea whether its changed or something but those who said theres down time between each wave are wrong..only gap was between waves 2 and 3 - just about to retry it incase i was simply unlucky

Easy for a Druid. Birds can be slept and rooted. (I stood off the stone, don't know if that was necessary, just used to doing that since stone under your feet often means no roots))

If I recall correctly, the big one at the end can be CC'd too.

I could not solo this as a 64 Rogue (23/0/32 PvP Swords), even dropping all my cooldowns (including Preparation), a bandage and healing pot.

The closest I got was the last mob down to about half health before he hit me for 1105 then almost instantly crit me for 2237. Didn't even see it coming.

I couldn't solo this as a demonology lock using a VW. The birds head right for me when they spawn. I couldn't kill them fast enough before the next wave spawned. Even fear wasn't enough the waves spawn way too fast. The waves come like 5 seconds apart.

solod as a lvl 66 hunter, suprisingly hard as you gotta kill the waves fast and they go straight for you, not the pet

i set freeze trap before the fight and let some of the cooldown tick down, then spammed tab and hit multishot when they spawned followed by arcane, this was usually enough to kill a bird or get it most of the way down, used scatter when i needed the distance to hit arcane. when you are on the last bird of the third wave (hopefully its hitting the pet) set your frost trap. i was able to freeze him, heal my pet up and then let my pet get a bit of aggro. i hit rapid shots and timed steady shot into my shots until the pet died and used traps to kite him a bit

Easily soloable on a 64 rogue (32\0\23). Well, If you know how to play a rogue anyhow. Only had to use 1 evasion, potion, and a mid combat bandage on the boss (Kidney Shot ftw).

It says two recommended and I agree. Tried to solo it first time 65 Hunter w/ 65 pet, no dice barely made it to the boss and had to feign death. Ended up pairing with another 65 hunter, we somehow failed it the first time through as a pair, don't know why, but second time we were able to kill everything and complete it. I recommend finding a partner fo'sho!

I tried as a 65 Paladin, solo, and I guess I'll hang my head in shame... maybe I'm just not a good paladin... (hangs head in shame), but it was a no can do, I couldn't kill fast enough.

I'd imagine the trick is to kill off each wave of 2 before the next wave comes... if you don't you'll run into troubles of concentration due to getting too many attacks to bust out a quick heal. The way I'm built, I specialize in healing and surviving a long 1 on 1 fight... when you get 2 to three waves of these guys as well as the boss on you all at once, consider yourself dead. Mages, Warlocks, anyone with fear abilities, and ice traps, can probably solo this. Unless you have judgement gear or better, I wouldn't give it a whirl solo as a paladin.

If you want to give it a whirl, and tell me what your build/equipment was, the quest giver, Defender Grashna, is located at 51, 20 and is the finale to a long chain, starting with the quest: Veil Skith: Darkstone of Terokk.

Just solod as 64 Mage frost nova, blizzard and repeat with each wave boss nearly wiped me but my elemental saved the day also had to use one healing pot.

was doing fine as a 65 hunter - easy as pie - unless one of the birds starts evading so you fail the quest but the avatar still stays and right when its about dead decides you look tasty and kills you with a couple of hits

couldn't solo as a 65 hunter with a 65 pet...a 70 undead lock passing by felt bad for me so he helped me on my third try.

My experience (66 Hunter on the cenarius server) was kinda funny. I did no advance research, and as I read the quest I was trying to figure out where I was supposed to go to fight the Skettis Offensive....lol....figured I would find out later and went ahead and accepted it....then "What The F!".....lol. I was dead not too long after.

Returned an hour or two later; and now that, from googling I had some idea what might be going on, figured I would give a solo a try. Set a frost trap and my pet to aggressive...when a very good 67 Warlock, Arcadia, offered to team up.

Together we did it very quickly, but I believe the warlock (and my pet) did most of the heavy lifting early on. The birds initially aggroed on me ( I think...everything happening fast) I tried to get back, but I only got any shots off - on birds on my pet - after fortunately getting knocked back by one of the birds. Once at a distance, I could be much more help. Then we brought the boss down in a hurry.

Anyway, many thanks to the warlock Arcadia who played it well. And hats off to those able to solo this sucker.... it's a fairly cool challenge for a solo. Not so tough as a duet.

Not too rough as a demo lock 64. Solo'd with Felguard as pet. As soon as the waves of adds come out send in the felguard and make sure CLEAVE is active! This will keep the adds from getting to you. A single shadow bolt puts down each add, at 64 they resisted for half twice outa the 9 total birds. Be sure to heal pet between waves. The bird boss at the end was the toughest, mainly cause I was not prepaired, but fear works on him so dot'm up and fear away. make sure to stay at max range so he doesn't interupt second and third fears. Crits for bout 1k on clothies.

their are 3 waves.. not 4! as some here say.

first 2 birds.
then quickly after 3 birds (which are dead if you hit them with victory rush)

then like 20-30 secs after comes the boss... his best hit on me was 821 damage (my armor 5732).

best here is too use retaliation when the boss comes.. otherwise even with an hp pot you wont survive.

Couldn't solo this one at 65 warlock, aff. specc. With a bear druid it was easy mode. They are fearable so it could be done solo if you can time Howl of terror at the right moment.

Couldn't solo as 65 BM Hunter. I actually got taken down by the third wave before the big bird came up.

It was still there when I respawned, so I tried taking it out after a quick eat/drink. He killed my pet with 33% left. I dropped a freezing trap, revived pet while he was frozen. Threw a quick heal, and was able to finish it off. Unfortunately, I had already failed the quest at that point.

Guess it'll be easier just to find someone to duo it with.

lvl 65 druid, solo'd. pretty well buffed up, just bear tanked and swiped the whole way through it. FR'd during boss part.

65 Demo lock. Don't worry about your mana pool, shadow bolt each bird down ASAP. Lifetap + bandage while the elite bird is feared. Dot him up, shadow bolt + keep him feared. Can easily be done by an affliction warlock.
Birds have roughly 1500hp each, come in three waves before the final boss (2 birds, 2 birds, 3 birds).

The Mobs range from 64 - 65 The final boss is 65.

The first wave will be two owls, they both have low HP and are pretty easy to kill. However you MUST kill them as quick as you can because after about 30 - 45secs the next wave of two will come and start attacking. After another 30 - 45secs, the third wave will come and this time there will be three owls instead of two. Again, low HP, easy to kill.

The final mob is a boss, a lvl 65 mob and he deals good damage. It's best to pack a health pot and mana (for healers). Once he's defeated, return to the NPC opposite the one you got the quest from for your shiney reward and 9g. =]

Solo'd as 65 moonkin druid. Popped my trees too early (first wave - wasn't sure what to expect), but then just rooted and burned down birds, and did the same with the last big guy.

solo'd as a 66 affliction lock. took a few tries though.

Set my vw in front of me to intercept the incoming birds.. shadow bolt and burn then and maybe dot and fear as well.. sac vw, bandage while mob is feared.
when it is time for the boss keep him feared and dotted.. couple shadowbolts and its done.

Three waves for a total of 2+2+3 birds, and the boss bird as the final fourth wave. The small birds have little hp but fly fast and hit hard. The boss has alot of hp and hit my poor mage for 1000-1500 damage. On top of that, anytime i tried getting some space between him he charged me; interrupting my spells. It should be possible to solo this as a mage, but tricky indeed. I perished 5 times before calling in a friend.

coc every wave + ice barrier.
when the big one comes, call elemental, frost nova (elemental one), fbfbfbfbfb, ice block, cold snap, another elemental call+ice barrier, fbfbfbfbfb, mana ruby, and is gone :)

small birds hit hard but are killed quite fast - especially with steady shot. Standard fight, pet tanks, mend pet on at all times. I had viper on whole time, although i wasnt ever close to running oom, could probably use hawk fine.
After the 3 waves i let my pet heal about to full, i was at about 90% life. Then i marked, sent pet in and aim-shot boss (rather then wait for him). intimidated early in fight. then mend pet and steady/autoshot. I didnt burn any cooldowns other then intimidate but i did lose my pet at the end (finished boss before he touched me) - probably lucky I got it on first try, but should be doable if you burn your cooldowns.

The first mobs hit 300 and crit for 650 on leather. Last boss hits for 1k.

Definitely not easy to solo.

This is part of a chain. There are 2 optional breadcrumb quests. Completing one will prevent the other from being completed. If the first part of the chain is started or completed, the breadcrumbs become unavailable
