Thuk the Defiant spawns. He is a level 70 elite. He is crowd controllable. Traps, stuns, snares etc all work.

I recommend 2 people at least for him.

The first of "medium evocations" is damn easy compared to the repetable 5-men evocations. After that quest I summoned another mob, a 70+ dreadlord appeared casting rainf of fire and hitting quite hard (Mortal strike too).
Dropped a blue shield.

This quest can't be completed on french servers. GMs says there's a localisation problem.

Soloable as a Warlock, just use fear and your choice of DoTs. Just be careful not to aggro onto other mobs!

The level 70 caster that often comes with him is not actually part of the encounter it just happens to spawn almost inside his prison. However if you go around the back you can pull it without opening the prison.

Probably soloable as a druid tank if you don't pull any adds or have the caster spawn as you're trying to kill it.

Also Gnomish Poultriser works on him. Yay

Solo'd this as a leve 70 elemental shaman in full gladiator/pvp gear. Kited with frost shock and had my Fire Elemental run behind him and deal damage for as long as he lasted. Fight took around 3-4 minutes and had to use a mana potion. I didnt have enough damage without the fire elemental and it did not work to use the earth elemental as a tank.

It is actually quite possible to solo this as a protection warrior. I got hit for around 800 damage in my tanking gear (Karazhan and some few pieces from Gruul), so with block gear I hardly felt any damage at all. Sadly, there came some respawns around 30%, so I died, and after that a fellow shadow priest came and helped me making the fight a piece of cake.

Don't forget to use Intimidating Shout and bandage up if you attempt this.

Solo'ed as a 70 affliction/destro Warlock (spec don't really matter for this fight) via fear and drain life / life tap (for mana). A bit scary at times when he interrupted the re-apply of fear (as he does a throw-back), so try and re-apply it before he breaks from it.

Also was scary having to deal with a couple mobs that aggro'ed, so make sure to clear and have a healthstone and a few health pots.

Horrid quest reward BTW.

if you are trying to solo this as a feral druid i reccomend bringing alot of pots if your average gear its possible to solo but your gona have to kite heal and hope you get lucky

Doable as any kiting class.

What you do is you clear the area around and then circle kite. He will throw Boulders that have a 2 sec cast time that daze you for ~4 to 5 seconds, so this is the time to unleash your nukes since this is the only time he stays still. Otherwise, circle kite like crazy.

For Elemental Shaman specifically, like the above poster said, drop your Fire Elemental totem in the dead center and circle kite with Earthbind and Frost Shock with a few LBs whenever you can and have your Elemental do the damage. Earth Elemental gets rocked.

Soloed as a feral druid in full kara/arena tanking epics. Bash, Regrowth, Bark Skin, back to Bear every 1 minute.

You might be able to buy more time with cyclones, but I didn't need it.

Also can be solo'd by a holy spec Paladin. Just keep up judgement of wisdom and seal of righteousness and you'll be fine.

Just as a note. I have a Feral Druid (70) and I soloed this big fella today. My gear is a mix between Epics and Blues. I have around 14.5k HP self buffed with 24k AC. I basically fought it using bear form; bash when below middle hp, go a bit back, entangling roots, healing touch, regrowth, barkskin, back to bear, and cycle through those again.
I've picked up a spot just behind the chamber (50.7, 11.1), where you don't have to worry about respawns. Just kill the mob on the chamber itself open it and go to that spot. Don't forget to change to bear immediately after using the key, it hits hard.

damn it... i keep getting him to 50%, then adds start spawning.

i only killed 3 mobs: the unbound ethereal nearest him, the caster opposite him, and the caster right on top of the stasis chamber.

As a holy pally I started by opening the stasis chamber from behind. The blades behind the chamber are a mob-free area, so you wont have to deal with any adds or respawns. Used retribution aura, judged wisdom and used seal of wisdom... 22 minute fight but it got the job done.

Solo'd on my rogue alt (SHS pvp spec) with full T4 and Sunwell badge epics. Had major agi and fortitude elixir buffs, as well as fort/motw from earlier group. Double evasion, blind+bandage, potion, etc. Fairly easy.

I soloed this today and Im a resto druid while wearing my T5/6 healing gear(since i heard people mentioning mana issues i decided to keep my healing gear due to its high spirit/regen) Took about 5 mins and i encountered 2 new respawns which i dealt with dots and wraths while i kept Elite rooted at all times and insect swarm/moonfire whenever i could. 1 simple lifebloom was enough to counter his boulder and his range which shoots you up interrupting your cast, just keep him rooted and you shouldn't be in danger.

This may be a surprise: Soloed as an undead holy priest. It took me 3 attempts.

My stats during the fight were:
8571 health
10020 mana
230 mp5 (mana per 5 seconds) inside the 5-second rule
636 mp5 outside the 5-second rule
822 bonus damage
2252 bonus healing
1630 armor

My gear is pretty good. I don't think I could have done it with much worse gear. I also had some consumable buffs on (Elixir of Healing Power and Golden Fish Sticks).

This was my spec: 20/41/0.

My strategy was to keep Shadow Word: Pain and Touch of Weakness up the whole time while "tanking" him the best I could. Inner Fire wasn't much use since he got 20 hits on me way too fast for it to be mana-efficient to recast it. Well, maybe not. I'm not sure. Anyway, I didn't keep Inner Fire up.

I didn't use Power Word: Shield (except to prevent dazing when initially running to my spot) because it costs too much mana and he'd break it in one hit anyway.

I kept myself alive mainly with rank 1 Greater Heal and top rank Renew, because of their mana-efficiency. Whenever I was at about half health, I'd use top rank Greater Heal to catch up, and if I was close to death, Prayer of Mending (one charge of which is actually more mana-efficient than a Flash Heal at my +healing, believe-it-or-not) and top rank Greater Heal after.

To keep my mana up, I used my Earring of Soulful Meditation on cooldown and Shadowfiend twice. On my winning attempt, I found Super Mana Potions weren't necessary, but I'm sure they would have been if my gear wasn't as good as it was. You may end up having to chug potions if you attempt this with worse gear.

On my first attempt, all was going well until he started giving me Mortal Wound, which is a stacking physical debuff which decreases healing by 5% per stack. I found I could get rid of it and prevent it from stacking too high by casting Psychic Scream on cooldown. For this to be safe and not pull respawns from where he starts, I had to fight him on a spikey rocky thing pretty far north of where he spawns. It seems dangerous, but his "knockback" ability just knocks you vertically and can't knock you off to your death.

It's tricky, but doable as a holy priest. I'm not sure about shadow. I don't think I can do the quest again as shadow to test it out, though. Good luck, holy priests, and don't be too discouraged about your class' weaknesses! Honestly, I didn't think this would be possible when I read the quest or spawned him the first time. A clever priest is a powerful thing.

Relatively easy solo for t6 resto shaman with pretty standard 0/7/54 spec. Drop a Searing Totem, Wrath of Air Totem and Mana Spring Totem, then summon him and drop your Earth Elemental Totem. Keep Earth Shield up on your elemental and alternate casting lightning bolts with downranked Chain Heal or Healing Wave on your elemental. Despite some of the earlier comments your earth elemental can tank Thuk very well with an earth shield. I only got Thuk down to 30ish percent by the time my Earth Elemental expired, so I dropped my Fire Elemental Totem and tanked him the rest of the way by healing myself and letting my fire elemental and the occasional Flame Shock finish him off. Mana was never an issue, i drank one Mana Potion early on because I thought it would be a problem, but i never had to use my Mana Tide Totem or another potion.

You need to be revered with Consortium to get the quest. You also need to have done the Ethereal Prison quest in Netherstorm where you get this quest from Protectorate Watch by the Stormspire.

yeah, this guy is a joke. I solo'd it with my earth elemental totem and only 1 healing wave with a gift of Naaru! lol.

has about 66k hp and hits me (about 9k) for 600ish...
but was hitting my earth elemental for only about 300.

I assume that Bash'ir Landing is only accessilbe if you have a flying mount?

The add can be killed in advance, just stand close enough and you can get into LoS. After he's dead there is a chance to kitekill him as a hunter solo. I didnt pull it off (gota 7-21-33 raidspec so heh).

Had i had a healer with me this would be easily done 2man.

Spawns a 70 elite named Thuk the Defiant. Looks kinda like a mountain gronn. was hitting me (hunter) for 1200-1500, also had an add, bash'ir arcanist. unless he has some really nasty special attack(s) this should be cake walk with a 5 man group, which is what it is listed as in the quest log.

Descrizione

The Ethereum have a settlement on the northernmost shelf of Blade's Edge Mountains known as Bash'ir's Landing. According to the key tablet, much larger versions of the prisons are kept at Bash'ir's. It should also be noted that the Ethereum refer to those prisons as stasis chambers.

The key tablet grants access to a very specific stasis chamber at the landing known as Stasis Chamber Alpha. Take the key and investigate.
