If you can't take the quest, that means you already spoke to the ogre Grok and took/finished his quest.

I had the same problem with 2 of my friends when we were trying to do the chain, and it turns out that was the problem

There's definitely a Pre-Q to this.

I've completed on my main but cannot get it on my 70 alt.

I reached 70 in blade's edge mountains, she's a holy Paladin so I stopped solo questing there and then xD

I'm guessing that one of the ogre killing quests in Blade's Edge is the Pre-Q, I'm gunna do them tonight I'll post back giving details of the quests I did when I get this one. :p

This starts the quest chain to open up the Ogri'la daily quests. You have to kill five different elite Sons of Gruul. They are VERY tough and you must have a proper 5-man party to handle them (Tank, Healer, 3 DPS). You might even want to bring along some extra people that can help out of party.

Hmmm well this is interesting since i managed to get the rest of those chains , that is all the qs from the Mog'Dork (for Gruul's sons - 4 in total + grimore business) , without talking to V'eru or Grok.

Azaram, I did not get the ! until I'd completed a boatload of lvl 70 quests <shrug>. Sorry that's not much help but there you have it.

I noticed that on another site they mentioned that you have to have completed a few 5 man quests from the little npc next to the arena in Blade's Edge before you can get this to turn on for you.. I haven't done them yet, and it's not working for me, so that sounds about right.

Anyone know if you need a certain rep or something to get the quest? I can't even talk to V'eru, and Grok just says 'bloodmaul need help, go to mountains'.

There is apparently a pre-req or series of them but I don't think anyone knows what they are atm.

I can't pick this quest but for some reason Mog'dorg the Wizened is available.

UPDATE: this quest became available as soon as phase 2 launched.

Anyone know what unlocks this breadcrumb quest in TBCC or if it's even available?

Level 70, epic flying, did all quests in Blade's Edge while leveling.

Never took any quests from Grok, Chort, or Mog'dorg the Wizened.

But V'eru won't offer this quest.

Can't figure out if I need to do something to unlock it or if I already did something to lock it out.

Some people are having trouble getting this quest. So I opened a ticket to blizzard commenting on the matter and got this response:

Quest name: Speak with the Ogre
Issue: I can't interact with NPC "V'eru", he didn't provide the quest.
I took all precautions, never took any quests from "Grok", "Chort", or "Mog'dorg the Wizened" and even then the quest doesn't appear to me. I believe it's a game bug.

Thanks for reaching back out and sorry for the delay for one of us to properly look over this issue.

So, I've taken a look into this quest from V'eru "Speak with the Orge" and it seems like plenty of people are having an issue with it not being available, but the follow-up quest Mog'dorg the Wizened is.

This seems like it may not be intended, what I have done is put in a bug report for this so it can be looked into, as for a resolution right now I'm not sure if the first quest is required to fully complete the chain, but hopefully it does get looked into and we get this fixed soon.

Not entirely sure, but I think this particular quest might not be available until the next phase. Seems like the Ogri'la questline isn't available in Phase 1, and while the quest from Grok is available, along with a handful of others - this breadcrumb may have been introduced along with the Ogri'la questline rather than earlier. This would explain the inability to obtain the breadcrumb at this time.

I guess waiting til Phase 2 is the only way to be sure.

EDIT

After opening a ticket to get the official quest status on this, I can now confirm that this quest is not avalible in the game (Phase 1):

As for ...... , it is not in game yet. While there may be data from the first time it was in game, it is not in Classic The Burning Crusade yet.

I'm currently in phase 2 of TBC Classic, and I've been waiting for this breadcrumb quest to become available. It finally was offered to me when I got 300 Riding skill (very fast flying).
