The mobs can be found in the area of Skettis, around the outer edges

Just make sure you have your netherray out when you kill..

Also .. if you have X number of people in your group.. You get X amount of updates per 1 kill ...

I started from 70.90 and make sure you release the pet and let him follow you....Once you kill the warp the pet will eat him...

The bigger groups are southwest and south / southeast of the lake. On the way you can bomb some eggs on the west side of the lake for Fires over Skettis:

Make sure you have your pet out and wait to get confirmation that the Nether Ray fed. If you run off he'll stop feeding and follow you and you won't get credit for it.

make sure u have ur pet out before u killing blow it, it only feeds when u kill it , i was gona use it on other corpse lying around ><
u can however go near someone who has killed it and get it done too

If you do this in a party of 5 with 5 Hungry Nether Ray's you'll only have to kill two mobs :-)

If someone not in your group is also killing the Warp Chasers, you can stand by their kills with your nether ray out and you'll both get credit.

Unfortunately, even though it isn't in the tooltip, it's only usuable in terokkar.

Hunters, come in from max range just before the kill. If you are too far away, it doesn't register with the nether ray and he won't feed.

If you are a hunter, don't stand too far away when killing. The neather ray just won't eat it. I think that goes for all ranged classes.

I didn't return this quest and keeping the cage with me for about a week now. Using him as pet. Pretty good pet if you are happy to leave +rep for the quest :D

Also, make sure you're killing warp chasers instead of warp stalkers, don't be like me and spend 30 minutes getting confused and frustrated =D

A really good place to do this quest is around 61,81. There are nothing but warp chasers back there, so you shouldn't be bothered having to clear any other mobs.

Also, you MUST have the nether ray out before you kill the warp chaser. Otherwise, it will not eat.

quick note

although the hungry nether ray you summon does not fly, you can still avoid all agro when running around by flying, and still have it follow you on the ground.

I found 61 82 is a good spot, lots of Blackwind warp chasers here, easy pickings. Took about 5 mins to complete! =)

OK, I found this slightly problematic as a hunter. I have a talent that makes my extends my range to 32 yards rather than 30, and I normally try and fight from the very edge of my range.

However the nether ray needs to be within 30 yards at the time you kill the warp chaser or else it won't go and feed. You can attack from outside 30 yards, it's the position at death that counts.

Once I actually worked out why the damn thing wasn't eating, this quest wasn't a problem. Oh, and hunters can use their pets normally while the nether ray is active... the two don't interfere with each other in my experience.

theres 2 that spawn regularly just south of the mountain where you get this quest, kill them, let your pet eat, and go farm dust from the Skettis, and bomb the eggs on the building tops while waiting for respawns...easy

To Skettis is *not* actually a prerequisite for this quest. It makes sense to do To Skettis first because it brings you to Blackwind Lake in the first place, but a friend of mine was puzzling over why he couldn't get the daily bombing quest after having done these, and we figured out that he never did Threat From Above, and therefore never got To Skettis. So no prerequisite for this quest, except maybe finding Blackwind Lake.

Can actually start at 60,81. If no one has been here in while, like 5 in visual range at this spot. You then head south around the lake and you'll find enough to finish the quest.
The Ray ate all but 1 I think. The Ray does NOT wait for you to loot if it's gonna eat it. The last one I killed the Ray ate it and I completed the quest, then I looted the corpse. Flesh drop is NOT required for the Ray to eat.
Otherwise info is correct.

And by the way, Home Depot started 'No quested asked, take it in ANY condition' before WalMart did. I have personally seen them take tools back that were beat to he11 and older than the one bought.

Confirmed - 61, 82 are bang on the mark - lots of Rays and no other mobs in the way, as Sky said, quest took 5 mins.

You need to kill these

Blackwind Warp Chaser tried to first kill them and then release the Nether Ray and it did not eat anything ... then I had him already out before attacking the warp chaser ... once I killed and looted the Ray started eating

They are all around blackwind lake ... not in! around! (it is the lake in skettis

A good spot I found was 61,81 to 65,85

You can also loot the bodies of the Blackwind Warp Chasers, skin them and still get the quest done......great for skinners.

I'm assuming that it will only feed if Warpstalker Flesh drops? Because my Nether Ray does NOT feed on every Warpstalker I kill. Rather frustrating, actually. But every one I killed that dropped Flesh it ate. It makes sense, but nobody really specified this tidbit of information ;)

if you have a team of 5 and all 5 rays feed at the same time the team gets credit for 5 feeds, you only have to kill two to finish off the whole team for this quest

How does this quest give XP when you also have to be 70 to obtain? I got 11 gold 99 silver for completing.

FYI .. this is NOTTTT a daily quest .. so if you want to keep the Nether Ray as a pet .. DONT TURN in the Quest !

and thats what i do .. cuz that pet just looks sooo cool ! ^^

BUT one thing need to keep in mind tho .. it ONLY can summon out in Terokkar Forest area, yes, ONLY Terokkar Forest AREA !

Hungry Nether Rays

Use the Nether Ray Cage in the woods south of Blackwind Landing and slay Blackwind Warp Chasers near the Hungry Nether Ray. Return to Skyguard Handler Deesak when you've completed your task.

Nether rays are surprisingly loyal and obedient once properly trained. Unfortunately the war on Skettis is taking a toll on them.

We have dozens of sorties a day - the poor fellows rarely get a break. And with recent shortages on feed, if those blasted birdmen don't kill them on a mission then starvation will.

If you can lend a hand, take one of our rays to the woods in the south. They don't mind warp chaser meat as long as it's a fresh kill.
